Chapter 170Â
“Henry is definitely not simple,” Eric snorted, glancing at Briana. He was the first one to come save you, and he knew exactly where to find you. How did he know where you were!Â
“He was even faster than Shepard. He… Suddenly, Eric’s eyes widened, and he clenched his jaw. “That pen!”Â
Eric cursed inwardly. He was really fond of that pen, always carrying it with him and using it almost every single day.Â
If there was a bug hidden in that pen, then everything he’d said these past few days had been recorded, and all those recordings were in Henry’s hands.Â
“He has to die, whether he wants to or not. I’ve been exposed,” Eric said coldly. “Briana, looks like you won’t be lonely on your journey to the underworld. He’ll be right there with you.”Â
Only if Henry vanished without a trace could those recordings be buried forever, never to see the light of day.Â
“Now, move fast!” Eric barked out the order. “If we wait any longer, the main force will be here. And then it won’t be him and her who die. It’ll be us.”Â
The bald guy nodded quickly and started grabbing his weapons.Â
Briana could only watch and listen, completely powerless to do anything.Â
‘Why did Henry come here all alone?‘ Briana thought, anxiety twisting in her chest. ‘Did he not have time to bring anyone else with him?‘Â
Even knowing she was in danger, he still showed up by himself to save her. That was seriously gutsy.Â
‘How am I ever supposed to repay him for this?‘ Briana wondered, her heart heavy with gratitude.Â
Henry watched the figures flickering in the bushes, already sizing up the situation./Â
“Let her go,” Henry said, his tone steady and unyielding. “We can work out the rest.”Â
There was no response. Henry kept walking forward.Â
Henry had barely moved a couple of steps when he heard footsteps charging straight at him.Â
The leaves on the ground rustled loudly under their feet. Henry froze in place. Before he knew it, he was surrounded.Â
The bald guy hefted the hammer in his hand, eyeing Henry with a sinister grin. “Come here to get yourself killed?”Â
“Where’s Briana?” Henry demanded, not backing down for a second.Â
Henry didn’t care about his own situation at all. His mind was completely focused on Briana. He had to see her. ‘What’s happening to her right now?‘ Henry thought, worry twisting in his gut.Â
“Briana? Who the hell are you talking about?” the bald guy sneered. “This is my turf. Step in here, you die. Better start worrying about your own skin!”Â
With a wave of his hand, the bald guy barked, “Take him down!”Â
Several men rushed straight at Henry. They were all armed with makeshift weapons. There were knives, hammers, and wooden clubs.Â
Briana sat on the ground, her hands tied behind her back, her eyes brimming with tears. Truth is, Henry had already come to her rescue once.Â
Chapter 170Â
When Henry showed up, the bald guy was about to start pulling off her clothes. She tried to fight back, but it was hopelesÂ
She’d already made up her mind. If things got any worse, she’d rather jump into the river. At least that way, she could hold onto her dignity..Â
But right at the critical moment, the screech of a car engine tore through the night, getting closer and closer at breakneck speed.Â
The headlights cut through the darkness, flooding the whole road with light. The bald guy totally lost his coolÂ
Even Eric, hiding out in the shadows, was rattled Vivian’s request.Â
- He’d been planning to let these guys mess with Briana, just to fulfillÂ
But he never expected Henry to rush in so quickly. It was way beyond anything he’d imagined. So, Eric didn’t hesitate and moved Briana into the woods.Â
When he saw that Henry had come alone, Eric finally relaxed a little.Â
‘Since another idiot’s come to get himself killed, I might as well deal with both of them right now, Eric thought, a cold smile spreading across his face.Â
“Watch closely. See how Henry dies, and then I’ll send you off after him,” Eric whispered, stepping up behind Briana. “He loves you so much, and in the end, he’ll die trying to save you. You two really are a pair of doomed lovers.Â
“And what about Shepard? He’s your husband, but your heart’s got another man in it. Not that he’s any better. He’s got someone else in his heart, too. You two are really made for each other, huh?” Eric burst out laughing.Â
Briana was pale with terror, tears falling in heavy drops as she stared desperately at Henry, unable to look away.Â
With a cloth jammed in her mouth, she was completely silenced. She couldn’t even cry out for help.Â
Whatever Eric said didn’t matter to her; all she cared about was Henry’s safety.Â
Four guys circled Henry, closing in on him from all sides. Henry stood in the middle, his face grim and unyielding. “I need to see Briana,” he said, his voice steady and resolute. “Where is she?”Â
“Briana? Who the hell are you talking about? Sounds like you’re just dreaming the bald guy sneered. “Alright, your lucky streak ends here.”Â
Henry locked eyes with the bald guy, then shouted, “Briana, don’t be afraid. Someone’s coming to save you soon. Hold on, just a bit longer. Don’t worry about me.Â
“And Eric, I know it’s you. If you touch Briana, I swear you’ll die a miserable death. Even if you off. You know exactly what he’s capable of.”Â
Eric didn’t say a word. He just raised his hand and slashed it through the air.Â
The bald guy and his crew jumped Henry, swarming him from every direction.Â
go down here, Shepard won’t letÂ
Henry held his ground at first, but it didn’t take long before he was clearly struggling. He was outnumbered, and facing three attackers at once was just too much. And to make things worse, every one of them was armed.Â
A wooden club crashed violently against the back of Henry’s skull. Dizziness instantly washed over him.Â
Stunned and motionless, Henry barely had time to react before the bald guy swung his hammer, bringing it down hard on Henry’s chest.Â
A mouthful of blood burst from Henry’s lips. His tall figure wobbled, barely able to stay upright.Â

Chapter 170Â
Two seconds later. Henry’s knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground. He couldn’t get up, his back hunched over.Â
But the bald guy and his crew didn’t stop. Instead, they got even more vicious, unleashing their brutality without restraintÂ
They took turns bringing their weapons down on Henry, one after another, beating him mercilessly. Blood splattered everywhere.Â
Briana’s eyes were blurred with tears, barely able to see through the pain as she watched everything unfold, helpless andÂ
terrified.Â

She was crying so hard her chest hurt, stumbling as she tried to get up and rush to Henry’s side, desperate to save him. But Eric grabbed her shoulder, pinning her down.Â
“Why are you in such a hurry? Your turn’s coming soon,” Eric said coldly. “Just wait, he’s still hanging on, not dead yet.”Â
Briana tried to scream her lungs out, but with the cloth stuffed in her mouth, all that came out was a muffled whimper. ‘Stop it! Henry couldn’t go down like this. No, he can’t, Briana thought.Â
Briana shot Eric a desperate look, then threw herself at him, ramming into him with all her strength.Â
Eric grabbed her by the hair and yanked her back viciously. “Let me make this clear. You and Henry are both dying here tonight. If you don’t, then it’ll be me and Vian who get killed instead.Â
“Don’t even dream about getting rescued. No.Â
a chance.”Â
Briana whimpered desperately, and Eric, fed up, ripped the gag from her mouth. Finally, she could speak.Â
“Let Henry go. Take me instead. You and Vivian are after my life, not his. He’s got nothing to do with this,” Briana pleaded, her voice raw and trembling. Her voice was so raspy it was barely audible.Â
Eric scoffed. “Childish.”Â
