Elena saw Sarah start teasing Ryan. She spoke up at once. “Sarah, at least save your brother some dignity in front of Ava.”Â
The way Elena said it didn’t really save Ryan much dignity either.Â
It looked like Ryan didn’t have much standing in this family.Â
That explained why he and Ethan were so different.Â
Ava thought this quietly.Â
Ryan’s face darkened. He turned to look at Ava. “Do you also think I’m not good?”Â
Ava sensed a bit of his hurt. She shook her head. “I don’t think you’re bad. Everyone has a different personality. Everyone is good at different things. You shine in your own field, too. I also don’t think working in entertainment is anything shameful.”Â
In a family like the Brock family, Ryan’s decision not to follow the family path and instead enter entertainment might make some people think he was irresponsible or wasting his potential. Some might even laugh at him for embarrassing the family.Â
But to Ava, no job was better or worse than another. As long as someone didn’t steal or do anything evil, anyone who lived seriously deserved respect.Â
Ryan was comforted right away. His heart felt warm. He felt that she really was his destined wife. Meeting her felt like the best thing that had ever happened to him.Â
Elena looked at her foolishly smiling youngest son. She almost didn’t want to admit he was hers.Â
But when she saw the sincere look on Ava’s face, she also felt a little happy. Maybe the saying was right. Simple people had good luck. Ryan really did come with lucky charm energy.Â
Ethan watched their interaction quietly from the side. He didn’t speak. He only looked at Ava gently. His Holoband suddenly lit up. He glanced at it and said to Ava, “Ava, sorry, I need to take a call.”Â
He walked into another room and closed the door.Â
Dylan walked over and spoke as he did. “It looks like it’s work. He won’t come out for a while. Ryan, take Ava around and show her the place.”Â
Ava stepped forward and said, “Mr. Brock, hello. I came today to thank you and Mrs. Brock for introducing me. You did so much for me behind the scenes. You treated me so sincerely. I’m very moved. Thank you, Mr. Brock. Thank you, Mrs. Brock.”Â
She bowed to them both.Â
Dylan smiled. “Ava, you’re too polite. Elena and I didn’t really help much. Theodore didn’t agree right away when we spoke to him. In the end, it was because you were good enough. You earned all of this yourself.”Â
Ava smiled, showing a small fang. “No matter what, it was because of your connection that Mrs. Jones noticed me and came to my coming–of–age party in person. That’s how I got to meet Mr. Jones.”Â

Dylan was touched by how sincere she was. He laughed softly. “I think I understand why Theodore changed his mind. You’re very capable, and your personality probably suits him very well. Don’t be fooled by how gentle he looks. He’s actually very cold inside. Very few people ever catch his eye.”Â
When the coming–of–age party was mentioned, Elena explained, “We originally wanted to attend your party too. But after thinking it over, we felt it wasn’t a good idea to make your relationship public yet. So we didn’t go. Ava, don’t feel awkward with me because of that.”Â
Ava smiled. “Mrs. Brock, you’re too kind. I understand. I’m very grateful for how much you care about me.”Â
Elena held Ava and looked her over again. “You really look best in a fitted dress. Ethan said jade suits you very well. If you like it, there’s more in storage. You can pick whatever you want later.”Â
Ryan saw his mother keep talking to Ava and couldn’t help but interrupt. “Mom, are you done? If you’re done, I’m taking Ava to have a look around.”Â
Elena looked at how impatient her youngest son was. He used to sulk the moment she mentioned introducing him to a girlfriend. Now he looked like he couldn’t wait one more second. He had really fallen in deep.Â
She clicked her tongue. So her sharp–tongued youngest son was actually the type who fell hard and got .carried away on his own..Â
Ava clearly didn’t have feelings for him yet.Â
Elena didn’t want to look anymore. She waved her hand. “Alright, alright. I’ll stop.”Â
“I want to go with Ava too,” Sarah said at once and stepped forward.Â
Ryan frowned. He finally had a chance to be alone with Ava. There was no way he would allow a third wheel, even if it was his sister.Â
“Your allowance doubles next month. I’ll get you tickets to my concert. I’ll also get you ten signed photos from each of those two.”Â
