Even after being playfully undercut by his wife, Theodore didn’t seem the least bit annoyed. He simply sat there with a beaming smile, watching her chat with Ava, his gaze soft with tenderness. 

“Ava, you’re so gorgeous that once you start university, you’re going to have suitors lining up around the block.” Ysabel said, a nostalgic glint in her eyes. “Ah, it really takes me back to my own youth. You should take your time and be picky. If you find a good one, keep him. If they’re just average, tell them to kick rocks.” 

The suggestion nearly scared the life out of Ava. She already had five matches to contend with–the mere thought of adding more was overwhelming. 

A visible shudder ran through her, and she quickly said, “Mrs. Jones, I already have five matches. Truly, I’m not looking for anyone else.” 

Ysabel laughed dismissively. “Only five? That’s a drop in the bucket! You won’t know who truly suits you until you’ve seen what else is out there. Besides, it’s just dating. It’s not like you’re signing a marriage 

contract.” 

Ava knew their perspectives were worlds apart, but she couldn’t find a point to argue. “I just want to focus on my training and becoming the person I want to be,” she said quietly. “I don’t have the emotional bandwidth for romance right now.” 

Ysabel was about to push the point, but then she remembered the caliber of Ava’s current matches. She gave her own forehead a playful tap. “Fair enough. Those five of yours already outclass ninety–nine percent of the population. Even if there are other talented men out there, they’d be hard–pressed to hold a candle to your lot.” 

She paused, her expression turning serious. “But let me give you a heads–up. University life at Starry Heavens isn’t as peaceful as you might imagine. Wherever people gather, there’s competition–especially at an elite school. The students there are the best of the best, and they have the egos to match. No one likes to lose. You’ll need to be mentally prepared for that.” 

As they were talking, the click of the front door handle echoed through the living room. A chill swept inside, trailing behind the man walking in. 

Larry stepped into the foyer and paused, looking slightly awkward. “Do we have guests today?” 

Ysabel beamed and beckoned him over. “Larry! You’re back. Come in. It’s rare to see you home. Preston has been asking for you for days.” 

Larry smiled and closed the door behind him. “I’ll go see him first then. Don’t mind me, Aunt Ysabel,” 

He offered a polite bow to the guests before pulling a pair of slippers from the rack and heading upstairs. 

Watching Larry go upstairs to check on her son, Ysabel noted how considerate he was. She smiled at the others. “That’s Larry, Theodore’s nephew. He lost his father when he was young, and his mother wasn’t exactly in the picture. He’s lived with us ever since. He might be a nephew on paper, but to us, he’s no 

different from a son.” 

Ava recognized him instantly. He was the A–list megastar Lianne was obsessed with, Larry Jones. She hadn’t expected him to be Theodore’s nephew.

The entertainment industry was truly full of heavy hitters hiding in plain sight. Plenty of children from elite families dabbled in show business, yet they rarely breathed a word about their lineage. Aside from their work, the public knew next to nothing about their private lives. 

In that regard, the interstellar–famous Tylissa was the exception. 

“He does look a bit familiar,” Margaret noted with a smile. “I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere before.” 

Ysabel let out a bright laugh, her voice thick with pride. “I wouldn’t be surprised! He’s an A–list movie star. He’s got quite the following online.” 

“Ah, that explains it. No wonder he looked so familiar,” Margaret laughed along. “He’s actually in the same industry as one of my husbands, then. My husband works in fashion, so their paths might have crossed at some point.” 

A look of nostalgia drifted across Ysabel’s face. “Larry actually has wood–elemental powers, just like Theodore. I honestly thought he’d choose to be a Healer, but he had his heart set on the silver screen. As long as he’s happy, we can’t complain. We shouldn’t meddle too much in the lives of the younger generation.” 

Margaret nodded in agreement. “Tell me about it! My daughter is the exact same way. We all thought she’d be happy working behind the scenes, but no, she ran off to become a detective. Thank goodness one of my sons–in–law is in the same department, or I’d be worried sick.” 

Up on the second floor, a three–year–old toddler looked up at his older cousin with wide eyes. “Larry, did you see the pretty lady downstairs?” 

Larry ruffled the toddler’s hair. “Yeah, I saw her.” 

“So, are you going to be her husband?” 

Larry nearly choked on his own spit. “What are you talking about?” 

“Hmph! You’re such a dummy, Larry,” the toddler huffed. “No wonder you’re still single!” 

Meanwhile, Ava was strolling through the Jones family gardens, scrolling through the messages on her Holoband. She sent out a quick update, explaining that she had officially been accepted as an apprentice and mentioning her upcoming enrollment at Starry Heavens University. 

Ryan wrote, ‘Ava is the best! Great job!‘ 

Ethan commented, ‘Congratulations, Ava. A double blessing in one day.‘ 

Mason added, ‘It seems Theodore is quite taken with you. He isn’t the type to stick his neck out for just 

anyone.‘
