January entered the hotel suite still holding Gulliver’s hand. He hadn’t given in to her request to go see the interrogation Glenn was doing and instead, he’d kept her out for a walk until it started to get too chilly even with his suit jacket draped over her shoulders.
In the main living area of the suite, she bit her bottom lip and looked at him as he tossed his coat over the back of a chair and undid the top three buttons of his shirt and kicked his shoes off.
“Don’t your feet hurt? Those heels must hurt.”
She shrugged, “Thisbe buys good quality shoes, and she definitely bought these in my size.”
“Well, that’s too bad,” he made a face.
“What do you mean that’s too bad?”
“I was going to offer a foot massage but if you’re fine,” he shrugged as if it weren’t anything special.
She was kicking her shoes off with verve and racing to the sofa to hold her feet up.

“Yes please! I haven’t had a foot rub since before I left you. Rubbing my own feet does not have the same feeling.”
He laughed at her words. “Let me pour us a glass of wine. I think I saw some oil in the bathroom in the bag of stuff Thisbe sent down. She probably meant for it to be in your bath but I’m sure it will do the trick. You can get comfortable and relax.”
“Did you want the television on?” she asked knowing in the past he used to watch the news before bed.
“No. We can sit and talk if that’s okay, unless you want to watch a movie or something?”
“A movie would be okay. I’m not quite ready to go to bed.”
“Sounds good.” He motioned to the table beside the sofa, “I think the remote for the television is in there. You can pick a movie out.” He was uncorking a bottle of wine.
“You sure you don’t mind me picking?” she teased. “My movie watching tends to be geared towards what seven–year–olds watch.”
“I liked the show last night. Kaylee has good taste.” He laughed suddenly as he checked his phone. “Thisbe sent me a photo, and the two kids were sprawled over her bed both crashed right out. She is asking if she sleeps on the sofa in her room

will Kaylee freak out if she wakes up alone.”
She snickered at his words and watched him as she stretched out on the sofa. “She’ll be fine. I don’t blame her. I still don’t know how all four of us slept in that bed last night. Honestly, I can’t believe that when we video called Thisbe, she said both kids were asleep. I thought for sure Kaylee would want to say goodnight to us but she’s clearly very comfortable with Thisbe and Mitsos.”
“She really is,” he passed her two glasses of wine over the back of the sofa. “Can you set mine on the coffee table? I’ll go grab that oil.”
She took his glass and watched as he disappeared into his bedroom, her eyes trained on his backside until it vanished from her sight. January shook her head at the feelings in her belly at the familiar tug of attraction she had to him. He was a gorgeous man and even though he was eight years older than the last time they’d been together, he was aging like a fine wine. His face was more mature, for certain, but there was a wisdom or a level of experience which coated his features now. His body was still taut and tight, clearly the results of a daily workout regime. He still dressed impeccably with clothing perfectly tailored to his body. He carried himself with the grace of a man comfortable in his own skin but also confident in his body. He knew he looked good, and he made no apology for it. A longing to be naked with him made her pelvis clench tightly.

Dear heavens, she was losing her mind, but a spiraling need was welling up. She tried to push it back down but then he came out with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his shirt nearly completely unbuttoned and
“What are you thinking about instead of finding a movie?” he asked as he came back into the space to catch her daydreaming.
“Your
ass,” the comment fell from her lips before she could stop it and when he came to a complete stop in shock at her words she shrugged. “It looks good in your trousers.”
“Looks better out of them. Want to see?” he winked at her as
he moved to sit at the far end of the sofa and pulled her feet onto his lap.
“Maybe I do,” she teased him as she tried to play off she wasn’t mortified that her mouth got ahead of her brain.
“Careful, January. I might take you up on it.”
“I might encourage you to do so,” she quipped back.
He grabbed her toes and pulled it to his mouth and nipped
them.
“Ew! My feet were in shoes all evening! They’re probably
sweaty.”

“Sweetheart, I’d eat your ass and not think twice.”
His comment made her mouth drop open in shock. Her mouth closed. Then it opened and closed again as he dumped a
generous amount of oil in his palm and began massaging her foot with a cocky smirk on her face.
“That was rude.”
“And accurate. I told you I wasn’t going to lie to you ever again.”
“There are some things you don’t need to say.”
“Lying by omission is still a lie,” he was laughing now as she was torn between wanting to yank her foot away and succumbing to the massage.
“You never talked that crude when we were together before.”
“I thought it all the time. There were so many things I wanted to do to you back then and we were new, only together a short time. You were young, innocent and I was hoping to ease you in. I wish I’d been more daring and pushed outside the comfort zone with you. Now, I think you can handle it.”
Her blinks felt slow and long as she stared at him wondering what was happening
