JASMINE POVO

To think on a Sunday like this I would be at home spring cleaning my house and now I was here at Louishome.

Louismen that had been sent to my house to pack up all my things returned to the apartment and had Tony and me go pick the things we needed. We taken down the basement of the apartment building where the storage rooms were. Every apartment owner had their own storage room.

Our stuff would be kept in Louisstorage room until we moved to a new home. Tony and me went through the things and took what we immediately needed. Our clothes, Tony’s school things; like uniforms and books, my personal documents etc.

Louismaids helped us carry it all back to our rooms in his apartment. We then spent the afternoon organizing it in our rooms. I then helped Tony prepare his things for school the next day. The maids helped to organize his laundry and do his

I was having a hard time having the maids do the work. It felt weird not doing everything myself since I had become so used to it after all these years.

I couldn’t believe that just like that, we had moved out of our home. Louis was truly a life saver. To think that Diana could just break into our home at any moment had terrified me. How would I repay him? I had no idea.

Louis returned later in the evening. He briefly greeted us but said he had some phone calls to make and went to his room.

Tony went to his room to play some games and I went to the balcony

How’s your hangover?a familiar deep voice suddenly asked me. I turned my head in surprise and found Louis standing behind. How had I not heard him approach I thought to myself.

I thought you were busy,” I recalled him saying he had some phone calls to make when he returned earlier.

Well I’m free now,” he answered.

I chuckled. Yeah, I’m feeling a lot better now,I replied to his earlier question.

What are you thinking about here on the balcony?he asked me.

Just wondering what’s next for me once all this is over,” I told him.

We’ll figure this out together, so don’t worry so much,” he reassured me as he came to stand beside me on the balcony railing. We looked at the view of the city for a little

while.

I then recalled something I’d been meaning to ask him.

What do you think of Andrew Gatwick?I asked him.

Oh you remember him?he asked me.

How can I forget the man who yelled at me and threatened to fire me after I ruined your suit the day we met,I reminded him.

Ah, sorry about that. Yeah he definitely has some anger issues but my father thought he was fit for the job,he explained.

I’ve been seeing him at the restaurant a lot lately,” I told him.

He’s probably just getting some reports since it’s the end of the month,” he explained.

I see,I replied.

He spoke about Gatwick as if he was an just another ordinary employee. He didn’t seem to know about Gatwick harassing younger female employees. What a relief that was the case. Considering how kind and accommodating he was I would have been shocked if he was aware of Gatwicks predatory nature yet still worked with him.

By the way you don’t have to continue working at the restaurant, Jasmine,he then told me. You can rest and take it easy as we figure out your situation.”

I contemplated his words for a moment as I stared at the view below.

Actually, I would like to continue working at the restaurant,I insisted.

Jasmine, you don’t have to,” he told me. I hope this has nothing to do with you feeling like you owe me for taking care of you. I have no problem taking care of you.” he insisted.

No, It’s not because of that,I told him, though I still felt bad that I couldn’t pay him back for his help. It’s just that there’s something I’d like to do.”

It’s not that I wanted to continue working for no reason. It’s just that, I thought of Megan and the incident that had occurred with Andrew Gatwick this past week. Gatwick was going to continue behaving weirdly around young female workers. He had to be stopped.

I looked up at Louis. I wanted to tell him all about Gatwick. Then I thought of the Diana and Keith situation I’d been in, where every time I tried to convince Keith of the things Diana had done but he never believed me. I was traumatised.

I mean Louis might believe me if I told him about Gatwick but I didn’t want to risk it in case it went south. If he didn’t believe me I would look like I was overstepping and trying to influence him in things that didn’t concern me. I didn’t want to ruin our relationship since he was my only friend. Not to mention, the only person who was willing to help Tony and I.

However, I could avoid all that if I was able to provide irrefutable evidence. I was formulating a plan to catch Gatwick and provide the evidence. And for me to able to carry it out I had to continue working at the restaurant.

The biggest problem that Gatwick’s victims faced was they couldn’t tell anyone about what had happened to them because Gatwick threatened them. He was a higher up in the company and all employees including the manager answered to him. They were trapped because the person they were supposed to be able to turn to for help was the problem.

However, I was in a unique position where I was in communication with a higher authority than Gatwick. The CEO himself. I could use this opportunity to make sure I bring Gatwick down but make sure the evidence is irrefutable and all his victims get the justice they deserve.

Louis cocked an eyebrow at me. There’s something you want to do?he asked repeating my words.

I know it sounds a little crazy but can you trust me?I assured him.
