Olivia might seem like a total drama queen, but she was actually baby, why would Shepard go after Henry? Those two things are

Olivia put the pieces together. She couldn’t even believe it. Who the light turned green, Olivia was so focused on Briana that she completely forgot about driving. She just kept staring ariana, waiting for her to say something. 

It wasn’t until the car behind her started honking impatiently th Olivia snapped out of it and finally hit the gas, She grumbled under her breath, “Alright, alright, I’m moving!” 

Briana stammered, hesitating to tell the truth. 

Olivia, impatient as always, jumped in. “Henry’s? Are you pregnant with Henry’s baby? Your divorce with Shepard isn’t even finalized yet, and you’re already expecting? 

“Briana, didn’t see that coming from you. Who knew you had it you? So, you cheated on Shepard? Holy crap, that’s wild. Briana, nicely done!” Olivia gripped the steering wheel, her eyes sparkling with excitement. 

Briana blinked, totally caught off guard. “What?” 

“Honestly, this is the best revenge on Shepard. Let him taste betrayal for once. Why should he get to mess around with Vivian? Come on, who doesn’t have a backup guy? You’re a legend, Briana. Serves him right!” 

Briana swallowed nervously. “If the baby’s Henry’s, doesn’t that make me kind of trashy? Like, zero morals?” 

Olivia shot her a look. “If it were anyone else, I’d totally judge. But it’s you, babe. I just think you’re a legend.” 

Briana just shook her head, laughing helplessly. ‘Olivia always has my back, no matter what. Everything I do is forgivable to her. All a bestie really needs is to be in the loop. 

Briana sighed. “Sorry to burst your bubble. The baby’s not Henry’s. It’s actually Shepard’s.” 

“What?” Olivia blurted out, totally stunned. She felt like she’d just been thrown onto an emotional rollercoaster, her feelings all over the place. She was left completely dumbfounded. 

‘So, what was Shepard beating up Henry for? Was he just bored out of his mind? Gone off the deep end? Or did he totally lose it?‘ Olivia wondered, her mind whirling. 

Briana said, “It’s Shepard’s. But Shepard thinks it’s Henry’s. I told him I only decided to divorce him after I found out I was pregnant with the baby. 

“I didn’t want him to know he’s the real father. He doesn’t even want this kid, and even if he did, he’d just keep the baby with him and take away my right to raise them. 

“The kid would take his last name, and all I’d get is visitation rights. I’d just be a broodmare for his family. It’s a long story. Honestly, I just need to see Henry right now.” She then closed her eyes. 

When they arrived at the gallery, Briana headed straight for the studio. She glanced over and noticed the bodyguards had followed her inside. Some were posted at the entrance, others lurked in the corners, and a couple hovered nearby. 

Briana stepped into the studio and shut the door behind her with a bang. With barely a pause, she slipped out through the studio window. Good thing the window was barely waist–high, easy enough to get through. 

Olivia had swapped cars and was parked at the curb, waiting for her. Briana shook off the bodyguards easily and made her way straight to the hospital.

Inside the hospital room, Henry was half–reclining in his bed. H cheek was still sporting a nasty bruise, and his chest was all wrapped up in white gauze, 

A couple of weak coughs escaped him, and he pressed a hand to his chest, grimacing. Footsteps approached from the hallway. He dismissed them, assuming it was the nurse, and weakly reached for the glass of water on the table. 

The door opened, but he didn’t look over. Then the footsteps stopped right next to him, and a pair of slender, pale hands picked up the glass and handed it to him. 

Briana said softly, “Henry, I’m sorry.” 

Henry was stunned, looking up in surprise. “Briana? How did you get here? I’m fine, really. Just a few days to heal. And I’ll be out. You shouldn’t be here. If Shepard gets wind of this, he’ll make things tough for you.” 

Briana’s eyes were rimmed with tears. “Even now, when you’re the one who’s hurt, you’re still worried about me. Henry, I owe you so much, I don’t even know how I could ever make it up to you.” 

Henry said with a gentle smile, “I never wanted you to repay me I did it because I wanted to.” 

He lowered his head to take a sip of water, and Briana just stood there by his bedside, watching him, keeping him company. Just then, Olivia walked in and quietly closed the door behind her. 

She flashed an OK sign. “All clear. I did a sweep.” 

Henry blinked in surprise. “Miss Hughes? You’re here, too?” 

Olivia said with a grin, “Yeah, no way Briana could’ve gotten to you without me.” She plopped down in the chair, eyeing Henry’s bruises and bandages. She couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh. 

Olivia said, “Alright, you two, don’t waste time. I want the full scoop. Tell me what’s really going on.” 

Henry asked, “Briana, you didn’t tell Miss Hughes?” 

Briana said, her voice trailing off, “I never said a word. I was trying to keep it a secret from everyone.” Briana gave a bitter little smile. Things had gotten so crazy, totally not what she expected. 

Briana sighed. “Shepard found out about the pregnancy. I was backed into a corner, Henry. I had to pretend the baby was yours. I just couldn’t let him know it was actually his 

Henry asked, confusion written all over his face, “Then how come you’re still pregnant? You said you were going to terminate the pregnancy when you were getting a divorce.” 

Briana looked down, her voice barely above a whisper. “I did.” 

Henry and Olivia both looked totally baffled. 

Briana continued, “But I only lost one. I was pregnant with twins, but the doctor said one of them didn’t have a heartbeat. So, I had to let it go. That’s why I went from having twins to just one baby.” 

Henry’s face lit up as it all clicked. He thought, ‘Ah, now it all makes sense!‘ 

Briana said, looking right at him, “Henry, thanks for having my back when it really counted. When Shepard came after you, I was honestly terrified, worried you might not get what I was trying to do.” 

Neither of them had a chance to talk it through first. But they somehow pulled it off, just by trusting each other. 

Henry said, “Honestly, I was pretty confused at first. Shepard told me you were pregnant with my kid, and I didn’t really

Henry hesitated, then finally asked, “But why didn’t you just terminate both? You and Shepard. There’s nothing left between you two.” 

Olivia was wondering the same thing. Why go through all that her loser ex? Olivia thought. 

Henry and Olivia both fixed their eyes on Briana, waiting for her to explain.
