“It doesn’t make me sad.” Kaylee shook her head. “I heard Grandfather say to Thisbe it would be nice if I had a baby sister or brother. You can’t have babies if you don’t get married. Nana said so.”

“It will happen. I saw Darwin’s Dad and he had this little smile,” she made a face, “like this.”
January couldn’t help but chuckle. “Well, all you need to worry about is being a little girl who is getting to know her family. Tonight, you and Mitsos are going to spend time with your aunt Thisbe. Your dad and I are going out for dinner to try to see if we can be friends.”
“Boyfriend and girlfriend are friends.”

“When I go to school, are you going to play with Dad?”
“In my wildest dreams,” Gulliver came from the bathroom. “Mom has to work and I have to work tomorrow so we’re going to both go to work. If your mom lets me though I will probably work from her shop to save me driving back and forth tomorrow.”

“Dad, you look handsome!” Kaylee made wide eyes as she stood up on the bed and reached for him to pick her up. “Mommy’s going to want to kiss you.”
“I hope so. I even put on cologne. Smell me,” he pointed to his neck and then when Kaylee leaned in he turned his head at the last second to startle her which sent her into gales of laughter. He tickled her sides. He looked at January, “you look exquisite, my love. Where did Thisbe find the dress?”
“I don’t know but given how we are not this close to each
other’s sizes, I’m suspicious that this shopping spree she went
on wasn’t for her benefit.”

“I’m not arguing. This is gorgeous,” she turned to look in the mirror again.

“You can if you want. We were going to simply carry you here when you were sleeping.”

She had a very sudden realization if the kids were downstairs with Thisbe, she was going to be all alone in the suite with Gulliver.
