129 A Hell Of A PerformanceÂ
[Music: I Should’ve Let You Burn By Raviel Blackthorn]Â
I passed a quick look, and everyone was watching us. Great! Right at the center of high–class judgment. How’s this gonna help?Â
Ares yanked me back up, my leg still trapped around his waist.Â
“Everyone will think my wife is angry with me,” he uttered, amused. “She’s glaring at me like she wants to stab me to death.”Â
I was about to utter a reply when he dipped me lower this time. My fist clenching his arm for balance, everything upside down, before I was hauled back up to my feet.Â
Ares tried to release my leg, but I placed the other on his waist until he was basically carrying me. Momentarily, he winced, pinning me with a look.Â
I smirked, using this opportunity to caress his cheek, pressing my forehead against his, our breath coming up harsh and uneven.Â
“What’s wrong, husband? Is it too—”Â
I was cut short when his hand gripped my ass beneath my gown. In return, I locked my legs tightly, and a deep grunt rumbled from his chest.Â
His grip was gone, and I thought I was gonna meet the floor, but I was hung, braced by his hands on my thighs, and my fingers digging into his broad shoulders.Â
That was terrifyingly appealing.Â
I was hoisted up, my chest rising and falling heavily. He released me, and I dropped, my heels touching the floor enough for a spin until my back pressed against his solid chest.Â
“Everyone’s watching…” I murmured.Â
“Let them.” His face was buried in my neck, hand gliding up my thigh following the rhythm.Â
I relaxed, suddenly not giving a shit about anyone right now. I rolled my hips to tease before I peeled myself from Ares, rounding him with my palm on his chest, and his eyes tracked my every move, drawn like a magnet.Â

He snatched my wrist and jerked me back to him, before dipping me to the side, more slowly, and focused, our hands crammed together in the air. His lips moved from my cleavage to my neck, and I angled myself more, closing my eyes in quick ecstasy.Â
I pushed myself forward to stand, our eyes locked passionately. His hand crept to my back in a possessive hold.Â
Our breaths mingled, and for a moment, it was just us, speaking desires with eyes, scrutinizing every rise and fall of our chests like a compelling activity.Â
We got closer, almost kissing, but we didn’t make the move even when we were so close to doing it.Â
“I won’t offer excuses,” Ares murmured against lips. “You shouldn’t have been left waiting.”Â
He’s talking about the date.Â
The thunderous clap from the crowd jolted us back to reality. It seems we had given them a hell of a performance there.Â
Now all the embarrassment was catching up to me, but I just fixed my smile. Ares led me off the dance floor and up the stairs. The lights dimmed, and the stage came up brightly.Â
Our spot was near the balustrade, exclusive. His men lingered behind the curtains on guard. I wonder why he had so many men for the evening.Â
One of them came forward and dropped my purse beside me.Â
“Thanks.”Â
When everyone was seated, the stage became the only thing that captured everyone’sÂ
attention.Â
Naomi stepped forward, speaking to the crowd and creating a few laughs before she got to performing.Â
She sings?Â
Naomi had a stunning voice. Everyone was hypnotized, eyes unable to leave her, and so was I. She was glamorous.Â
Who could resist her?Â

I rasped when Ares‘ hand found my thigh, exposed from the slit, and sweaty from our dance. His finger bit into my skin, and with it came a traitorous heat that curled low in my stomach.Â
I’m not sure how long I can pretend. I’m losing touch with myself, and control was about to get hurled out the window.Â
I closed my eyes as bliss crowded my mind when I felt his thumb stroking my skin.Â
“What made you wear them this time?” his voice came like a whisper of sin ready toÂ
drown me.Â
Flickering my eyes open, he’s so close. “W–Wear what?”Â
I bit my bottom lip when his hand drove near my core without warning. A finger circling on the lace, glued to my clit from all the tension that had been building up.Â
He meant my panties.Â
“I won’t take them off.”Â
Ares smirked, and a sharp tear filled the air. He shredded the lace until I could feel nothing but pieces covering me.Â
“Y–You-!”Â
One of his men came forward, leaning down to whisper something to his ear.Â
Thank God the lights are dimmed. But that didn’t stop the redness from spreading all over my face, until it seemed like I was gonna explode.Â
Ares mindlessly played with the shredded material before he released me and suddenly pushed to his feet.Â
“I’ll be back.”Â
W–What-!Â
“Stay here.”Â
I opened my mouth to speak, but Ares was already leaving. I got confused by his abrupt departure, stretching my head to watch him leave with his men following behind him.Â
They got to the end of the hallway, where I caught another movement. I narrowed my eyes, noticing someone being held, but I couldn’t see the person’s face.Â
Something’s wrong.Â

I shifted my gaze back to Naomi’s performance, which had reached its conclusion, and applause resonated.Â
I got impatient, eyeing the spot I last saw Ares, and back on the stage when a pianist took the stage.Â
Ahh… fuck it!Â
I discreetly took off what was left of my panties andÂ
pushed to my feet, about three tall men steppeded them in my purse. When IÂ
Seriously? This just makes the entire thing more suspicious.Â
“I need to use the restroom,” I said, and they stepped back.Â
That worked.Â
But they followed closely behind me as I navigated the hallway. I pushed open the door and walked into the restroom, nearing the mirror.Â
I flinched when the door opened. It was Naomi.Â
“Hey…!”Â
“H–Hi… beautiful performance by the way.”Â
“Thank you. And you too! You killed it with that dance.” She pulled out her purse to freshen her makeup.Â
I blushed. “Not as you, though.”Â
“Oh please… I couldn’t really get into it without trembling.”Â
“You can just picture them naked.”Â
She snorted. “Does that work?”Â
“I never tried.”Â
We both laughed, the sound dying down slowly.Â
“I was once you,” she said out of nowhere.Â
I blinked. “I’m sorry?”Â
“I was once you…Not his wife, though.”Â
My smile slowly faded. “You and Ares were in a relationship?”Â

I thought they were just familiar with each other.Â
“I wouldn’t call it that. After all…” She said calmly, applying her mascara. “The contract is strict, isn’t it?”Â
