Lianne scanned her iris and said, “The massage therapists here are amazing. You’ll really enjoy it.”Â
Then she leaned close to Ava’s car and lowered her voice. “And the male escorts here are incredible. If you see someone you like later, just pick one. It’s on me.”Â
So this club also offered escort services?Â
Maybe Ava’s look was too direct because a blush appeared on Lianne’s face. “Don’t get the wrong idea, Ava. I’m not that kind of person. The male escorts here only keep guests company. They don’t actually do anything else. They just drink and chat. Don’t take it too seriously.”Â
Ava smiled. “I understand.”Â
In this era, since there were more men than women, sex was treated as casually as eating or drinking. People no longer found it shameful. And because men outnumbered women, male mistresses were common. It wasn’t unusual for women to date several partners at once. Whether a man could win someone’s attention depended entirely on his own ability.Â
Lianne lowered her voice again. “The men here have amazing bodies. You can find any type you want.”Â
She grinned, showing a set of small white teeth.Â
Now Ava understood. Lianne was clearly a bold girl.Â
Even though the club claimed its escorts only performed, who really knew what went on behind closed doors?Â
“You’re being very generous with me,” Ava said with a smile. Lianne really wasn’t treating her like an outsider.Â
Lianne held Ava’s arm. “This is only my second time here. The hot springs are great too. Let’s soak first, then get a full–body spa, and after that, we’ll grab dinner.”Â
When the elevator door on the first floor opened, seven or eight men stepped out. Ava and Lianne waited by the side.Â
“Oh my God, that’s Larry Jones, the movie star! I love his films.”Â
Lianne grew more and more excited. She handed her bag to Ava. “Ava, can you hold my purse? Go up to the 22nd floor first. I’ll just get his autograph and come right up.”Â
Ava watched the group walk about twenty feet away. She usually didn’t follow celebrities andÂ

But seeing how excited Lianne looked, she seemed no different from those fangirls from her previous life. Ava waved her hand. “Go ahead. I’ll wait upstairs.”Â
“I knew you were the best, Ava,” Lianne said and ran off.Â
Ava shook her head with a small smile and pressed the elevator button again. The building had fifty floors. She pressed 22 and noticed how huge the elevator was. The gold and silver metal panels were decorated with gemstones. It was outrageously luxurious.Â
She fixed her hair in the elevator mirror. Knowing she was meeting someone she had met online today, she had dressed up a little. She wore a long black fishtail dress with a square neckline and a gray shawl with mountain patterns over it. She paired it with short high–heeled boots.Â
The club’s heating was strong, and she felt warm after walking around. Since no one was there, she took off her shawl and draped it over her arm.Â
The elevator stopped on the 8th floor.Â
When the doors opened, two tall men stepped in. Both had silver–gray hair. One wore a dark gray coat. The other had a mask covering most of his face and a sapphire–blue earring in his left ear. He wore a red varsity jacket over a white shirt.Â
On the back of the jacket was a giant black spider. Its eyes seemed to stare right at Ava. It looked so real that even the thin hairs on its legs were visible. Her scalp tingled. Even though she knew it wasn’t real, she still felt uneasy.Â
She grabbed the handrail behind her and looked down at the floor, trying not to meet those spider eyes.Â
As soon as Ethan stepped in, he glanced quickly at the woman standing in the corner. When he saw that she kept her head down and didn’t look their way, he figured she wasn’t his brother’s obsessive fan.Â
The elevator doors closed. A faint fragrance filled the small space. Ethan paused for a second. Through the reflection on the metallic panel, his eyes landed on Ava. He then reached out and pressed the button for the 33rd floor.Â
Ava kept her head down and had no idea someone was watching her.Â
Ryan seemed distracted and a little irritated, so he didn’t notice his brother’s small move.Â
The elevator stopped again on the 11th floor, and another man walked in. He had blue hair slicked back neatly and wore a suit. When he stepped in, all three of them exchanged quick glances before looking away and staying silent.Â

Mason reached out toward the button panel, held his hand on the 28th floor for a few seconds, then pulled it back.Â
Ava quietly observed the three men. Ever since the man in the suit entered, the atmosphere in the elevator had become strangely tense.Â
