Before Emily could even utter a word, Alexander had already discerned her purpose. 

With a charming smile, he declared, “I can lend you a hand, but I don’t want a thing. All I want is you.” 

His tone suddenly grew serious. 

It wasn’t the first time Emily had heard such a demand from Alexander, yet she simply couldn’t meet it. 

“Then just act like this call never happened,” she retorted. 

Emily was well aware that Alexander was no stranger to women. Perhaps what he prized was merely her status as Ethan’s wife. 

Just as she was about to end the call, Alexander blurted out, “You know, just ask, and I’ll do my damnedest to meet any demand.” 

Emily paused for a moment before inquiring, “Even if it means going against Ethan?” 

“What’s there to be scared of? We were foes from the start!” Alexander scoffed.

Andrew was about to chase after him, but Shawn held his arm firmly. “Andrew, use your brain, will you?” 

“Fine, you’re the genius, and I’m the dummy. Happy now?” 

Shawn glared at him. “You’re hopeless.”
