“It could take a bit of time, I’m sorry darling.” I hate being away from her any more than I need to, especially after today. ‘No, it’s ok. I’m only asking as if you’re going to be a little while I was thinking that maybe Lily could come by and keep me company. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned about my mate it’s that she’s more than happy with her own company. Don’t get me wrong, she’s always happy for the company of other people, but she’s also just as happy to have some alone time so I can only assume that this is more for Lily’s benefit than her own. 

I’m sure she would love that.” I smile answering her as Shane’s eyes glaze over as he links his mate. “She’ll be here in a few minutes,” he says once his attention is back in the room. “Great, I’ll go pop the kettle on,” Bonnie says smiling before she leans up on her tiptoes and places a kiss on my cheek. “I’ll be in the lounge if either of you need anything,” She says just before she walks down the hallway. 

“I’m so glad you found her. She is great for you and she’s going to make one incredible Luna,” He says as we watch her walk away. “She already does.” I reply as pride swells inside of me. “That’s true.” He says as he pats me on the shoulder and we silently head for my office, the lightness of the last few minutes quickly fading away as the reality of Robbie’s situation comes storming back. 

Once we’re inside I pour us both a glass of whisky not missing the smirk on Shane’s face before I take a seat at my desk and he takes one right in front of me. ‘Don’t worry, I only plan to have the one,” I smirk. One brother in Robbie’s state tonight is more than enough. “Lilies here,‘ He comments just 

seconds before I hear the distant voices of our mates and it makes me smile. 

“It’s crazy how we got mated to best friends but after the lives they had and with how close they have always been I’m glad it happened. I’m glad they 

get to remain close.” maybe I sound sappy but I don’t care. “I’m with you brother know both of them would have been devastated to be apart.” He’s right 

Bonnie has told me more than once that it was always a fear for them and thank the moon goddess they never have to know how it feels, I’m never letting 

Bonnie–leave and I already know that Shanee would say the same. 

‘So… what’s going on with Robbie, Nick?” fuck, here we go. I take a large gulp of whiskey and figure out where to start as I enjoy the burn as it runs down my throat. “What do you think is going on?” He gives me a confused look but he’s not dull. “I think our little brother may have found his mate but if I’m right and he has then what I can’t figure out is why he seems so deversated. We all know how much he’s wanted to find his mate even when he’s tried to hide how badly he’s wanted it deep down we’ve all known the truth.” as I said he ain’t dull. It’s one of the things that makes him an incredible beta. 

“You’re right, he has found his mate but it’s not as simple as you think.” 

“I’m listening,” He grunts and the look on his face tells me that he already knows that he’s going to hate what I’m about to say but non less I take a deep breath and dive right in telling him all that I know so far and down the last of my whiskey while I let him mull over the information that he’s just 

learned.

‘Funny enough Robbie pretty much asked me the same thing and as I told him. I don’t know the answers to pretty much any of it right now but we’ll figure it out and will get through it.” 

‘We will.” he nods looking thoughtful. “Well get him through whatever happens.” 

‘I told him the same thing though I’m not sure if he’ll even remember any of this in the morning.” 

‘Fuck, poor bastard,” he grunts as he downs the last of his whiskey. 

“There is no more that we can do tonight so I suggest that we get some sleep because I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a nightmare in more ways than one he nods agreeing as he stands up and I follow him as he heads for the lounge. 

Within a few minutes both Shane and Lily have left, I’ve checked in on Robbie and I’m already in bed with my mate tucked into my side. Since the moment I left our flood to go and see Robbie all I’ve wanted is to get back to my mate for round two but now that we’re laying in bed it’s the last thing on my mind instead, I’m enjoying just being with her and feeling her wrapped around my body. 

Shit is going to get hard and rough after today with all the situations that we have going on right now. It’s something that could take a long ass time to
