JASMINE’S POV 

My focus was on Tony in the car on the ride back to our home. He, however, was looking out the car window, taking in the view of the setting sun in the distance. 

I knew Tony had a soft spot for Keith since he wanted to have a relationship with him. However, Keith typically paid him no mind. He seemed fine when I saw him driving the go–kart. But was he really okay? Every time Keith came to see me Tony would have this look of longing in his eyes. And then today Keith decided to annoy me. 

I never could have anticipated that Keith would pull such a stunt. 

“Are you okay?” I asked him. He turned away from the window and looked at me. 

“Yes,” he answered. 

“Did you have fun?” 

“I did. I really enjoyed go–karting,” I asked him. 

“Were you nervous when your father collected you?” I asked him. 

“Yes, he’s never collected me before and I knew you didn’t know about him collecting me otherwise you would have told me, so I was worried,” he started. 

“I just hope he didn’t upset you,” I told him. 

“No I’m glad, he came and spent time with me for once” Louis started 

My lips pressed together as my fear was confirmed. 

If Keith’s interest in Tony was genuine and he actually wanted to spend time with Tony, not whatever game he was playing with me. I would be more than happy for him to spend time with Keith. Hell, I wouldn’t even have a problem with the joint custody. I would love for Tony also to have a relationship with his father. 

“Did he talk or say anything to you?” I then asked him. 

“You mean Dad?” he asked. 

“Yes,” I confirmed. 

“What was he saying to you?” I asked Tony.

“He asked me about when we used to live in our old house.” He started. “He asked 

whether we had maids in our house or not and I told him we didn’t. I also told him that 

we didn’t have electricity and water in the house.” 

My facial expression scrunched up in confusion as I wondered why he would ask Tony 

about that. 

What on earth was going on with Keith? 

Not to mention, Diana seemed completely surprised when I told her about the divorce. Had Keith not told her? Why wouldn’t he tell her about the divorce? 

I then stopped myself. It was none of my concern what went on in their relationship. I let out a tired sigh. What I should be more worried about is the complicated divorce 

we were about to have. 

When Tony and I arrived home Louis called me moments later. 

I picked up the call. 

“Hey Jasmine, are you okay?” Louis asked me. 

“Yeah,” I responded. “I’m home with Tony now.” 

“Good I was worried,” he said to me. 

“How did it go?” I asked. 

I then gave him a brief description of what had happened but I didn’t tell him everything. I wet out Keith wanting joint custody. It would be better if I explained it to him in person. 

After, Tony and I had dinner, after talking for a bit, I sent him to bed. 

That night I thought of what I was going to do about Keith wanting joint custody. How could I stop him?

The following morning Tony and I began to organize and decorate our new apartment. The maid I had hired came and helped us as well. 

My foot had gotten more swollen after. I could walk but I had to take it easy. 

It was around mid–morning, when the intercom rang, and when I went to answer I saw it was Louis. My eyebrows sprang up.

“Louis?” I said answering the intercom. From the camera, I saw he held a large bouquet 

in his arms. He was dressed in casual clothing. 

“Came to visit,” he responded. 

“Wasn’t expecting you to be here,” I said to him as he walked into my apartment. 

“These are for you,” he said as he handed me the flowers. 

“Thank you,” I replied. I looked at the bouquet and sniffed it. 

Louis walked further in. “I see you guys are making progress looking good,” he commented on the decorations we’d put up so far in the living and dining room. 

“Thanks,” I commented as I put his flowers by the dining table next to the other flowers in the vase that he had bought for me. At this point, he was going to give me a whole garden if he kept on giving me flowers. I thought to myself. 

“Came here to check on you after yesterday,” he told me. “And to help you decorate.” 

“So tell me, how did it go? You didn’t give me the full story yesterday,” he asked me. 

“He lured me out by collecting Tony from school and forcing me go to him,” I explained. 

“Go figure,” Louis scoffed. “What did he say to you?” 

“He wants us to have joint custody of Tony,” I told him. 

“What?” Louis said in disbelief. 

“I know, it’s ridiculous,” I agreed with him. “I don’t know what he’s trying to do.” 

An expression I couldn’t quite read formed in his face, 

“What are you going to do?” He then asked. 

“I’m going to fight against him, obviously,” I replied. “There is no way I can let him have partial custody whilst he stays with Diana.” 

After explaining what happened the day before I then got back to organizing my things. Louis offered to help and immediately started helping to unpack the boxes. 

With Louis now helping I told Tony he could go do his homework instead since he had yet to do it.

With me directing Louis and the maid I told them where to put the items in the boxes.

Tony and I had already put away and organised the boxes that contained personal belongings like our clothes in our rooms all that remained were decorations, utensils 

etc for the other rooms. 

I picked one of the boxes up to get through but I misstepped and put pressure on my injured ankle. I winced from the pain. 

“What’s wrong with your leg?” Louis who was nearby asked me. 

“Nothing really, just a small injury,” I informed him. 

“This happened yesterday?” he asked. 

I nodded my head. 

“You told me you were fine on the call yesterday,” he told me. 

“I am,” I answered. 

“Let me have a look,” he then said. 

“Don’t be dramatic I’m fine,” I told him. He then grabbed my arm and had me follow 

behind him. 

“Louis, stop,” I said as he pulled me along gently with him. He then had me sit on the couch. He knelt before me and brought his hands to my injured foot. I was wearing shorts so my leg was already exposed. 

He gently lifted my foot, removed the bandage, and inspected the swelling. 

“I know it’s a bit swollen but it should reduce within a few days,” I told him. 

“Did he do this to you?” he asked me. I realised he was referring to Keith. 

Technically, the answer was yes. The only reason I got hurt was because of Keith. “No my high heel got stuck on the ground and I tripped and twisted my ankle,” I told him instead. 

He gave me a skeptical look confirming he didn’t quite believe my story. 

“Fine, then if you insist,” He replied. He then rebandaged my foot and put it down. 

He then brought his head closer to my legs. Wondering what he was up to he gently began kissing my thighs. My eyes widened in disbelief. 

“Louis what are you doing?” I asked him and rolled my eyes.

“Nothing,” he responded as his eyes focused on my thighs. 

This man would use every chance he had to flirt with me. My skin tingled where his lips touched. 

“Louis,” I then whispered stifling a moan. “You just can’t help yourself can you?” 

He didn’t respond as he continued kissing them. 

“You do know Tony is in the apartment,” I reminded him. 

“Why are you worried?– I haven’t done anything yet,” he said as he looked up at me seductively. 

“Keyword, yet,” I prefaced to him. 

He grinned at me mischievously as he proceeded to bite my inner thigh. I whimpered at this. Caught off, guard. 

My lips pressed together and my eyes narrowed at him. 

“Let’s get back to work,” he then said as he got up and went back to the boxes. It was around early afternoon when we finished putting everything in the boxes away. The apartment now had a nice homey feel to it. 

All three of us then had lunch. “Now that we’re done how about we go out?” Louis asked Tony and me at the dining table, as we began to put away our dirty lunch plates. 

“What do you have in mind?” I asked him. 

“I don’t know how, we can find something fun to do.” He suggested. ” Like I heard a new exhibit opened at the modern art museum. We can check it out.” 

“What do you think Tony?” I asked him. 

“Yes, let’s go!” he agreed. 

“Well then, let’s get ready to go,” I said in agreement.
