Early the next morning, Aurelia and her crew showed up at the airport lounge to catch their flight to Grendel City. 

This time, Aurelia had Miranda with her for the trip. 

Murel came along too. 

While they were waiting, Zofia called to check in and said she’d already arranged for a driver to pick them up at the airport. 

Aurelia reminded Miranda to get some warm water for Murel, since he’d need to take his medicine soon. 

But Miranda was gone for quite a while, and Aurelia started to feel something was off, so she went over to see what was happening. 

By the water dispenser, Miranda was in the middle of an argument with a woman in her fifties. 

“I already told you, I didn’t spill the water, and your fall has nothing to do with me. I even helped you up! How can you turn around and bite the hand that helped you?” Miranda said, her voice rising with frustration. 

Miranda had never run into someone this unreasonable before, and she was really angry. 

“You nasty little thing, you made me fall and now you’re turning it around on me? Don’t think I won’t call the police and have you arrested!” the woman snapped, her voice thick with arrogance. 

“You’d better apologize and admit you were wrong, right this second. My nephew–in–law is from the top family in Ashmont!” she said, looking down her nose at Miranda. 

Aurelia frowned. 

There really weren’t many families in Ashmont that could be considered the most powerful.

“What’s going on?” Alina asked, frowning as she stepped out of the restroom and caught sight of the commotion. 

The middle–aged woman immediately jabbed a finger at Miranda. “This girl spilled water all over the floor and made me fall! Just look at my dress, look what she did to it! This is a designer piece. I only bought it yesterday! I haven’t even had the chance to show it off to my nephew–in–law, and now it’s ruined!” 

Miranda fired back, her voice tight with frustration, “I told you, it wasn’t me! I had nothing to do with it! I was just trying to help you!” 

“Help? More like you’re just feeling guilty. If you didn’t do anything, why would you even bother helping me?” the woman sneered. 

Miranda just stood there, at a loss for words. 

“Miranda,” Aurelia called out as she walked over. 

“Aurelia,” Miranda said, looking all aggrieved the moment she saw her. 

Alina’s expression immediately frosted over when she spotted Aurelia. 

Aurelia gave the woman a frosty stare, her presence unmistakable. “There are security cameras here, so it’s easy enough to see who actually spilled the water. If it was my secretary, I’ll apologize and pay for your damages. But if she’s not at fault, you’ll have to apologize to her.” 

“Knock yourself out! I’m not afraid of you!” the woman snapped, still standing her ground. “Just so you know, my nephew- in–law’s got the top lawyers in Ashmont backing me up!” 

Aurelia’s frown deepened. “That’s fine. But if she’s not responsible, then we’ll see you in court.” 

The woman was taken aback that these two young women weren’t intimidated at all. 

Fuming, she spun around to her sister–in–law, Alina. “Call Cassian and have him come handle this!” 

Alina didn’t want to drag Cassian into this petty drama and was about to just let it go. 

Just then, Tessa and Cassian showed up. 

“Mom, Auntie, why are you two just standing here?” Tessa asked. 

It turned out the woman was actually Tessa’s aunt. 

“Tessa, you’re finally here! You’ve got to stand up for your aunt. This girl made me fall and won’t even apologize, and now she’s accusing me of faking it! Isn’t that just crazy?” the woman immediately started complaining to Tessa. 

Tessa hadn’t expected her aunt to run into trouble with Aurelia, and her brows knitted in concern. 

She shot Cassian a look, clearly hoping he’d step in. 

Aurelia looked at him, her gaze icy and detached. 

Cassian’s face showed no reaction at all. He gave Aurelia a dismissive, almost careless glance, his expression aloof and unapologetic. 

“Let’s just check the security footage,” he said, offering the solution like he was just an outsider watching the drama unfold. 

But the woman took Cassian’s words as backing her up, and her arrogance went through the roof. “Do you even know who he is? He’s the CEO of Honoria Capital! It’s got the fiercest legal team in Ashmont. You’ll be in way over your head if you 

mess with us!”

Aurelia gave a cool, almost mocking smile. “Go ahead. Let’s see who’s really left scrambling when this is over.” 

Just as the woman was about to make a scene, a cleaning staff member hurried over and said, “Hey everyone, watch your step. There’s water on the floor. I accidentally spilled it while cleaning and ran off to grab a mop. I totally forgot to put up a warning sign.” 

These words made the whole vibe in the room drop in an instant. 

Especially Tessa’s aunt, her expression was absolutely priceless. 

Proved true, Miranda shot her a death glare. 

The woman shot Tessa a pleading look, hoping for backup. 

Tessa looked caught in the middle, but before she could say anything, Alina cut in. “Looks like this was all just a misunderstanding. Go ahead and apologize to the girl.” 

The woman grumbled, “But this dress is brand new…” 

“Just apologize!” Alina snapped, her tone leaving no room for argument. 

Even if Alina was just her sister–in–law, the woman still had to obey. 

Alina was a big deal in the Rowe family, and when she spoke, people listened. 

“I’m sorry.” The woman said reluctantly and without sincerity 

“Just an apology?” Aurelia’s eyes flashed cold. 

The woman, still defiant, snapped, “Isn’t an apology enough for you? What more do you want?” 

Even Tessa couldn’t help but frown, feeling like Aurelia was just being difficult. 

‘Is Aurelia really just picking on her?‘ she thought. 

“She helped you up, and you didn’t even say thank you. You think a half–hearted apology is enough? Or do you want to drag this into court? We’re more than ready to play that game,” Aurelia shot back, refusing to back down. 

Since they were already pushing their luck and acting all high and mighty even though they were in the wrong, Aurelia wouldn’t hold back when she was clearly in the right. 

“You’re really crossing the line!” the woman shot back. 

Alina pulled her sister–in–law aside. “Come on, just thank the girl and let’s move on. We don’t want to waste time and miss our flight. We should be happy for Tessa and Cassian’s engagement party, not letting this mess kill the vibe.” 

She deliberately brought up the engagement party, making sure Aurelia heard every word. 

This time, the woman finally gave in and, albeit grudgingly, thanked Miranda. 

Aurelia softened her tone and said to Miranda, “Let’s go, it’s time to board.” 

Just as they turned to leave, they heard Tessa coaxing her aunt. “Don’t be upset, Auntie. I’ll have Cassian send you a few more designer outfits later. Cheer up. You’re my guest of honor at the engagement party!” 

Her mood instantly brightened. 

As they walked past a breakfast shop, Tessa suddenly complained, “Ugh, I’m starving. I rushed out so fast this morning I didn’t even get a bite to eat.”

Tessa’s aunt had heard from her own daughter that Aurelia was Cassian’s mistress, and just thinking about it made her blood boil. 

“That’s Aurelia? If I’d known, I wouldn’t have let her off so easy! And you, Alina, why’d you hold me back? If I’d realized it was her, I would’ve made a real scene!” the woman fumed. 

“Cassian was right there. We had to play nice,” Alina replied, clearly thinking things through. 

“Are we really just going to let her get away with this?” the woman grumbled. 

Alina’s eyes went cold. “It’s only temporary. She won’t be on top for long.”
