Emily only had time to let out a curse before rushing after the Level–2 zombie to fight it.Â
Level–2 zombies couldn’t think at all; they acted purely on instit.Â
Its instincts screamed of mortal danger, and it took off running, hot even caring about the food behind it anymore.Â
Chloe didn’t bother with any of that. She just walked over to the bridge nearby.Â
The bridge was long, packed with cars, most of them wrecked from crashes. The scene was a total mess.Â
Plenty of them had even flipped over the edge and tumbled down below.Â
She took a couple more steps and then suddenly stopped in her racks. She finally spotted the tanker truck Emily had talked about.Â
The whole truck had flipped off the bridge, the front end smashed to pieces, but the tank itself was miraculously untouched.Â
Chloe vaulted down and landed as light as a feather on top of the tanker. With a thought, she swept all the gasoline into her spiritual space in an instant.Â
“A space–powered human?”Â
A few guys popped out of the bushes, their eyes gleaming with excitement as they stared at her.Â
“Captain, I heard if you kill a space–powered human, all their logt drops,” one of them said, barely able to contain his excitement.Â
Mike, another man, jumped in, just as hyped, “Yeah, exactly! If we take her out, everything in her spiritual space will drop, and it’ll all be ours!”Â
The captain looked thoughtful. “It’s freezing out here, and she’s just wearing some thin sportswear. This woman is definitely not ordinary.”Â
“Boss, you’re thinking too much. Maybe she just doesn’t have any clothes at all,” Mike said, showing all his teeth in a wide grin.Â
He cracked a wide, toothy grin as he said it.Â
The captain shot him a fierce glare. “Cut the crap! Didn’t you see how clean she was dressed?”Â
“But she just swiped all the gas from our tanker! We’ve been staking out that truck for days,” Mike grumbled.Â
Chloe listened to the guys hiding in the bushes and couldn’t help but let out a cold chuckle.Â
She was about to walk away when Mike’s voice rang out from beind her.Â
“Y–you’re not going anywhere!” he stammered, his voice shaky.Â
Chloe turned back with a smirk. “What, you planning to keep m here for dinner or something?”Â
Mike was so pissed that he actually laughed. “Dinner? Who saidything about dinner? That gas is ours! Hand it over!”Â
Chloe just shrugged, acting all innocent. “Gas? What gas? I have idea what you’re talking about.”Â
His face flushed red with frustration as he jabbed a finger at her Y–You’re not playing fair!”Â

Chloe took a single step forward and instantly closed the gap of bout a hundred and fifty feet, appearing right beside Mike.Â
“Yeah. I’m not playing fair. So what? You’re gonna try and kill me hoping for a loot drop?” she sneered.Â
Her eyes sparkled with mockery.Â
Mike’s captain finally got to his feet from the bushes, his clothes in tatters and smelling awful.Â
“Hey there. We’re a team of powered humans, and we’ve had our eyes on that tanker for days. A couple of our guys even died trying to get it,” he said.Â
“So why didn’t you just take it?” Chloe shot back, clearly unimpressed.Â
He scratched his head, a little embarrassed. “Well, the guys went out to look for some barrels.”Â
But those guys never made it back, and in the end, a space–powered human just swooped in and took advantage of theÂ
situation.Â
Chloe turned to leave, casually summoned a massive sledgehammer from her spiritual space, and slung it over her shoulder.Â
As she walked past each car, she busted open the windows to see if there was anything worth grabbing inside.Â
Mike couldn’t take it anymore and stomped his foot. “Boss, we-Â
The captain called out, his voice urgent, “Wait up, girl! You need to bring out that tanker today, or else—”Â
His voice suddenly went cold, the threat unmistakable.Â
Chloe was rummaging through the window of a car with a stick, earching for anything useful. When she caught the threat.. she straightened up slowly, her posture unhurried but alert.Â
“You want to kill me?” Chloe said, her tone cool.Â
Mike squared his shoulders. “Damn right! Leave the tanker, or will kill you!”Â
But his voice cut off abruptly, his eyes wide with terror as he stared at Chloe, finger pointing behind her.Â
Chloe smirked dangerously, not even bothering to turn around. The six–feet–tall cockroach behind her was smashed to pieces in an instant.Â
Just like that, the powered humans all freaked out. Even Mike didn’t dare to say a word.Â
Chloe raised an eyebrow. “Weren’t you gonna kill me? Go aheadÂ
“Oh, j–just kidding. Don’t take it seriously,” Mike stammered, foring a laugh.Â
He kept backing away, practically burying his head behind his captain, trying to disappearÂ
The captain was so freaked out that his jaw was trembling.Â
That mutant cockroach was a Level–2 beast. Just a few days ago, hey’d aÂ
to it, and a couple of their guys got killed.Â
In the end, they had no choice but to sinear themselves with zombie blood and hide in the bushes, barely managing toÂ
survive.Â
But now, Chloe had taken it out with just a single move. That was seriously terrifying.Â
Now, staring at Chloe’s gorgeous smile, all the pleasant feelings om before were gone. There was only fear left.Â

