Having Liam here was awkward enough for Aurelia. 

Now Gideon was here too. 

‘Seriously, don’t these guys have anything better to do?‘ Aurelia thought to herself. 

After all, they were all CEOs running their own companies. 

Those two seemed to be butting heads already. 

One was busy peeling fruit for her, while the other was right there pouring her tea or fetching her water. 

Whenever she reached for anything, both of them would crowd around, asking if she needed anything. 

If she so much as shifted in her seat, they’d immediately ask if she felt sick or if they should call a doctor. 

They were both jumping at every little thing, terrified of falling behind the other, even for a second. 

Just as Aurelia’s head was starting to ache, someone else came to visit. 

For the first time, she actually didn’t mind having Jasper around.

Jasper had come to visit Aurelia at his father’s request, but he hadn’t expected to run into Gideon and Liam here. 

He looked puzzled and asked Liam, “Weren’t you supposed to be at some summit? I called you last night, and you said you wouldn’t be back for another two weeks.” 

Liam didn’t even look the least bit guilty about getting caught. “Something came up, so I came back early.” 

Jasper was even more confused. “What could possibly be more important than an industry summit?” 

Liam just left him on read, acting like he hadn’t heard a word. 

Jasper turned to Gideon. “And Gideon, why’d you suddenly cancel the quarterly meeting? I went all the way to Gold Gauntlet, only to be told it was canceled.” 

“Something came up, so I canceled it,” Gideon replied casually, like it was nothing. 

“Seriously, what could be more important than Gold Gauntlet’s quarterly meeting?” Jasper pressed. 

Gideon changed the subject. “Are you here to check on Ms. Corin too?” 

Jasper seemed to snap out of it. “Oh, right! My dad heard Ms. Corin was sick and told me to come see her. Hope she gets 

better soon.” 

“Please thank your father for me,” Aurelia replied politely. 

Jasper didn’t stick around. He always got kind of nervous around Aurelia, so he found an excuse to duck out. 

Luckily, Aurelia didn’t try to stop him. 

But as he was leaving, he called out to Gideon, saying he needed to talk to him about something. 

As soon as they stepped out of the room, Jasper said, “Tessa’s also in the hospital. Let’s go check on her together.” 

“I’ve got something to deal with, so I’ll skip it. Just pick up an extra gift for her when you buy yours,” Gideon replied.

Chapter 211 

Jasper frowned. “Seriously, what could be more important than going to see Tessa?” 

Gideon didn’t answer. He just turned around and headed back to Aurelia’s room. 

Jasper had no choice but to go see Tessa on his own, but he still brought two gifts, just like Gideon asked. 

Tessa was really glad to have someone come visit her. 

Alina personally poured Jasper some tea.

“Mrs. Rowe, you really don’t have to be so formal with me. Tessa’s my friend, so you don’t need to be so polite. I brought some health supplements for her recovery. These are from me, and these are from Gideon,” Jasper said. 

Tessa finally lifted her gaze, almost reluctantly. “He didn’t come?” 

“Oh, he’s tied up and couldn’t make it. He asked me to send his regards,” Jasper explained. 

Tessa’s expression cooled, and she didn’t say another word, nor did she spare the gifts another look. 

Jasper stayed a while longer. 

“Jasper, why don’t you take Tessa out for a walk? She’s been cooped up in this room all day, and I’m worried she’s going stir- crazy,” Alina suggested. 

“Sure thing, the weather’s perfect for it,” Jasper agreed without hesitation. 

The weather was perfect today, and there were lots of people out enjoying the sun in the hospital garden. 

Jasper was pushing Tessa along the path, and she started to relax, chatting with him about random things. 

She also brought up EverMass Group. 

Jasper kept it vague. “Aurelia’s team has already moved into EverMass Group. They’re wrapping up the books and sorting out the debts, but I don’t really know the specifics.” 

“As your friend, I just want to remind you. No matter what, Aurelia’s still an outsider. Make sure you protect yourself, or you could end up with nothing if someone takes advantage of you,” Tessa said. 

Jasper hesitated. “Honestly, I just don’t think Aurelia would do something like that.” 

Her gaze turned noticeably colder at his response. 

Even though it was subtle, it still made her uncomfortable. 

Trying to sound calm, she said, “I’m only saying this because I care. The rest is up to you.” 

Just last night, Karlie messaged her, saying Aurelia had once again taken back her crown as the Queen of Ashmont. 

And now, Tessa’s name was left trailing behind hers. 

Because of the fireworks fiasco, Ascend Group’s stock kept nosediving, and her net worth was shrinking fast. The gap between her and Aurelia was growing bigger every single day. 

Alpite Group was buried under a mountain of lawsuits and compensation demands. 

And over in Westfield, they were hit with a public prosecution too. 

Basically, it was just one disaster after another. 

Chapter 211 

The internet was convinced she’d never beat Aurelia, ever. 

A fire burned in Tessa’s chest, burning, never letting up. 

All she could do was try to comfort herself. 

She still had Cassian. She wasn’t out of the game yet. 

Aurelia might know her way around business, but that was about it for her. 

With the kind of background and education she has, there was no way she’d ever make it to the top. 

So, aside from her so–called skills, she couldn’t even compare to me. 

After that, the two of them sat in a long, heavy silence. 

Finally, Jasper broke the silence. “Are you tired? Do you want to go back to your room and rest?” 

Tessa nodded. “Sure.” 

He started wheeling her back to her room. 

On the other side of the path was a small artificial lake, packed with people and full of life. 

As Tessa passed by, she shot a glance in that direction. 

She immediately spotted Gideon. 

He picked up a hat from the grass by the lake, brushed off the stray grass with care, then quickly headed to the other side. 

Tessa couldn’t help but watch him as he walked away. 

At last, her eyes landed on someone she absolutely didn’t want to run into. 

A glint of scorn flashed across her gaze. 

She tore her eyes away and nudged Jasper to pick up the pace. 

As they got to the door, they ran into Wade. 

He was holding a gift bag, obviously here to visit someone too. 

Tessa smiled at him and said hello. 

Wade just gave her a polite nod. 

Tessa wanted to say something more. 

But Wade caught sight of Aurelia nearby and made a beeline for her. 

Tessa didn’t even get a chance to say anything. 

Wade was still pretty distant with her. 

But she got it, so she didn’t think much of it and headed back to her room with Jasper’s help. 

Wade was here to check in on Aurelia, and he brought some good news with him. 

He told her the safety inspection team had finished, and the project was totally in the clear, no problems at all. She could

His dad was pretty surprised. “This is the first time you’ve ever asked me for help. What’s up? Why now?” 

Wade had always been exceptional, whether in school or at work. He’d always done things on his own, never asked the family for help. 

That was why his dad was so curious.
