Chapter 178 The Agreement 

Emily brushed the dust off the divorce agreement and left Brocade Estates with it. 

When she drove to Joy Gardens, she pulled over by the roadside instead of going inside. 

Joy Gardens had once been her home–the place where her daughter and husband had lived. 

But now, it belonged to Nancy. 

Gloria was inside as well. Emily didn’t want to see that face, so she stayed out. 

She sat in the car for nearly an hour before Ethan’s car finally stopped at the entrance of Joy Gardens. 

Ethan stepped out from the driver’s seat and opened the rear door. After lifting Sophia out, he turned back to help Nancy down. 

Only after both of them were out did he close the car 

door.

He had always been so proud, yet in this moment, he humbled himself without hesitation. 

After locking the car, Ethan and Nancy each took one of Sophia’s hands, and the three of them walked toward Joy Gardens together. 

Just as they were about to go inside, Emily got out of her car and called out to them, “Ethan.” 

The moment her voice sounded, not only did Ethan pause, but Sophia and Nancy froze as well. 

None of them had expected Emily to appear at Joy Gardens this late at night. 

Ethan turned around and saw Emily walking toward him from the roadside. Her expression was calm and unreadable. No sadness or joy. 

When she stopped a couple of yards away from him, Emily said, “Let’s talk.” 

Ethan thought for a moment, then turned to Sophia and Nancy and said, “You go in first. I’ll talk to her for a bit. I’ll come back soon.”
