Chapter 110 Keep Your Voice DownÂ
“Gentlemen, good morning.” Ava gave a slight curtsy, the era’s standard gesture for a lady.Â
“Ms. Morren, congratulations on turning 18 years old.” Ethan stepped forward and shook her hand, performing a proper hand–kiss.Â
One by one, the others also stepped up to perform the hand–kiss. Ava’s expression grew stiff, but she held it together and shot a fierce look at Asher.Â
Asher shrugged, looking completely innocent.Â
Jane glanced at Asher and, for once, looked at him with some respect. The fact that Ava was matched with these men was still a secret–it wasn’t the right time to let it out.Â
Ava had only just returned to Capitol Planet and hadn’t established herself yet. The news that she had awakened her elemental power was already enough to stir attention; they didn’t needÂ
to attract even more.Â
Still, looking at Ava standing there so prettily, compared to her matches, she really did seem tiny. Jane instantly noticed the height and size difference, and an amused, meaningful smile appeared on her face.Â
Wow, these hand–kisses are definitely for real–nothing half–hearted about them. Jane’s eyes sparkled. On occasions like this, between unmarried men and women who barely know each other, guys usually just go through the motions. They never actually kiss the hand.Â
Lianne stared at the scene playing out in front of her, where everyone pretended not to know each other. She felt so excited that her whole face grew flushed, especially when she saw Laurent bend down to take Ava’s hand. Lianne had to fight hard not to squeal.Â
Ava was really her destined sister–in–law.Â
Ava and Laurent looked absolutely perfect together. Lianne had never felt the chemistry between Laurent and a girl so strongly before, not until this moment. She was already picturing a whole collection of romantic moments between them in her head.Â
“Lianne, what’s going on with you? Why is your face so red?” Caela asked, reaching over to touch Lianne’s forehead. “You feel a bit warm–are you running a fever?”Â
Lianne quickly shook her head, “No, maybe it’s just hot in here.”Â
Caela didn’t question it, “If I remember right, Laurent is your step–brother, right?”Â
Lianne answered with a quick hum, “Yup.”Â

“Wow, your step–brother is really tall and handsome, just my type. Lianne, why don’t you introduce me to him?” Roxy said bluntly.Â
Lianne immediately tensed, her face turning serious, brows furrowing, “Roxy, my brother doesn’t like your type, so you can give up.”Â
Roxy looked a bit stunned by how directly she’d been turned down, “Lianne, you’re not your brother. How do you know what kind of girl he likes?”Â
Lianne mumbled, “He just doesn’t like your type.”Â
Mireya burst out laughing, patting Roxy on the shoulder, “It’s rare to hear you admit you want something. But too bad, Mr. Caswell definitely isn’t into you!”Â
She then smiled at Lianne, “Don’t mind Roxy. She’s the type to fall for someone new every day. Don’t take her words seriously.”Â
Ava stepped back, feeling as if a trace of warmth still lingered on the back of her hand.Â
Jane, having enjoyed the show, smiled in satisfaction and walked over to stand beside Ava, politely thanking the group for coming.Â
As soon as she finished speaking, the people gathered around them rushed over, eager to curry favor with the five guys.Â
Ava retreated to the side, feeling a bit dazed at the scene.Â
“Are they always this popular?” Ava leaned over and whispered to Jane.Â
Jane glanced at the crowd, “Of course. Didn’t I tell you? These guys are the top picks for ideal sons–in–law.”Â
Ava’s mouth twitched, “So I’ve basically snatched up someone else’s perfect marriage prospect.”Â
Jane paused and then burst out laughing, “You’re pretty funny, you know that?”Â
“Jane, keep your voice down. Try to be a little more ladylike.”Â
Avery had heard the commotion and came over. As soon as she got close, she heard her granddaughter’s signature laugh and couldn’t help but feel a little helpless.Â
“Grandma, you know me. There’s no way I’ll ever be the kind of lady you want me to be.” Jane quickly stifled her laugh, replying nonchalantly.Â
Avery shook her head, “You’re so sloppy and careless. You really don’t act like a proper youngÂ

Jane wiped the smile off her face, “Grandma, what’s a girl supposed to act like? I think I’m doing just fine. Right, Ava?”Â
“Jane isÂ
great.Â
She’s lively, energetic, and so full of life.” Ava praised her sincerely, a bit surprised by her new ‘Grandma‘. So she really is a traditional lady after all?Â
