Chapter 25

Can I use a computer?Edwina asked.

Adrian pointed to a computer outside the lab. Ms. Lennox, use whichever one you want.”

Edwina picked one at random, turned it on, and said, Give me the internal network address.”

Brian immediately read out the address.

Edwina’s slender, elegant fingers flew across the keyboard. Lines of English letters and numbers rolled rapidly across the

screen.

The group spoke at the same time. Ms. Lennox, what are you doing?”

Edwina answered lightly, Checking your company’s internal network.”

They stared at her with mouths wide open. Ininto the internal network?”

Adrian tried to warn her. Ms. Lennox, Gibson Group’s firewall is built by a top global tech team. The Ash Wings made it. It isn’t something just anyone can break into.”

Adrian’s words caught in his throat. Because Edwina had already entered the Gibson Group internal network. It took three minutes.

Adrian shouted, What the hell? Ms. Lennox, are you even human or are you a God?”

This internal network had never been breached by outside force except by Kelvin himself.

Back then, Kelvin had tested the system by decrypting it personally, and it still took him twenty minutes. But Edwina only needed three minutes. It was unbelievable.

Edwina smiled faintly and didn’t respond. Inside, she thought calmly, Sorry, but the Ash Wings belongs to me.‘

Edwina had built the foundation of the firewall herself. Her people sold it to companies around the world and only tweaked

a few data strings each time. The structure was mostly the same, so breaking it was effortless for her.

Edwina stayed fully focused. Her typing became even faster. She needed to locate the exact address that sent the email and identify the person behind it.

Edwina couldn’t help but wonder, Who dared to spread rumors about me?‘

The next second, a deafening alarm suddenly rang throughout the entire company.

Edwina frowned. The sound comes from the computer. The internal network has been invaded, and the system automatically triggers an alarm.

This feature isn’t something I included when the firewall was sol

This was added later by Mr. Gibson,” Brian said nervously.

That’s interesting.” Edwina raised her brow slightly. She didn’t expect Kelvin to have this level of skill.

In the opposite office, Peter rushed in holding a laptop. “Mr. Gibson. Someone is attacking the company’s internal network.”

Peter wondered, Who has the nerve to mess with Mr. Gibson?‘

Kelvin took over the computer dedicated to managing the internal network. His expression remained calm as he operated it

Finance department. Level three encryption.Kelvin paused, then corrected himself immediately. No. Level five.”

The intruder was skilled. In just two minutes, the firewall had been breached, and now the person was trying to break through the internal structure Kelvin had set up himself.

Kelvin gave another order. All other departments. Stop all operations.”

Yes,Peter answered. Just listening was enough to make sweat run down his forehead.

Kelvin and Edwina were separated by only one hallway, yet a silent cyber war had already begun.

580706.Edwina spoke the numbers out loud. Adrian immediately memorized them.

After locating the email sender’s address, Edwina exited the internal network at once.

Kelvin also stopped. He stared at the computer screen, which had gone silent again. A trace of doubt appeared in his eyes. He repeated softly, Fifty eight?”

Kelvin failed to catch the remaining numbers. The other side had logged out just a fraction of a second earlier.

Kelvin said again, Fifty eighth floor. Design department.”

He thought, his gaze grew deeper, This person went through all that trouble entering the internal network, yet didn’t touch finance or core projects. Instead, they checked an insignificant floor. Why? A warning?‘

Adrian looked at the numbers and said directly, Fifty eighth floor, work area seven, workstation six. That should be Nocturne Designs Department.”

Edwina nodded. I will go down and take a look. Don’t tell anyone else about what happened today.”

Adrian nodded. Understood.”

Edwina left the research office and went downstairs. When she thought about the brief confrontation with Kelvin, her gaze lowered slightly.

She thought, If the attack had continued, it’s hard to say who would have won.

This man really has a sharp mind and is hard to control. Better stay away. A man this good should belong to Helene!

Edwina went straight to workstation six in the Nocturne Designs Department. A man in a suit and black framed glasses sat there.

When he saw Edwina, he looked like he had seen a ghost. Youwhy are you here?”

So scared of me?Edwina sneered lightly.

The curve of her lips was strikingly beautiful, yet it made the man tremble. He was timid by nature and blurted out uncontrollably, How did you find me?”

Edwina replied, Oh? So that is a confession?”

I didn’t. I didn’t do anything. I don’t know what you are talking out. The man lowered his head and pretended to panic while handling the design drafts.

But the papers seemed to defy him. No matter how he stacked them, they slid off and fell all over the floor.

Edwina picked up his badge. Nocturne Designs’s designer. Is this because I supported Maberly Fashion and affected your

performance, so you held a grudge?”

The man’s lips trembled. He didn’t dare speak.

Edwina felt bored. She had no interest in dealing harshly with small fish like him. She said coldly, Send another email. Clarify everything immediately.

Do your job properly. If you think about these dirty tricks again don’t blame me for being merciless.”

The man nodded frantically. He looked obedient and sincere.

Edwina lifted her gaze and pointed at the design on his screen. That part. The problem is on the shoulder. It would look better as a strap design.”

She pressed her lips together slightly. That annoying profession habit again.’

The man cautiously watched her walk away. He was completely drawn in by her final piece of advice.

He thought, I must have lost my mind to cut the recording and send it out. A woman this beautiful and capable!’

Without wasting a second, the man uploaded the full, uncut audio for everyone to hear.

The entire company was shaken even more.

Did you hear the recording? Did you hear it? The satellite project from the research department was guided by Edwina.”

What was that email sender thinking? Changing the story in less than two hours?”

Wasn’t Edwina supposed to have never gone to college? What is her real background?”

Helene stared at the report in her hands, her face dark. Edwina Had stolen the spotlight for no reason at all. If something isn’t done soon, the position of Mrs. Gibson will truly have nothing to do with me!

The incident caused such a stir that even Kelvin heard about it.

He logged into his email, accessed the internal network, and checked the IP of the person who sent the email.

Kelvin frowned slightly. 580706? Two digits match the address the intruder checked earlier. Is that really a coincidence?”

Kelvin didn’t believe in coincidences. He seemed already knew who the intruder was. Far away, yet right in front of him.

Kelvin ordered, Peter, bring Edwina here.”

Peter replied, Yes.”

Edwina entered Kelvin’s office with a calm expression and a hint of impatience.

Did you hear the company alarm earlier?Kelvin asked.

Yes
