“You’ll help me, won’t you?” Zofia asked, her eyes full of hope. Aurelia swallowed hard and nodded. “Okay? 

With Aurelia’s answer, Zofia finally felt reassured.

She took Aurelia’s hand and said, “You know, Darren has mentioned you to me so many times. He says you’re smart, sharp, and capable. He says you’ve got a kind of guts most people your age don’t have, and he really admires you.” 

Aurelia hadn’t expected Darren to think so highly of her. 

“That’s why I’ve always wanted to meet you, to see if you’re really as amazing as Darren says. And now I see he wasn’t wrong Zofia said. 

She genuinely liked Aurelia. She could see a bit of herself in her. 

The two of them chatted for quite a while. 

Darren came back. 

He hurried upstairs to find Zofia, probably because he knew she wasn’t feeling well. 

When he walked in and saw Aurelia there too, he gave her a nod. 

Aurelia nodded back and stood up. “I’ll go downstairs and find Mr. Abbott and the others.” 

Miranda was wandering around the estate, soaking up the atmosphere. When Aurelia found her, she was busy snapping photos of a pricey orchid. 

As soon as Miranda spotted Aurelia, she grabbed her and insisted they take a selfie together. 

Miranda grinned, “Come on, we’re in a place this fancy. If we don’t get some pics, we’re totally missing out.” 

Aurelia was also helpless and could only cooperate to take pictures. 

Meanwhile, the butler was politely turning Kyler away. 

“Mr. Ackerley, I’m really sorry, but Mrs. Keith isn’t feeling well and isn’t seeing guests right now. I’m afraid you’ll have to leave for now,” the butler said. 

Kyler frowned and glanced over at Aurelia and Miranda, who were not far away. 

Zofia was willing to see Aurelia, but not him.

‘Looks like Mrs. Keith has her mind made up about Aurelia! 

Realizing he was out of the running, Kyler didn’t press the issue with the butler. He just said, “Got it.” 

On his way out, he gave Aurelia who was still busy snapping photos a dismissive look. 

He let out a cold snort. 

‘Mrs. Keith actually thinks that kind of person has real talent? What talent?‘ 

‘She’s got such a narrow vision, clearly hasn’t seen anything of the real world.

Zofia invited Aurelia and her friends to join her for dinner, and also asked her to come to the charity dinner tomorrow. 

She was the founder and president of the charity event. 

Aurelia said yes without hesitation. 

Zofia invited Aurelia to get glammed up together, lining up more than a dozen couture dresses and sparkling jewelry for her to pick from. 

As usual, Aurelia went straight for the black dress. 

Zofia laughed, “Why do you always pick these dark colors? You’re young. You should go for something bright. Try this one.” 

She handed Aurelia a champagne–colored gown, covered in black and gold rhinestones, with a mermaid–style cut. 

This kind of dress was tough to pull off, but Aurelia looked absolutely stunning in it. 

She had curves that could turn heads anywhere. 

When Aurelia stepped out in the dress, Zofia couldn’t stop gushing. “If I were a man, I’d definitely fall at your feet.” 

Aurelia felt a little shy from all the compliments. 

Zofia went with a pure white gown, saying it would help cover up her slightly pale and tired complexion. 

Aurelia’s heart ached for her. 

But she kept smiling in front of Zofia, not letting her feelings show. 

Only when Zofia wasn’t looking did Aurelia’s eyes turn red, tears threatening to spill. 

Darren came to pick up Zofia. Since she was the host of the charity gala, she had to head over early to get things set up. 

Aurelia was still busy getting her hair and makeup done, so she’d be showing up a little later. 

Before leaving, Zofia told Darren to send a driver for Aurelia, and he said he’d take care of it. 

When Aurelia finished getting glammed up and stepped outside, she was just about to text Zofia when a black Cayenne rolled up in front of her. 

The driver hopped out, opened the door, and told her, “Mr. Keith sent me to pick you up.” 

Aurelia didn’t think twice and got in. 

The car cruised down the road. 

At first, Aurelia was absorbed in her phone, handling work files. But as the ride grew bumpier, she finally looked up and glanced out the window. 

Seeing that they were far from the bustling Grendel City, she asked the driver, “Are we almost there?” 

The driver replied, “The charity dinner is being held at a secluded, elegant villa, so the journey is a bit far.” 

Aurelia didn’t say anything more, but a sense of suspicion started to creep in. 

She messaged Zofia, asking for the address. 

Zofia messaged back, saying the driver couldn’t find her and wondered if Aurelia had already called a car herself.

Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat. This wasn’t the car Zofia had sent for her. 

She immediately sent her live location to Zofia. 

At the same time, she tried to keep her cool, her hand quietly tightening around the car door handle. 

She was calculating how fast they were going, wondering just how risky it’d be if she jumped out now. 

The car was cruising along the mountain road, and it wasn’t speeding. 

Aurelia didn’t hesitate. She opened the door and leapt out. 

Still, the instant she hit the ground, the pain was so sharp it made stars burst before her eyes. 

The driver slammed on the brakes and jumped out, with a baseball bat in his hand. 

He spat, “Damn, how dare you jump out of the car!” 

As Aurelia struggled to get up, she realized she’d twisted her ankle, hard. 

It was a very serious sprain. 

Just trying to put weight on it sent a jolt of pain through her, and she fell down again.

The driver walked closer, his wide eyes fixed on Aurelia as he gave a creepy grin. “You look good from far away, but up close? You’re really something.” 

Dark thoughts flashed through his mind. He suddenly yanked Aurelia by the hair, dragging her toward the car. 

“Let go of me!” Aurelia screamed, struggling with all her might. 

But she was no match for the brute. He practically dragged her into the car. 

“Let go of me!” 

He snapped, lost all patience, and cracked Aurelia hard on the back of her head. 

A wave of pain hit her, and then her world faded to black. 

When Aurelia regained consciousness, everything was pitch black. She’d been blindfolded. 

Her mouth was wrapped in thick tape, and her whole body was bound up, unable to move. 

“Boss, she’s up.” 

Someone spotted her moving and shouted to the boss. 

“Perfect. It’s way more fun when she’s awake,” the boss said with a wicked grin. 

Someone was approaching, footsteps echoing closer. 

Then a hand grabbed at her face, not too hard, not too soft, but it made Aurelia feel sick to her stomach. 

“Damn, this skin is so soft, you could squeeze water out of it,” the man said, his voice dripping with sleaze. 

He kept touching her as he muttered in awe. 

“This dress is fucking perfect on her!”

Aurelia tried to fight back, but she was tied up so tight she couldn’t move an inch.

The man’s hand lingered on her ass, and he sneered, “You’re pretty sharp, huh? We set up a whole trap just for you, and you still saw through it. Not only did you jump out of the car, you even managed to send out your location for help. Gutsy.” 

Aurelia’s heart sank. 

It seemed they’d moved somewhere else. 

She had no idea how much time had passed, but she was sure Zofia had already realized she’d been kidnapped. 

But actually tracking her down would take time. 

The man was already fired up, his eyes burning with lust. He grabbed Aurelia off the floor and sneered, “I’m taking her first. You guys can chill and have a drink.” 

“Make it quick, boss!” one of the guys called out. 

The boss burst out laughing. “You know how I am. I’m not done in less than two hours. Just sit tight and wait 

The others looked disappointed, but since he was the boss, they had no choice but to wait. 

Aurelia felt herself being hauled into another room. 

She was lifted up and then tossed onto a large bed. 

The man lunged at her, his voice dripping with desire. “Come here, beauty. Let me have my way with you.”
