145 Any Last Words?

Would you mind turning around for me?(1

With my heart in my throat, I did as he said.

ThereI must make a perfect headshot.”

My chest rose and fell heavily until it felt like I was gonna have a panic attack.

I always give my target a chance for their last words. I hold onto it as my own reward. He raised a little note as if to show he records them before shoving it back in his coat. It’s kinda like my memento. Any last words?”

WWho sent yyou?”

He laughed. They usually start begging for their life right about now.”

MMaybe I wanna drag the person to hell with me”

Just know, gorgeousThere’s someone out there who really, really wants you dead.”

The door suddenly opened, and we turned.

Am I interrupting something?Athena asked.

The man pointed his gun at her. Close the door, nice and slow.”

Athena did as he said before he moved the gun back to me.

After I kill her, you’re next.”

Klick!

Athena had locked the door, and the sharp sound filled the air. The man glanced her way with a confused expression.

AAthena, what are you doing?I asked in a whisper, as my entire nerves felt like it was gonna collapse.

Why the heck would she lock the door?

Athena tossed her milliondollar bag on the floor, eyeing the hitman with a dark glare, a smirk on her lips, and she looked scarier than the person with an actual gun.

Athena took a step forward, fearlessly, her hands flexing at her sides, and I panicked when the man redirected his gun, finger pulling on the trigger.

Oh shit!!!

I reacted quickly, using the chain of my bag to whip his hand, and the gun fell out of his grip, sliding to a corner.

Athena came at him, heels brisk as she rotated a high kick right on his face, the tip of her heel resulting in a small spill of my blood, and he stumbled.

I stuck my leg behind, and he collapsed to the floor. Just when I thought he was out cold, his eyes opened, and he snatched my leg.

The air was knocked out of my lungs as my back made an impact with the floor, my glasses coming off. When I opened my eyes, a blade descended for my head at speed, but midway, Athena grabbed his hand in a tight hold.

The man punched her in the abdomen, and she swallowed a thick breath, but her grip

didn’t falter.

Athena growled as she aimed a knee kick right at his jaw, and he was momentarily out of touch. She used that opportunity to grab his head like you would do a ball and bang it right into the sink twice, until it broke and water pumped upwards, the ceramics smashing against the floor.

His body dropped face down, unmoving.

IIs he dead?”

Athena helped me stand. He better be”

But the fucking dude switched. He pushed to stand wobbly, blood dripping from his head, and his face a bloody mess.

Shit! He’s pissed.

I change my mindHe pinned Athena with a murderous look. I’ll kill you first, hard

and slow.”

Athena pushed me behind her and stepped forward.

Bring it on, you lackadaisical bald asshole! She raised her clenched fist, getting into a fighting stance.

The man spat a mouthful of blood. Lackadaisical?”

Athena chuckled. You’re not only one but dumb too? Didn’t they teach that at Hitman school?”

The man got more pissed and pulled out a switchblade, cracking his neck. Let’s dance

bitch.”

Athena doesn’t flinch or blink; she came at him, and I’m stunned she could keep up, evading his blade multiple times, aiming for a hit. She managed to get one on him, kicking right at his hand, and his switchblade came out of his grip.

He backhanded Athena, and she stumbled back before he grabbed her.

ATHENA!”

He clenched her hair, slamming her into the stall, and the door came off its hinges

before he forced her head into the toilet.

Oh no, you don’t!

I screamed as I ran, jumping on his back.

What the-He tried to wave me off, but I held on tight, even as he smashed me into

the stalls.

Amidst the collision, I pulled on his ears with all my might until I could almost feel them coming off, but I lost grip when he slammed me against the wall.

Before I could get a grip of my senses, he clutched my hair and pulled me with him, and I kicked and screamed on the floor.

But he suddenly cried out in pain and released me. Athena had crawled and stabbed him in the leg with his switchblade.

I forced myself to crawl out; my heels that had come off somewhere along the line were on the floor, so I took one of them and stabbed him right in the knee.

Amidst his cries, he shoved me away, and when I turned, he was attacking Athena.

Pain shot through me, but I got on my feet and jumped at him again, this time repeatedly using my me off.

I on his back until he tried to way

Athena kicked him right in his balls, and he crouched in a deep groan, while I stumbled off his back. She grabbed a jagged piece of wood and drove it into his face, knocking

out a few teeth and drawing blood.

His back pressed into the wall before he slid down in a sitting position, head downward.

Our heavy pants filled the air. Athena’s white clothes were a bloody mess; thankfully, most of it wasn’t hers. Her face had small bruises, and the corner of her mouth was

swollen.

The toilet stalls were destroyed, and the broken sink made water flow to the floor, mixing with blood.

YYYou good?Athena asked me while trying to catch her breath.

I nodded. YYeahhhow did you learn to fight like that?”

Ares taught me.She paced to take the gun now in sight, cocking it and walking back

to the man.

He stirred awake that moment, groaning, and when he opened his in my hand on the ready, and Athena pointed the gun.

Move, and I’ll blow your fucking brains out.”
