Chapter 73 Awkward Morning 

Ava’s face turned red right away. “Who is thinking that? Stop accusing me of things!”

“Laurent, she’s just become an adult,” Ethan said as he stood in front of her. “Don’t tease her.” 

“You slept from yesterday until this morning. We stayed up all night with you. You wake up and act cold right away. Doesn’t your conscience hurt at all?” Ryan stood beside his older brother with his hands in his pockets. He looked at her with clear blame in his eyes. 

Ava muttered, “It’s not like I asked you to stay here.” 

“Didn’t you say it very seriously yesterday that we’re your husbands and we have to be responsible for your safety?” Ryan shot her words right back at her. “How did you forget so fast? As your husbands, how could we leave when you wouldn’t wake up?” 

Ryan stressed the word “husbands” hard. Anyone could hear the resentment in his voice. 

“I know our legal relationship. You don’t need to keep repeating it,” Ava said, feeling helpless. She had only said that yesterday, so Jonathan wouldn’t punish Asher. Why did it sound like she was blaming them when it came out of his mouth? 

“So you still remember our relationship. That’s good,” Mason said with a low laugh. “I was worried you’d forget again. Look at this. You wake up and, except for Keith, who hasn’t come back from his experiment, all four of your husbands are right here with you.” 

“What you said yesterday made some sense. Asher is just your brother. We’re your proper husbands. How could we leave your safety to Asher? So…”

Ava stared at Mason with wide eyes. Her instincts told her nothing good was coming next. She rushed to cut him off. 

“What I said yesterday was just a temporary excuse. You can’t take it seriously. Please don’t think too much about it. I’m not blaming you at all. You really don’t need to do this. I know you’re all very busy. You should focus on your work. Work is important.” 

“Work is important, but staying with you is even more important,” Ethan said with a smile. He bent down and moved closer to her. He looked straight into her eyes. “Ava, what do you think?” 

Ava felt speechless. 

Is this even up to me? 

They had already made up their minds. 

Before she could say anything, the tightly closed door suddenly opened. 

“Ava-“Jane stopped mid–sentence. 

From her angle, Ava was surrounded by several men. Ethan looked like he was kissing her. Jane gave an awkward smile. “Sorry for interrupting. You carry on!” 

She turned around and shut the door right away.

Chapter 73 Awkward Morning 

“I told you to come later. You insisted on coming early!” 

“Hurry up and go! Hurry up! They’re bonding. We’ll wait until they’re done before going in.” 

“Kissing this early in the morning? Do they have to line up just to kiss?” 

The voices outside the door drifted in.

Ava panicked and shouted from inside the room, “That’s not it! I didn’t do anything! You got it wrong!” 

It was clear Jane didn’t hear her at all. All Ava heard was the sound of high heels walking away. 

Ava looked like she was about to cry. The misunderstanding was huge. Her reputation was ruined. She had always been innocent. When had she ever done anything like that? 

The main culprit, Ethan, straightened up. His expression stayed calm, as if nothing had happened. 

Ryan turned his head away and pressed his lips together 

Laurent saw how red her face had gotten. She looked embarrassed and annoyed. He spoke up. “Why are you so thin–skinned? Even if you really kissed him, so what? 

“You think everyone’s shameless like you?” Ava said through clenched teeth. 

She then shot Ethan an angry look. “You go explain it yourself. I didn’t kiss you just now.” 

“Why should I explain our business to someone who has nothing to do with it?” Ethan said calmly. “She misunderstood on her own. That’s her problem.” 

“If you care that much, how about we kiss for real?” Mason said with a teasing tone. “Kissing in a hospital isn’t really my style, but if you want it, I can satisfy you.” 

Ava stared at him. “In your dreams! Get away from me. I’m going out!” 

Ava walked out and opened the door wide. She wanted to make sure people outside could clearly see inside. She held her anger in check and sat in a chair outside the room. She sulked and didn’t want to deal with any 

of them. 

Seven or eight minutes later, Jane came back. Louis was with her. When she saw Ava sitting outside, she walked over quickly. 

“Why are you sitting out here? Hurry up and go back inside.” 

Ava knew Jane had misunderstood earlier. She wanted to explain, but she was afraid it would only make things worse. She swallowed her frustration and sighed. She felt unlucky. 

Jane put a bouquet beside the hospital bed and asked, “Ava, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere today?”
