Chloe sneered inwardly, ‘Just a third–level powered human, and he’s already putting on airs like some hidden master? Give me a break.

“Chloe, the captain of Blaze Squad? A second–level healing–type powered human,” Felix said, his voice dripping with disdain.

“A hidden third–level powered human,” Chloe shot back, her eyes mocking him.

Though she didn’t even know his name, exposing his weakness in public was a pretty good comeback.

Felix’s eyes suddenly froze, a storm brewing behind them.

“You better watch your mouth. I’m a second–level powered human. Couldn’t even spot that, huh? Looks like your reputation is way overrated,” he sneered.

With Chloe present, Emily felt emboldened. She immediately stepped forward, hands on her hips.

“You’re wrong, you lame asshole. Running your mouth is one thing, but if you eat food with zombie virus, you’ll end up a zombie yourself,” she snapped.

Hearing her call Felix “lame asshole,” everyone around flinched. Even Charles and the other squad members instinctively took a step back.

They stared at Felix’s back, eyes filled with fear.

Felix hated being called “lame asshole” more than anything. That was the one thing he couldn’t stand.

Sure enough, Felix’s face twisted with fury, a storm brewing inside him.

The killing intent pouring off him was so intense that everyone instinctively backed away, unable to stand it.

They ended up leaving a wide–open space between them.

“Say that again,” Felix growled, his words barely squeezing through clenched teeth as he stared at Emily like she was already dead.

Emily quickly ducked behind Chloe, keeping quiet and pretending to be invisible.

But when she looked up, she met the icy gaze of Noah, who was slowly walking over, his ever–present sidekick perched on his shoulder.

Those two pairs of cold, emotionless eyes somehow gave Emily all the confidence she needed.

Emily laughed, “Lame asshole! Satisfied?

“I’ve seen people get burned before, but asking for it? Dude, you’re seriously weird.”

Felix suddenly unleashed a massive surge of energy. He shot forward like a bolt of lightning and appeared. right next to Emily in the blink of an eye.

In just a second, his whole body expanded to ten feet tall. His power was kind of like Frank’s, but the aura he gave off was way more intense.

His muscles turned a dark gold as he swung a punch straight at Emily’s head.

Chloe grabbed Emily and yanked her back in a flash, barely dodging that deadly blow.

“Emily, move aside,” Chloe called out.

“This lame bastard’s power is freaky,‘ she thought to herself.

Emily looked pale and clearly spooked, quickly backing away a few steps.

Felix advanced relentlessly, brushing off Chloe’s attacks like they were nothing, and launched a second brutal punch right at Emily.

His fist smashed into a foot–thick solid ice wall. It got stuck deep, sending ice fragments flying everywhere.

Chloe was stunned. Her ice wall could stop bullets, but Felix managed to punch his way into it.

He didn’t break all the way through; there was still over three inches of ice left. But that was enough to show how insanely strong he was.

Even if Frank went all out, he probably couldn’t do something like that.

Chloe was on high alert, but Felix was even more stunned.

His eyes went wide as he stared at his fist, stuck deep in the ice and refusing to budge. He gasped in disbelief.

Ever since he’d awakened his power, no powered human could ever touch him.

And now, he couldn’t even punch through something as simple as an ice wall.

‘This is insane!‘ he thought.

The members of the Thunderforce Squad froze, not even daring to breathe as they watched the scene unfold.

“Holy crap, what just happened? Our boss couldn’t even smash through that ice wall?” one of them whispered, voice shaking.

“Boss has never missed before!” another blurted out.

Dallas frowned, finally realizing why she always felt a strange sense of danger whenever she saw Chloe.

‘But she doesn’t have any kind of intimidating aura at all. So what’s her deal?‘ Dallas thought, feeling more confused than ever.

Chloe didn’t hesitate. The instant Felix’s fist got stuck, she flicked her wrist and strengthened the ice wall.

Starting from his fist, the ice crawled up his arm, encasing it in solid frost in a heartbeat.

Felix let out a roar, yanking his right hand back in an instant. But his whole arm was basically dead meat. Without prompt medical attention, amputation would be inevitable.

“Y–You…” Felix stammered, his voice trembling.

He looked at Chloe with pure terror in his eyes.

“Are you a fourth–level powered human?” he blurted out.

Even as he said it, Felix refused to believe it was the truth.

It was just too insane to believe.

That was definitely going to make people suspicious of her.

Chloe just laughed, not the least bit angry. “What surprises me even more is that you, a second–level powered human, have actually reached the mid–third level.
