Chase sneered, not holding back. 

Back when Bianca was close to James, he never thought there was anything wrong with it. 

He used to think Bianca was fragile, and everyone around her, including James, should pamper her and take care of her.

“Chase, I know you’re upset, but trust me, once the results of this design competition come out, I’ll clear your name. I’ve got talent, and the internet has already forgotten about the past. Once we steer public opinion, and with the Johnson Group backing you, your reputation will be restored. Those businesses will stop canceling contracts, and you won’t have to pay any penalties. Bianca spoke as if everything was already a done deal. 

But this time, Chase shook his head, not falling for her words. “Bianca, if you want to mess things up, do it yourself. Don’t drag me into it. Also, you’re no match for Emily. You don’t have her talent. 

When Emily returns, I’ll apologize to her personally. You should apologize to Emily publicly, too, or I’ll come clean myself. If it means breaking contracts and paying penalties, I’ll work harder for a few more years!” 

Chase’s expression was serious and determined. 

It was clear he wasn’t just talking out of anger. 

Bianca couldn’t believe it. 

“Chase, are you nuts? If you admit fault, your career could be toast. Can you really afford the penalties? You might end up working in the entertainment industry for the rest of your life! And don’t go admitting anything online, it’ll not only ruin me but also affect the Johnson Group!” 

Bianca was frantic, her voice sharp. 

Upon hearing that the Johnson Group was involved, Aiden didn’t look pleased either. 

Eli spoke up directly, “Chase, the family’s already in chaos because of Hayden. Don’t act impulsively. Let’s wait until the competition is

Chase looked at Eli, wiping the blood from his mouth. 

Bianca was shocked.

Quickly, she tried to calm things down. “Dad, don’t be mad at Chase. He’s just upset and saying things he doesn’t mean. It’s all my fault. 

No matter my reasons, I shouldn’t have given Chase Emily’s song. Blame me!” 

“Shut up! Stop pretending to be innocent. If you really knew you were wrong, you would’ve apologized to Emily by now. You’re so fake!” 

Chase laughed, a bit manically, as if he’d been pushed too far. 

His reaction startled everyone. 

Without another word, he stormed upstairs, slamming his door shut. 

It was as if he were shutting himself off from the rest of the Johnson family. 

Bianca’s eyes were red, and she wanted to apologize again, but Eli rubbed his temples and said, “Forget about him. I’m tired. I’m going to 

rest.” 

Bianca looked at Aiden. 

Aiden was about to say something when his phone rang. It was a call from his company. 

“Mr. Johnson, bad news. Ronnie got into a fight with Quinton!” 

“What? I’m on my way!” 

Ronnie was crucial to the project, but so was Quinton. How had things gotten so out of hand? 

Aiden hurriedly left, not sparing a thought for Bianca.

“Did you find out where James is?” 

Since she hadn’t succeeded with Knox, she couldn’t let go of James.

She had two options: frame the miscarriage on James and use his guilt to get pregnant again, or keep him around while finding a stronger
