JASMINE’S POVÂ
Louis arrived at 11am as he said he would. His car was waiting for us by the gate. Louis got out of the car when Tony and I reached it. We greeted each other and then he also greeted Tony.Â
“Wow, you look beautiful Jasmine,” he complimented me as he looked at my dress.Â
“Thank you,” I accepted his compliment feeling proud of myself for the work I had done to get ready. He too looked very handsome himself. He wore a casual yet fashionable outfit.Â
He told Tony to go inside first. He took my hand and helped me into the car.Â
Honestly, I know it was a small gesture but what a gentleman I thought to myself.Â
Once we were all inside we were on our way. We arrived at the Arena and Louis had booked us in the VIP section of the stadium where all the wealthy socialites were.Â
As we entered the section we passed through the small private booths where they were seated. I recognised many of the people as they did me as well. I ignored the stares as I usually did, but I wondered if Louis was alright with all the attention.Â
Suddenly he placed his hand on my shoulder and gently pushed “Come on, our booth is just ahead,” he told me in a kind voice. As if telling me it was okay. He continued to confidently walk in spite of the stares that came our way.Â
We reached our booth and sat down at our seats. The view was excellent from whereÂ
were seated.Â
“Great we’re just in time!” Louis said excitedly.Â
“I can’t wait I’m so excited,” Tony said. We all talked for a little bit as we waited for theÂ
race to start.Â
“Who are you rooting for?” Louis then asked Tony.Â
“I’m rooting Tom Daya, he such a good driver the last race when he….” Tony told him excitedly. “…that was so cool.”Â
“Mmhm, Tom is good but I think Zack is actually better driver, when he saved his car in the French series…” Louis countered.Â

“No, but Zack…. Tony countered.Â
He’s really good with children I thought to myself as I watched him connect with Tony. I had no who they were talking about. I felt like a third wheel on their play date.Â
Once the race began Louis and Tony started cheering and shouting as they watched the cars. They even stood from their seats to support from the balcony of our booth.Â
I on the other hand remained seated as I smiled watching them enjoy themselves. I was the definition of; just happy to be here.Â
There were going to be two heats for the races. The one that was currently going on and then a second one later in the afternoon. We were going to watch both.Â
After the first heat we had lunch at restaurant in the VIP section, Tony and Louis bought some merchandise and then we returned to our both for the second heat. It was early in the evening when the 2nd heat ended.Â
“Tom Daya won again!” Tony shoved it in Louis face. “Zack was even in the top five. What a joke.”Â
“You little jerk come here!” Louis threatened and made to grab him.Â
Tony laughed as he dodged and ran to hide behind me. “You lost!” He added fuel to theÂ
flames.Â
My cheeks were tired from smiling all day. Though I didn’t understand anything about the race, I was thoroughly entertained by Louis and Tony who had a blast watching it. I felt my mood had significantly shifted.Â
“How about we have dinner and then we can call it a day?” Louis suggested. “Not from the restaurant here though I’ll take us somewhere nicer,” he said.Â
“Sounds good,” I agreed. During the dinner I could finally bring up what I wanted to request of him.Â
He had the car ready and we made our to to the restaurant,Â
“Is this restaurant owned by your family?” I asked him as we entered the building.Â
“Yes,” he replied.Â
It was called the Clove it was much fancier restaurant than the Garden House for aÂ
wealthier clientele.Â
Louis took us to a private seating booth in the restaurant and we sat down to eat.Â

Louis, Tony and me talked about our day as we ate.Â
I noticed Tony who sat beside me was quiet and his head was laying on the booth we were seated in an awkward position of the booth.Â
I then gently moved him and had him lie down on my lap instead so he would be more comfortable.Â
“Looks like the little guy’s done for the day,” Louis commented.Â
I smiled as I looked down at Tony and played with his hair.” He was screaming and jumping up and down a lot. He used up all his energy,” I told Louis. “He enjoyed himself.”Â
“Thank you for today Louis,” I expressed my gratitude. “We really had a good time.”Â
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, you look a lot happier, your mood seemed low earlier in the morning,” he told me.Â
He had noticed, I realised.Â
“If I may ask, did something happen?” he then asked me.Â
My eyes averted back to Tony. Here I go I guess.Â
“A–actually there’s something I wanted to talk to you about,” I started. ” something I’d like to request actually,” I told him. It was now or never.Â
Louis looked at me for a moment and then looked down at Tony.Â
“I can tell what you have to say is important,” he started. “But I would prefer you to say it feeling free. I’ll have one of my men take your son and watch over him nearby as we chat.”Â
I agreed with him.Â
Louis got from the booth and called for one of his me. When they arrived I got up from the booth and handed them Tony. The man went to an empty booth nearby.Â
I then made my way back bumped into someone.Â
“Jasmine,” the person said. Surprised she knew my name I looked at them. It was aÂ
woman and my eyes widened as I recognised her. She used to be one of my friends before Diana turned them against me.Â
