Aurelia handled it effortlessly, even firing back with a clever comeback that put him on the spot. 

Now it was Liam’s turn to be at a loss for words. 

When Liam noticed Aurelia’s mocking gaze, he realized he’d just shot himself in the foot. 

“Sorry for making things awkward, Ms. Corin. Maybe we can swap WhatsApp and talk more about the partnership later?” Liam said, trying to smooth things over. 

He pulled out his phone, ready to save her number. 

The scene felt familiar to Aurelia. 

She remembered how she’d once been just as sincere, trying to save Liam’s WhatsApp number. 

But instead, he had replied, “Sorry, I don’t use WhatsApp.” 

But then, without even trying to hide it from Aurelia, he’d turned around and started sending videos to his latest fling on WhatsApp. deliberately humiliating her. 

Back then, out of consideration for Cassian, she held her tongue. 

But now… 

Aurelia picked up her coffee cup and took a small sip. 

All the while, Liam was holding his phone, waiting for her reply. 

He really did seem genuine. 

Instead, Aurelia shot back, “Sorry, I don’t use WhatsApp.” 

Liam was stunned. 

Bruce seemed like he wanted to say something 

But Benjamin jumped in just in time, steering the conversation toward the impact of AI on global business. 

He started talking about the current state of business models in the age of AI and how businesses are responding to these changes. 

After that, Liam couldn’t find a good moment to jump in again. 

Bruce was starting to get desperate. 

He risked losing face to deliberately steer the conversation in a different direction. 

He turned to Aurelia and asked, “Looks like you’re about the same age as my son. Are you dating anyone?” 

Liam, who’d just downed a whole cup of coffee, almost choked when he heard that. 

Aurelia answered without missing a beat. “I’m single.” 

Bruce’s eyes lit up with hope. 

But Aurelia added, “But honestly, Liam’s just not my type.”

Liam was at loss of words. 

Her rejection was so straightforward that it left him totally red–faced 

Bruce could see that Aurelia really wasn’t into Liam, so he had to drop his hopes of setting them up. 

Not long after, Bruce politely had Liam out of the table. 

It was clear he was worried Liam’s presence might affect the future partnership between Nietzki Corp and Regal Investment. 

When Liam got back to the golf course, Cassian and Gideon were already there. 

Gideon was sitting off to the side, scrolling through his phone. 

Cassian and Tessa were out on the course, playing golf. 

As soon as Liam got back, Jasper came over and teased, “What took you so long? Don’t tell me your dad was trying to set you up on a blind date?” 

Liam was at loss of words. 

“You guessed it right,” Liam said with a sigh. 

Jasper’s eyes went wide. “Which heiress is it? Do I know her? Is she hot?” 

Liam replied with a thoughtful grin, “Yeah, she’s pretty.” 

Jasper was dying of curiosity. “Come on, spill it already!” 

Just then, Cassian and Tessa came back from the course. 

Tessa took off her hat, sat down, and grabbed a bottle of water. Noticing Cassian still had his hat on, she asked, “Why are you keeping your hat on all day?” 

Cassian replied casually, “I bumped my forehead.” 

“Let me see it,” Tessa said, sounding genuinely worried. 

Cassian brushed it off. “It’s just a scratch. It’ll heal in a couple of days.” 

He quickly changed the subject, glancing at Liam. “So, who did you meet on the blind date?” 

Liam smirked. “Aurelia.” 

“Pfft…“Jasper almost choked. 

Cassian looked completely unfazed, cool and detached. 

It was as if Aurelia was a total stranger to him. She didn’t even register on his radar. 

Gideon, who’d been quietly messing with his phone, finally glanced up and asked, “What’s up with that?” 

Honestly, Liam was still trying to process what just happened. 

He had no idea where to even begin. 

“Mr. Locke set it up. All the board members from the Ashmont Chamber of Commerce were there, and too, Liam added, turning to Jasper.

“Wait. Aurelia was actually there?” Jasper exclaimed, completely floored. 

He wasn’t even in the running for a spot at an event like that. 

Even his father had to lean on the family’s influence to even get a seat at the 

ble, barely more than scraps.

As for Jasper himself, he wouldn’t even make the guest list! 

So hearing that Aurelia was there totally blew Jasper’s mind. 

“Mr. Locke brought her,” Liam said. 

Everyone went quiet. 

Gideon was more interested in something else. 

“Why you and Aurelia, though?” he asked. 

“My dad’s just trying to pair people up at random,” Liam replied. 

Gideon just shrugged and teased, “She shot you down, didn’t she?” 

Liam gave him a look, like, ‘Seriously? You already know.’ 

Gideon just gave a half–smile, tuned them out, and went right back to scrolling through his phone. 

Tessa was just as shocked as Jasper. maybe even more so. 

Even though things with Cassian were rock solid, she still hadn’t met Benjamin, not even once. 

Her mother, Alina, had brought it up more than a few times, hoping the parents could meet and finally lock down a wedding date. 

Of course, Tessa wanted that too. 

But as the woman, she couldn’t exactly be the one to bring it up first. 

So she just kept hoping Cassian would be the one to bring it up. 

But he still hadn’t said a word about it. 

Tessa thought for a moment before asking Cassian, “Cassian, do you think I should go greet Mr. Locke? I never got the chance to visit him when he was in the hospital, and I feel like it was kind of rude of me.” 

Cassian was focused on wiping down his golf club and just gave a brief indifferent reply, “No need for that.” 

Tessa’s heart sank a little. 

Jasper jumped in, “Cassian’s just trying to protect you! Mr. Locke’s got a legendary temper, almost nobody can stand him. Cassian doesn’t want you getting caught in the crossfire, and honestly, he and his dad aren’t exactly on good terms.” 

After hearing Jasper, Tessa felt like maybe she was just worrying for nothing. 

“I’ll just wait it out a little longer,” she said. 

As long as Cassian was hers, nothing else mattered. 

Still, she couldn’t help but feel pretty jealous of Aurelia.

When it came to status. Benjamin was on a whole other level 

He’s the president of the Ashmont Chamber of Commerce, with all the ci 

top business resources at his fingertips 

Every investor in Ashmont would kill for a shot at him. 

And somehow, Aurelia landed all that without even breaking a sweat. 

It was impossible for her not to feel jealous. 

That whole scene totally killed Tessa’s vibe. She ended up sulking on the sidelines, glued to her phone instead of joining the 

game. 

Gideon and Liam were chatting off to the side. 

Only Cassian and Jasper were actually out on the course, playing golf. 

Gideon asked Liam how the dinner went. 

“We all underestimated Aurelia. Her AI project is blowing up!” Liam admitted) 

All these years, he had never once given Aurelia any real credit. 

Tessa stopped typing for a moment, her fingers frozen above the screen. 

“My dad wants to team up with them, bring in their tech, and really shake up the auto industry,” Liam added. 

“InquireMind is a total game–changer. If all goes well, it’s gonna be the hottest project of Q1,” Gideon was seriously impressed with InquireMind. 

“I’ll have my dad set up a meeting with Aurelia and the founder of InquireMind,” Liam said, already spotting a golden opportunity. 

Tessa closed out her chat with Karlie and quickly shot a message to a headhunter/friend. 

“Any chance you can hook me up with Tyson’s contact info? I want to have a quick chat with him,” she typed. 

Aurelia walked out and gave Tyson a call, giving him a heads–up to get ready. They’d be meeting with the CEO of Nietzki Group tomorrow to talk partnership. 

After she hung up and turned around, she ran straight into Cassian.
