Ava looked at the chat box, ‘Okay, see you tomorrow.”

Ava didn’t reply. She scrolled through Stellar Network and saw a voice message from Mason pop up. 

‘Are you free tomorrow? I want to ask you out.’ 

‘I’m sorry. I already made plans with Keith to go to their hospital for an enrollment physical tomorrow. I’m not free. 

‘Okay then. Are you free the day after tomorrow?‘ 

Ava hesitated for a moment before replying, ‘I’m free.’ 

“Then I’ll pick you up the day after tomorrow. The weather report says it’s going to snow tomorrow, so keep warm. I still have a meeting. Get some rest early. Good night. 

‘Mm. You too. Get some rest after your meeting. I’ll wait for you at home the day after tomorrow.‘

Her eyes lit up. “It’s snowing. Where I used to live, it never snowed. This is the first time in my twenty–five years that I’ve seen real snow.”

She held out one hand and let the snowflakes fall on her fingers and palm. The snow melted into water as soon as it touched her skin.

Keith pressed one hand over hers on the table and looked into her eyes. “Ava, you don’t have to do this.” “You all sent me yours. It’s only fair. I said I’d do it, so I should.” 

When he saw he couldn’t change her mind, Keith stopped trying. “Let’s go. I’ll take you through the staff fast track.” 

Ava smiled. “Isn’t that abusing your power?” 

He couldn’t help tapping her nose lightly. “You’re the future lady of the Holcomb Corporation. How is that abusing power?” 

Ava laughed. “Don’t say that. That’s your family’s.” 

“But I belong to you. So doesn’t what I have belong to you too?” 

He lowered his eyes to look at her. His eyes were full of affection. 

Ava’s face warmed. She cleared her throat and looked away. “Let’s go. I need to get the tests done. After they draw my blood, I’m going to eat breakfast. I’m starving! 

Seeing her avoid the topic, Keith smiled and didn’t say more. He tightened his grip on her hand a little. 

After the basic exams and several blood draws, Keith took Ava to the staff cafeteria for breakfast. There was also a large cafeteria near the exam area, but it was too crowded. He didn’t want to take her there. 

At that time, there were only one or two people in the staff cafeteria.
