Spotty was the powerhouse of the team, and with Noah, both fourth–level powered humans, they could go toe–to–toe with a mutant Frostbeast. 

Since Chloe had leveled up to fourth level, she hadn’t had a real fight yet. This was the perfect chance to get some actual combat experience and stabilize her powers. 

As an ice–powered human, her abilities were rare enough. Running into a mutant with the same ice powers was a stroke of luck she couldn’t pass up. 

So even if she could’ve walked away, Chloe wasn’t about to let this opportunity slip through her fingers. 

To really amp up her fighting power as an ice–powered human, she needed to get her hands on an ice- powered core. 

The whole snowy field had turned into two separate war zones, with the fighting so intense it was like all hell had broken loose. 

The action was so wild that the zombies and mutant beasts nearby didn’t dare con clear, taking the long way around to avoid the chaos.

Molly and Emily stood together, fixated on the mutant Frostbeast, watching its every move and hoping to spot its weak point. 

Weak points were the vital spots for both humans and mutant beasts. If one found one, one was already halfway to winning. 

Phantom stayed close to them, protecting Molly and Emily while unleashing even stronger spirit–powered attacks on the Frostbeast, hoping to slow it down and force it to reveal a weak spot. 

It was clear these two Frostbeasts were both mid–fourth–level, but the first one was much tougher. There was no way to take it head–on; finding its weak spot was their only chance.

Chloe quickly realized something was off. Her team didn’t have any close–range fighters, while the other group was missing long–range support. That just wasn’t going to cut it. She called out, “Phantom, Noah, swap 

teams!” 

Neither of them hesitated; in a flash, they switched groups. 

Just as she expected, after the swap, their overall strength leveled up. At least now, both sides could fight the Frostbeasts to a standstill. 

Right now, Molly and Emily were the ones everyone was counting on. If they could spot the Frostbeast’s weak point while fighting, it could decide the whole battle. 

Noah’s strength totally blew Chloe’s mind. He was actually tanking the Frostbeast’s attack head–on, giving Chloe the perfect window to power up. 

She brought her fists together, then slowly spread her fingers apart. An ice orb appeared between her hands, starting out pea–sized but swelling rapidly. 

Veins of black, shadowy matter crept across the surface of the white ice orb, and as it grew, those dark veins thickened and spread inside. 

After a minute, Chloe shouted at Noah, “Get out of the way!” 

Noah dodged to the side in a flash, yanking his teammates out of harm’s way. 

The Frostbeast lunged forward, but before it could even get far, the ice orb, packed slammed straight into its head.

With a thunderous explosion, the Frostbeast’s skull was warped and mangled, blinding it in one eye. 

Emily pointed urgently at its eye. “It was shielding its eye just now! Go for its eye!” 

At the same time, Molly shouted, “Chloe, there’s a really soft spot under its belly! Every time we hit it, it keeps trying to protect that spot!” 

Chloe nodded, glancing at the Frostbeast. Its eye had been blown out, and now it was driven into a frenzy, enraged and even more dangerous. The other eye was just as hard to target. 

If it shut its eye, that eyelid was basically armor. Even another dark matter ice orb probably wouldn’t work

The blade gave off a freezing, icy glow that made the air around it shiver.

When the Frostbeast saw its companion slain, it unleashed a furious roar, and the air itself trembled, as if the world was about to split apart. 

The ground started to tremble beneath them. 

“Shit, everyone spread out and stay hidden!” Chloe yelled. 

With a massive impact from the last giant Frostbeast, the earth split open at its feet, cracks stretching 1.5 feet wide as snow from all sides poured down into the fissures. 

Emily pulled Molly back, and everyone else quickly fell back as well.