Chloe tilted her head, watching the guys who were scared out of their wits. Suddenly, she spoke up. “But you guys reallyÂ
scared me.”Â
The dozen or so men froze, staring at her in disbelief. Looked like they should be the ones who were scared.Â
“I’m super timid, you know. I get scared so easily. So, what do you think you should do about that?” Chloe teased, her voice light but with a hint of danger.Â
Every man stared in disbelief, their eyes wide and jaws slack. They simply couldn’t believe what they just heard.Â
The captain was the first to react, scrambling to rip his backpack off in a panic.Â
“Everything I have is in here. All my supplies and cores. Take it. It’s all yours!” he blurted out, thrusting the bag toward her.Â
Mike was in shock. “Captain, why don’t we just go all out and fight her? This is everything we’ve got-”Â
“Shut up!” the captain hissed, shooting them a fierce glare.Â
But the guys who usually did whatever he said were all clutching their backpacks like their lives depended on it.Â
He couldn’t help but snap, his eyes blazing and teeth clenched, “Are you all trying to get yourselves killed or what?”Â
Mike suddenly started bawling, “What’s the point of living? Without our stuff, we’re screwed anyway!”Â
The captain gave Mike a slap on the head. “Drop it!”Â
Then he went around snatching everyone’s backpacks and dropped them next to Chloe.Â
“Is this good enough?” the captain asked, his voice shaking.Â
Before Chloe could speak, Mike suddenly lunged. He threw himself across the pile of backpacks, clinging to them desperately as if his life depended on it. He wasn’t moving from hat spot.Â
“No way! We need this stuff to help those cops. If you take it, there gonna starve to death!” Mike cried out, his voice desperate and cracking.Â
Cops?‘ Chloe thought, her eyebrow arching in surprise.Â
Back in her previous life, Chloe had only managed to survive ten years of the apocalypse thanks to the help of cops and soldiers.Â
They were always fighting on the front lines, never backing dow until the very end.Â
Chloe couldn’t help but feel a pang of emotion in her heart.Â
Without saying a word, Chloe turned and disappeared right in front of them.Â
Mike blinked, looking totally lost as he stared at the empty spot where she’d vanished.Â
“Did that devil really leave?” he asked, still stunned.Â
His captain yanked him up. “Move it! We gotta get out of here, now!Â
If they stuck around any longer, that devil might come back and fake all the stuff they’d busted their asses to collect.Â
Chloe went through every car, searching for anything useful, but was a total bust. Feeling pretty disappointed, she just headed back the way she came.Â

By the time Chloe got back, the giant centipede had vanished, and her team was waiting for her.Â
Molly pointed in a direction. “Chloe, there’s a path over there.”Â
So the van headed down the path.Â
