Cruz was blunt. “Not a good guy, that’s for sure.”

As Cruz said this, Marshall shot a look at Vivian and she glared back at him. “Don’t take it so personally.” 

“Want to know what she looks like? Just ask Kyler, he’s seen her,” Zane said, curiosity getting the better of him as he glanced at the usually silent Kyler. 

“Spill it, man. Is Aurelia really that gorgeous or what?” Zane urged. 

Meanwhile, Kyler stared off into the distance, his eyes unfocused. 

His eyes, always so mysterious, now looked like they’d been splashed with the thickest, darkest ink, one couldn’t see the end of them. 

“She’s beautiful,” Kyler said. 

After a moment, he added, “She’s really beautiful.” 

Zane was getting even more curious, could hardly sit still. “Why isn’t Aurelia here yet?” 

Just as he finished speaking, there was a commotion at the entrance. 

Zane turned to look, and after a moment of stunned silence, he blurted out, “Everyone, I just saw a fairy!” 

Someone nearby said, “That’s Aurelia, the star of the night.” 

Zane had seen all kinds of beautiful women before, but none ever stunned him like this. 

There were also plenty of gorgeous women at the party, each one dressed to the nines, all trying to outshine. the rest. 

However, Aurelia had barely any makeup on, and she was effortlessly gorgeous. 

Zane blurted out a question he just couldn’t wrap his head around, “Seriously, who could ever break a fairy’s heart?” 

This party was on a whole different level. They’d even invited a bunch of scholars and professors. 

And the big shots from the business world weren’t just local; they’d come from all over the country.

Everyone else headed over, but Kyler hesitated, staying put. 

Zane turned back and called out, “What are you waiting for? Let’s go!” 

Kyler finally followed, but he deliberately stayed a few steps behind the group. 

Even when they got there, he just stood off to the side, not daring to actually go up and talk to Aurelia. 

Stephen introduced Aurelia to the rest of the crew, but when it came to Zane, he totally ignored him. 

Zane protested, clearly annoyed, “Professor, why’d you skip me?” 

“Come on, you know why.” Stephen snorted, making Zane really lost for words. 

After roasting Zane, Stephen turned to Aurelia and warned her, “Trust me, keep your distance from him. He’s trouble.” 

It was double blow for Zane. ‘Maybe I should just strangle myself right now and let him lose his third disciple,‘ he thought. 

Stephen barely bothered to introduce Kyler either. He just said, “You two have already met, so I won’t bother. Seniority–wise, you’re the senior sister, he’s the junior.” 

Kyler murmured, “Hello.” 

Aurelia responded politely, but her gaze didn’t linger on him. 

Then, Vivian eagerly pulled Aurelia aside. “Finally, I’ve got backup! You have no idea, Aurelia, dealing with these hopeless dudes is pure torture. I never even have anyone to vent to. But now, we can totally roast them together.” 

Aurelia and Vivian hit it off right away, chatting away like old friends.

Marshall and Cruz gave her two blank contracts from NaviTech Fund. 

Basically, if Aurelia ever needed money down the road, she could hit up NaviTech Fund anytime, no questions asked. 

Zane handed over some NaviTech Group shares as his gift. 

Gideon gave her a lucky pendant, sparkling and crystal clear. One could tell at a glance it was worth a fortune. 

It symbolized a lifetime of peace and safety. 

When it was Kyler’s turn to give his gift, he paused, looking a little unsure. “My present isn’t ready yet,” he said. 

“Come on, you’re the junior. You don’t even have to bring a gift,” Zane chimed in. 

Kyler shook his head. “I still want to. Just need a few more days.” 

Aurelia had brought a gift for Stephen too. 

It was a master–level replica of the “The Thousand Miles Landscape.” 

Zane said, “I saw that painting at the auction last week. It went for 30 million. I was ready to bid, but someone jacked up the price and snatched it away. Turns out, it was you, Aurelia!” 

Stephen was so touched, it hit him right in the feels.

Tessa had been waiting downstairs at the Golden Bay Hotel for two hours. 

The winter night wind seeped into her skin, making her shiver. 

She’d wanted to wait inside, but the hotel staff said the place was fully booked for a private event tonight. If she didn’t have an invitation, she wasn’t getting in. 

So, she had no choice but to wait outside. 

Inside, the lobby gleamed with opulence, alive with excitement. Everyone coming and going was a member of the elite; VIPs from every corner. 

Even though she couldn’t see the festivities happening upstairs, she could easily imagine how dazzling and glamorous it must be.

As people passed by, the gusts of cold wind they stirred up snaked down her spine, making Tessa feel like her blood was freezing solid. 

The chill seeped into her bones, icy and relentless. 

She forced herself to stay put, letting the cold wind pour into her, refusing to give in to the urge to run away. 

Soon enough, Aurelia finally walked out the front doors of the hotel. 

Tessa tried to call out to her, but when she opened her mouth, no words came out. 

Someone else made a beeline for Aurelia, all respectful and eager to say hello. Tessa recognized him; it was the big boss from Stratton Group. 

He belonged to a world Tessa could only dream of, but even he was treating Aurelia like royalty. 

Meanwhile, Tessa could only stand at the bottom of the steps, looking up at Aurelia, watching her bask in the spotlight, the center of everyone’s attention, absolutely dazzling.
