The mutant serpent grew even more cautious as it found nothing out of the ordinary. 

It drew itself back, ready to slither away the same way it came. 

Just then, Chloe suddenly appeared right at its most vulnerable spot. The mutant serpent sensed her presence instantly and shot away like a bolt. 

Chloe moved just as fast. She swung her ice blade hard at the snake’s weak point, the blade clashing against the tough scales with a sharp, icy sound. 

But all it left was a faint scratch. 

Chloe instantly slipped into her spiritual space, her brows knitted tight. ‘Even the ice spikes from the Zombie King couldn’t pierce that damn snake skin?‘ she thought. 

She glanced at the black iron dagger in her hand. It was sharp, but unfortunately, just way too short. 

The mutant serpent was simply massive. There was no way she could finish it off in one strike. 

The mutant serpent crashed and thrashed its way back to where it started, and the others didn’t go after it. 

Once Chloe stepped out, she was shocked to see that the mutant serpent had instantly restored all the powers it had lost during the fight. 

Her eyes nearly popped out in surprise. 

Suddenly, a thought struck Chloe. Her breathing grew rapid, and her eyes gleamed with a newfound brilliance. 

“Chloe, what’s over there?” Noah asked. 

“It’s probably another Cosmic Meteorite!” Chloe replied. 

Just then, the Spiritual Space System started buzzing again. 

“Ding! Energy stone fluctuations detected nearby. Please collect, Host.” 

“Ding! Energy stone fluctuations detected nearby. Please collect, Host.” 

“Ding! Energy stone fluctuations detected nearby. Please collect, Host.” 

The urgent voice blared out three times in quick succession. ‘Looks like that energy stone is no small fry,’ Chloe thought. 

‘If that energy stone can spawn both a fifth–level Zombie King and a fifth–level mutant serpent all at once, it must be one hell of a chunk,’ Chloe thought, her mind reeling. 

Now Chloe finally got why the Zombie King and the mutant serpent could both survive here. They kept each

The Zombie King couldn’t get past the mutant serpent’s snake–skin armor, and the mutant serpent was totally helpless against the Zombie King’s polar freeze.

Suddenly, Chloe realized with a jolt, she had that ability too! 

Chloe took out the last few cores from her spiritual space, and everyone just absorbed them on the spot. 

As they were busy absorbing the cores, the mutant serpent darted out of nowhere, its gaping maw wide open and its long tongue flicking, ready to snatch someone up and gulp them down. 

To the mutant serpent, humans were just insignificant bugs, gnats and flies, barely bigger than its tongue. 

It thought it could ambush these annoying humans and swallow them in one go, but in a flash, they scattered and popped up dozens of feet away. 

‘Wait a second, where’s that damn pest?‘ the mutant serpent thought, scanning around in confusion.

“Chloe, watch out!” Mindy shouted.

Noah was flung through the air like a kite with its string snapped, blood spraying from his mouth as he tumbled. 

He crashed to the ground with a sickening thud, bones feeling like they were coming apart, but he still shouted with all his strength, “Chloe, watch out!” 

Next was Spotty. In a flash, it morphed into a massive leopard, 60 feet tall, and together with the Phantom Zombie, they pounced at the mutant serpent from both sides. 

‘How dare you hurt my master!‘ Spotty raged inside, fury exploding in its heart. 

It was completely out of control now; nothing could stop the mutant leopard’s wrath. 

And Chloe was the only one who could save its master. There was no way he’d let her die here.

Forget what Chloe said about not scratching the serpent; it would deal with that later. Stopping it came first. 

“Roar!” Spotty let out a deafening roar, its fury echoing through the air as it charged straight at the mutant 

serpent. 

It pounced right in, going with the flow, when the serpent’s tail whipped at him, his barbed claws caught it mid–swing and snagged the tail tight. 

Without hesitation, it sank its jaws in and ripped off a chunk of flesh with brute force. 

“Hiss,” The mutant serpent screeched in pain, whipping its tail even harder, but Spotty clung on like a leech; no matter how much it thrashed, it just couldn’t shake him off. 

With every savage bite, Spotty ripped off bloody chunks of flesh and gulped them down, devouring the serpent piece by piece. 

Meanwhile; the Phantom Zombie started singing, its mouth releasing a stream of crisp, enchanting notes. 

The twisting melody rippled out like waves of light, washing over the mutant serpent’s mind; its eyes went unfocused, and it felt like its head was about to split open from the pain. 

“BOOM!” 

The mutant serpent was sent flying, its massive tail crashing into the ten–story–tall hotel. 

After three brutal hits, the luxury hotel that had stood tall for years finally came crashing down with a thunderous crash. 

Dust and rubble filled the air, turning the whole place into a warzone. 

By now, Spotty was trapped under the rubble of the destroyed building, totally wiped out; he just couldn’t tangle with the mutant serpent anymore. 

The Phantom Zombie kept singing, and the mutant serpent, knowing it was pointless to chase after it, dragged itself unsteadily back toward its cave. 

‘Once I get back, I’ll recover all the powers that damn leopard drained from me. Then I’ll come back and crush that pesky little zombie,‘ the mutant serpent fumed, rage burning in its eyes. 

But when it finally slithered back to its cave, it was left completely dumbfounded. 

Peering into the bottomless pit, the mutant serpent saw that the huge red boulder that had always been there at the bottom was gone, vanished without a trace. 

‘My treasure is gone!‘ The mutant serpent was consumed by fury and loss, its mind spinning in disbelief. 

“Hiss,” The mutant serpent spat out a menacing hiss, its energy exploding outwards, radiating pure destruction. 

By now, the Phantom Zombie’s song had lost all its power. Sure enough, the mutant serpent zeroed in on it, and it felt like a mountain was crushing down on its body.

Just as the Phantom Zombie was panicking, unsure what to do, a thick wall of ice suddenly materialized in front of it. 

Chloe appeared atop the ice wall, her fiery red robes fluttering gracefully. Amidst the frozen landscape, she looked valiant and breathtakingly beautiful, like a warrior queen you couldn’t take your eyes off. 

“Hey, little worm, your fight is with me now,” Chloe said, opening her right palm to reveal a jagged shard of the energy stone. 

“Hiss,” The mutant serpent spat out a furious hiss, its eyes suddenly blazing as it caught sight of the energy stone shard in Chloe’s palm. 

The instant it saw that fragment, the mutant serpent went wild, its massive body hunched, muscles tensed to pounce, and its gaze locked onto Chloe, who stood atop the ice wall like a living flame. 

Whoosh! 

In a flash, it shot out like a sword from its sheath, tongue flicking as it lunged straight for that damn pest, ready to swallow her whole. 

With a bang, it crashed headfirst into another thick sheet of ice. The mutant serpent knew that chill right away; it was the Zombie King’s frost. 

‘Damn it!‘ the mutant serpent swore to itself, rage bubbling up inside. ‘How did the Zombie King’s ice suddenly show up here?‘ 

Honestly, the mutant serpent was insanely powerful. Even the Zombie King couldn’t lay a finger on it. 

The only reason they could hold each other at bay was that their abilities happened to directly restrain the serpent’s natural instincts. 

With the Zombie King’s ice locking down the place, the mutant serpent was totally stumped. It just couldn’t lay a finger on Chloe. 

The real kicker? Its tongue was glued to the ice, and if it tried to yank it free, it’d end up tearing off a chunk of its own flesh. 

Chloe sat casually atop the ice wall, a faint smile tugging at her lips. She looked nonchalant, but in truth, she kept a close watch on the mutant serpent’s every move.
