Aurelia still went to visit Benjamin. 

But she reminded herself it wasn’t because of Cassian. 

Putting Cassian aside, Benjamin was actually pretty good to her. 

Besides Ella, he was the only elder who’d ever give her gifts for any festival. 

So, both morally and logically, she should go and visit him. 

After dropping Ella off, Aurelia swung by a bakery to pick up the lotus pastries Benjamin liked, then headed over to visit him. 

Benjamin’s usual icy expression mellowed out a bit when he saw Aurelia. 

Once he’d finished two pastries, he finally asked how she’d been lately. 

Aurelia, sounding casual, told him she’d quit Honoria Capital and started taking on independent projects on her own. 

So far, things were going pretty smoothly. 

Benjamin didn’t bother asking why she’d quit Honoria Capital, nor did he mention anything about her past with Cassian. 

Instead, he focused on asking about the progress of the project. 

Aurelia didn’t hold back–she laid out every detail for him. 

Benjamin listened thoughtfully, chimed in with a few compliments, and then threw out some genuinely helpful suggestions. 

Before his injury, Benjamin was nothing short of a living legend among business tycoons. 

Back then, he led the Locke Group to explosive growth, becoming an unstoppable force in just five 

years. 

From real estate to the internet boom, every investment was perfectly timed, and he caught every big wave before it peaked.

His wife, the CFO of the Locke Group, was arrested overseas by the local authorities on charges of bank fraud while she was there for business.

Benjamin mulled it over for a moment, then finally spoke, “Alright, after you’re back from the summit, come find me. I’ll introduce you to some friends of mine.” 

Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat. 

She couldn’t help but think, ‘Benjamin’s friends…‘ 

Each one of them was basically a heavyweight in the business world. 

And back when Cassian was starting out, Benjamin didn’t step in to help at all. 

So after hesitating for a moment, Aurelia decided to come clean to Benjamin. “Mr. Locke, Cassian and I aren’t together anymore.” 

So basically, she was just an outsider here now. 

He honestly didn’t have any obligation to help her. 

But Benjamin just scoffed. “Glad you broke up. That kid only fit to spend his life alone.” 

Aurelia was stunned. 

Jeez, that’s coming from his actual dad!‘ Aurelia couldn’t help but think. 

As Aurelia was leaving, Abigail insisted on walking her out, then asked about her and Cassian.

“Abigail, we really did break up. He’s seeing someone else now,” Aurelia said, sounding exhausted. 

Aurelia was honestly so done with having to explain this again. 

But Abigail just refused to believe it. “Impossible! Cassian could never fall for anyone else! You know he still- 

“If you don’t believe me, just ask him yourself,” Aurelia cut in, not wanting to argue anymore. 

She wasn’t up for another round of explaining, so she hurriedly told Abigail she had something else to deal with and made her escape. 

Just as she reached the hospital entrance, she spotted Cassian and Tessa walking side by side, heading inside. 

The two were deep in conversation and never even glanced Aurelia’s way standing among the crowd. 

On the other hand, Aurelia immediately caught sight of the bandages around Cassian’s right hand. 

It looked like last night’s incident caused quite a serious injury. 

Even so, he insisted on accompanying his beloved to the hospital. 

If I’d known, I would’ve slammed his leg last night–let’s see him jump around now!‘ she thought with a bitter 

chuckle. 

As Aurelia stepped out of the hospital, she was greeted by the rare winter sunshine of Ashmont breaking through the clouds. 

She raised her head, letting the gentle warmth brush her cheeks, a smirk playing at her lips. 

‘Who says anything’s impossible?‘ Aurelia mused to herself. 

People changed. That was just how it was. 

Right now, she figured she could understand it all, accept it, handle it, and, most importantly, move on.

The day Aurelia and Tyson headed out for their business trip happened to be the weekend, so Mila made a special trip from campus just to hang out and hype up Tyson at his office. 

“Tyson, opportunities like this don’t come twice–if you don’t grab it, you’ll regret it forever!” Mila urged. 

“Whether I get to consider her my sister–in–law all depends on you!” she teased, her grin impossibly wide. 

“And don’t forget–it’s got to be a proper confession! Flowers are absolutely essential, trust me! It’s the only way she’ll know you truly care!” 

“Anyway, keep it up! I’ll be here in Ashmont waiting for your triumphant return!” 

Tyson was left totally speechless by Mila’s enthusiasm. “What if she rejects me?”

“Then just keep trying!” Mila shot back without missing a beat. 

“I’m just worried it’ll get weird, and we might not even stay friends,” Tyson muttered, a hint of anxiety in his 

voice. 

That was the real reason he was hesitating. 

Mila was practically jumping out of her chair in exasperation. “Can’t you just toughen up a bit? Seriously, she’s your investor now–what, you think she’s gonna drop you and run?” 

Tyson had to admit she wasn’t wrong. “Alright, I’ll try my best.” 

They’d booked economy seats, but Tyson, worried Aurelia might not be comfortable, offered to upgrade her to business class. 

Aurelia brushed off his concern with a smile. “I’ve always traveled economy for work and never had any issues. You were working late last night, so why not use this flight to catch up on some sleep?” 

With that, she slipped on her sleep mask and snuggled into her seat, settling in for a well–deserved rest. 

But just as Aurelia was about to drift off, she realized the folks in the row ahead just wouldn’t stop talking. 

They weren’t loud, but with how close the seats were, Aurelia could catch every word. 

“Why didn’t your cousin book us business class? These economy seats are way too cramped,” someone complained. 

“The plan was business class, but they were sold out–so we got stuck in economy. My cousin’s boyfriend’s loaded, you know. If the summit hadn’t limited private flights, we’d be on a private jet right now!” the woman beside him said, trying to lighten the mood. 

She did her best to comfort him. 

“And get this–her boyfriend is insanely generous. He actually bought her a villa in Summit Ridge Estate just a while back, and it cost over a hundred billion dollars! No one spends like him,” the woman gushed, practically bursting with envy. 

‘Shunridge Estate?‘ Aurelia caught the name right away. 

The name was so familiar that she could hardly ignore it. 

It seemed she had underestimated Cassian. 

She thought he’d go for something around fifteen or twenty million dollars for Tessa, but it turned out he had bought Tessa the crown jewel apartment in Shunridge Estate. 

Fifteen or twenty million dollars was a pocket change for him. 

If he was buying, of course it had to be the crown jewel apartment. 

Now, Aurelia realized that the two people in the front row were the ones Miranda had roasted before–Tessa’s

cousin and her boyfriend. 

They actually brought them along on the business trip. 

“Did you talk to your cousin about my project?” the man asked. 

“Yeah, I mentioned it. She said it’s almost there but not quite–she wants you to revise it a bit more,” the woman answered. 

The man complained, “Come on, her boyfriend’s got cash to burn–if he’d pass along a few resources, a small company like ours could really take off. Try and talk to your cousin, won’t you? Guys can’t ever resist a little persuasion from their girlfriend.” 

The woman coaxed him, “I get that you’re impatient, but just hold on a bit. Once their relationship is really solid, we’ll be able to ask for whatever resources we want.” 

“So what does it take for their relationship to really be solid?” the guy kept pushing, not ready to let it drop. 

“Well, stuff like getting engaged. My aunt says they’re already making plans for the engagement. It should be happening soon,” the woman said with a confident smirk. 

Aurelia couldn’t help but wonder. ‘Wait, are Cassian and Tessa actually about to get engaged?‘
