Oh Good 501

 

I nod my head toward Colin, silently asking if he wants to accept him as our current Alpha. When looks around and sees CJ and Solara in line to accept Colin, he smiles and nods, understanding me like he always has. 

I’m not sure I could have ever dreamed how much my life would change all those years ago when I accepted Sebastian as my mate. I had given up on having a life like this, on having a family of my own. And then Sebastian had asked me to be his, and everything had changed. 

I get in line to accept Colin and when I’m closer, Sebastian steps up beside me. 

“GAM–MA!” Natalie squeals, leaning over for me to take her. 

“Hello beautiful,” I say, hugging her tightly as we walk. “Did Grandpa Seb explain what’s happening?” I ask her. 

“Yep! Col is Affa. 

” 

“That’s right. Colin is Alpha now. Uncle Shane gets to step down as Alpha.” 

“Uncle Shane better be ready to take his Hurricane Sebastiana on a whirlwind tour of the world over the next several months,” my daughter says as we get to the front of the line. 

“Have I ever denied you anything?” Shane asks her. 

“No, thank the goddess,” she says. Sebastiana has mellowed with time and age, but she’s still sassy enough that I know she keeps Shane on his toes. I’m glad she never changed and Summer is exactly like her mother, which means she’s a lot like me. 

When I step forward, Colin frowns at me. “I thought you were staying with Nicholas and Ciara for now,” he says. 

“CJ and Solara are staying here, and I want to be here for the birth of my second great grandchild if that’s okay with you,” I say. 

“You and grandpa are always welcome. I hope you know that. 

I accept him as my Alpha, feeling the increased strength of a young Alpha taking over the pack. Sebastian and I have done this so many times, and we’ve talked about it just as many times, that for us, it feels like the circle of life. Everything is as it should be. 

 

“And how about you, little one? Are you accepting me as your Alpha, too.” Colin coos at Natalie. 

“Don’t do it, Natalie! There’s only one Alpha in your life and that’s your daddy!” Nicholas says, walking up and taking Natalie, making us laugh. “Congratulations, Colin.” 

“Thanks, Nicholas.” 

As the party begins, I find a place on the outskirts of the dance floor, watching as family and friends dance, laugh, and congratulate Colin. His eyes keep tracking to his Beta’s sister, who won‘ t turn eighteen for another month. Having seen the mate bond form early with Shane and Sebastiana, I feel fairly certain we’ll be having a Luna ceremony soon. 

I let the peace and happiness of today and life settle inside me, loving every moment of this time I get to have with my family. 

I feel his presence before his arms come around me. 

“My mate is happy. I love it when you’re happy like this,” he says, kissing my neck and sending shivers down my spine. 

I lean back against him, as always, feeling safe and completely at peace in his arms. 

“Look at this beautiful life you’ve given me, Sebastian,” I murmur, my throat getting tight. I’m thankful for the millionth time in my life that I’m mated to this man. 

“It’s a beautiful life that we’ve given each other, Christina. I wouldn’t have had any of this if it wasn’t for you.” 

I turn in my mate’s arms, sliding my arms around his neck. 

“I’m so thankful that you asked me to be your assistant all those years ago.” 

“I’m so thankful you agreed. You gave me a second chance at life, Christina. And I don’t know how it’s possible, but I still love you more every day.” 

“Show me,” I purr. 

My mate leads me to our room, where he shows me, like he has every day of our lives together, how much he loves me.
