Aurelia could hang on for seven years because there had never been a third party in their relationship. 

By using all those memories, she was able to convince herself to stay by his side. 

Even when Cassian started to grow cold and distant in the final year, even when he began to ignore her, she could still accept it. 

The one thing she could not accept was betrayal.

Although Aurelia hadn’t slept a wink the night before, she still woke up at 5:50 a.m. promptly.

In the morning, Gideon Marrick came to Regal Investment himself to swap cars with Aurelia. 

Aurelia felt a bit guilt–stricken. “You have already helped me previously, and now you still take the trouble to make a trip here. I was going to ask Miranda to drop the car off for you this afternoon.” 

Gideon had guessed as much, which was why he thought of coming here himself. 

Lately, they hadn’t had many dealings with each other at work, and Aurelia had been very busy. 

Gideon hadn’t seen her in a while. 

When the opportunity presented itself, it was too good for him to pass up. 

Naturally, he would never tell Aurelia these things. Instead, he inquired about the project. 

Aurelia replied, “It’s proceeding according to plan. The only thing is we’re short of manpower. Everyone has been putting in extra hours to keep up.” 

“If you need anything, just let me know,” Gideon assured her. 

“Thanks!” Aurelia smiled. 

Gideon only stayed for a while before leaving. Aurelia was simply too busy to spare any time for him. 

His presence would only hinder her. 

The moment Gideon stepped out of the building, he received a message Jasper sent to everyone in the 

group chat. 

He said he had accompanied Tessa to an interview with Ashmont’s top financial publication. The cover photo looked fantastic, and the issue would be out next month. He asked everyone in the group to show their support. 

Chapter 102 

Liam replied with an “OK” emoticon. 

As for Gideon, he only turned off his phone screen and didn’t bother to reply at all. 

As soon as he got in the car, he received a phone call from Tessa. 

He glanced at the screen, switched his phone to silent mode, and set it aside. Thereafter, he focused on driving 

Tessa was quite surprised when Gideon didn’t answer her call. 

“What’s up with Gideon lately? He’s been absent from all of our gatherings and dinner invitations. He hasn’t even posted any reaction in the group chat,” Jasper muttered. 

Tessa stared at her phone in a trance until the phone automatically terminated the unanswered call. 

Although she had broken up with Gideon, she remained on good terms with him. 

Furthermore, she believed that she still had a spot in Gideon’s heart. 

But lately, Gideon had stopped replying to her messages and wouldn’t even answer her calls. His behavior bothered her. 

“Could he be busy dating someone?” Jasper jested. 

Tessa’s expression became stony at once. After a while, she said, “He’s probably just busy with work.” 

Jasper frowned. “Surely he’s not so busy that he can’t even reply to messages? I still think he’s up to something. I must do some digging when I go back. I will get a shock if some random girl suddenly pops up as his girlfriend.” 

Tessa became sullen all of a sudden. She put her phone away and muttered, “Whatever.”

With InquireMind about to go live, Aurelia was busier than ever. Sometimes she didn’t even have time for meals. 

Thankfully, she had Miranda. 

Miranda always made sure Aurelia received her meals on time. And the meals always consisted of the kind of food she liked. 

As a result, Aurelia’s gastric problem was kept in check. 

She once asked Miranda, “How did you know so well what I liked to eat?” 

Miranda proclaimed proudly, “Through observation! Being a secretary means I have to know my boss’s preferences. That way, I can take better care of you, provide you with more efficient service, and establish an excellent working relationship.” 

“You have made such good progress!” Aurelia wasn’t stingy with her praise. 

Miranda added some flattery for good measure. “That’s because I’ve got a good boss! 

“Please eat while the food is still warm. Otherwise, it won’t taste nice,” Miranda urged her. 

She then sat down nearby to scroll through the news on her phone. 

Out of the blue, she suddenly blurted out in anger, “I can’t believe she had the nerve to accept that award!” 

“What?” Aurelia asked casually. 

“Tessa Rowe! Honoria Capital actually gave her the Employee of the Year award!” Miranda fumed.

Aurelia chided her at this point. “What’s the big deal? Alright, I’m done eating. Please inform everyone that there will be at meeting later.” 

Thereafter, she dove right back into her work. 

That day. Aurelia worked late until after eleven. By the time she got home, it was already past midnight. 

After a quick shower, she collapsed onto her bed, exhausted, and fell asleep in seconds. 

But just before she fell into a deep sleep completely, she woke up suddenly. 

With the last of her energy, she dragged herself out of bed and staggered to the dining table. She then grabbed the trophy she had been using as a vase and tossed it straight into the trash bin. 

After staring blankly for a while, she proceeded to tie up the trash bag before taking it downstairs. 

She threw the bag into the dumpster without a second thought. Then, feeling very satisfied, she headed back upstairs to go back to bed.

Three days before InquireMind was set to go live, Aurelia tried to invite some major media outlets to the product launch press conference. 

Oddly enough, every outlet she contacted said they were busy that day. 

They were available on any day except the very day of her product launch. 

If it had only been one or two organizations, she would have dismissed it as a coincidence. But when so many outlets gave the same response, Aurelia started to wonder if something fishy was going on. 

She asked some of her friends working in the media industry and finally unearthed the truth. 

It turned out that the company behind AeroMind was throwing a grand celebration party on the same day InquireMind was launching. 

Tessa had invited all the major media outlets in Ashmont to this party. 

Even so, the major media outlets should still have sufficient manpower to cover other events concurrently. 

If they were boycotting her product launch, it could only mean a mastermind was instigating them behind the scenes. 

Very few people carried this sort of clout among the major media outlets. 

However, one name immediately came to Aurelia’s mind, and that was Cássian Locke. 

She took several deep breaths, trying to keep her anger in check. 

Miranda asked worriedly, “Aurelia, are we still holding the press con?” 

Aurelia gritted her teeth. “Of course we are! But we need to cover all our bases. 

“We’ll do the launch both in–person and online,” Aurelia wasn’t taking any chances with this launch. She personally contacted a number of well–known streamers and some industry experts to help spread the word. 

For the press conference venue, she sought the help of past business partners she had worked with before. 

She had more confidence in those people she had worked with. 

Thankfully, she had plenty of experience under her belt. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to handle this.

For two weeks straight, it took the top spot in rankings for smart app downloads. 

Lately, all eyes were on Tessa from Honoria Capital in particular and the entire industry in general. 

She was previously featured in numerous interviews with major media outlets, talking about her journey as an 

entrepreneur. 

To capitalize on the hype, she decided to throw a grand celebration party for AeroMind. 

Originally, she planned to hold the party one week later.
