Before Edwina could even say a word, Kelvin walked straight into the bedroom, his fingers making quick work of his shirt buttons. He peeled off the shirt and tossed it carelessly onto the bed.
Edwina followed him in, only to be greeted by the sight of Kelvin standing there bare–chested, his powerful physique impossible to ignore. His hand dropped to his belt.
There was a crisp click as the belt buckle popped open.
Kelvin paused, glancing at her. “Edwina, you planning to keep watching?”
Edwina’s wandering thoughts snapped back in an instant. Her expression turned cold and serious. “What do you think you’re doing?” she demanded.
“We’ve still got two hours, right? I’m gonna take a shower. Getting up here in this heat, I’m drenched in sweat,” Kelvin said casually.
Edwina just couldn’t bring herself to say no.
With a loud bang, she slammed the bedroom door shut.
She hated anyone interfering with her, but for reasons she couldn’t explain, she just couldn’t say no to Kelvin.
In the living room, the two guys were tiptoeing around, trying to peek inside.
Edwina hurled a cup right at their feet. They snapped to attention, not daring to look around anymore. After all, gossip was fun, but staying alive was way more important.
Ten minutes later, Kelvin’s voice drifted out from the bedroom.
“Edwina, could you grab me a towel?” he called out.
Edwina, sitting on the couch, finally let her usually calm face show a hint of frustration. She was just helpless when it came to Kelvin. He always knew how to leave her speechless.
“Edwina, are you just gonna leave me stranded in the bathroom? Kelvin called out again.
Edwina’s voice was icy. “Or you could just air dry, you know.”
“Sure, but that’d take ages. I don’t wanna miss the deadline,” Kelvin replied.
Edwina shoved aside the weird feeling in her chest and got up to grab him a towel.
The two guys in the living room were whispering in hushed tones.
“They must be a couple, right?” the chubby one whispered.
“Yeah, but the way they act around each other is kinda weird,” the skinny one replied.
“Shut up,” Edwina cut in coldly, giving them a cold look. The living room went dead silent in an instant.
She grabbed a towel from the cabinet and knocked on the bathroom door. The door opened just a sliver, and a strong arm
reached out.
Kelvin had smooth skin with a cool glow, the kind of complexion girls would kill for.
With no way to see, Kelvin fumbled around a couple of times, but instead of grabbing the towel, his hand landed on

Edwina’s arm by mistake. It was not on purpose.
Edwina, thinking he was doing it on purpose, shoved the towel at him. “Kelvin, don’t push your luck.”
“I didn’t…” Kelvin started to say.

Before Kelvin could finish his sentence, Edwina gave the door a sharp tug. It swung open, leaving Kelvin standing right there, with nothing left to hide.
He was caught off guard, standing in front of her, every inch on display.
His body, still glistening from the shower, looked even more irresistible under the bathroom lights. Edwina could see his abs and everything below them.
Both of them just stood there, stunned.
The next moment, Edwina stayed perfectly calm, while Kelvin got flustered and quickly turned away.
“Hold onto this,” she said coolly.
She tossed the towel right at him.
“Guys really need to watch out for themselves,” she added dryly.
Kelvin just stood there, gripping the towel, speechless. Edwina had him totally outmatched.
Abby had already finished her mission and snuck out of the room.
Outside the hotel, Beatrice was waiting for her. The two shared a triumphant grin, looking totally pleased with themselves.
“Mom, if it weren’t for your idea, I couldn’t have pulled off this double whammy. Now let’s see how that damn Edwina manages to wriggle out of this mess!” Abby sneered.
It was already four o’clock, and the press was camped out in front of Room 606, ready for action.
Beatrice rushed over, putting on a way–too–obvious worried face. “What are you all doing here? What are you trying to film?
“Get out of here now!”
Seeing Beatrice show up all flustered just made the reporters even more certain there was something scandalous going on in Room 606.
A reporter said, “Mrs. Lennox, please move aside. We received an anonymous tip–off that Miss Lennox was caught meeting up with a guy.”
Another asked, “Wasn’t she supposed to be getting engaged to Mr. Cole? What’s she doing sneaking around with another
man?”
The reporters‘ sharp questions didn’t bother Beatrice one bit. After all, it wasn’t Abby who was caught up in this mess. There was a smug glint in her eyes, though she pretended to look troubled.
“Everyone, this is a private matter for the Lennox family. Please don’t get too involved…” she said.
Right at four o’clock, the door to Room 606 swung open. All eyes were glued to the entrance as Edwina stepped out, moving with her usual calm.
The reporters started whispering among themselves.
A person said, “Wait, it’s not Abby. It’s Edwina.”

Another asked, “Wasn’t she kicked out of the Lennox family? This is not even close to juicy. We totally got played.”
The reporters, frustrated at missing out on the real scoop, turned their annoyance toward Edwina. She wasn’t exactly headline material, but at least she gave them something to gossip about.
Abby lingered around the corner, a satisfied smile playing on her lips.

Edwina had stomped all over her so many times before, but this time, with those two ugly punks in the picture, Abby was sure she’d finally make her pay.
She was dead set on ruining Edwina’s chances of ever getting married in Grindel City.
Abby thought, ‘So what if Edwina is pretty? She will be nothing but a used woman!‘
Beatrice gaped at her. “Edwina, I can’t believe it’s actually you.
“Word got out, so I rushed over to help you save face, but you are so shameless. You actually snuck out to mess around with some random guy!”
She put on a show of being heartbroken, but it was all for the cameras.
“Edwina, we kicked you out of the Lennox family to teach you a lesson, hoping you’d straighten out, but you just don’t get it, do you?” Beatrice said.
Edwina said calmly, “Beatrice, I’m not part of the Lennox family anymore. What gives you the right to tell me what to do?”
“Because I’m your elder. What you did is completely inappropriate,” Beatrice retorted.
The reporters lived for this kind of drama. They instantly started rolling their cameras, eager to catch every second.
Edwina slowly lifted her eyes, fixing Beatrice with a cold stare. “Mrs. Lennox, then tell me, what exactly have I done?”
“You were hiding a side chick in there!” Beatrice snapped, shoving Edwina aside as she stormed into the room.
“A side chick?” Kelvin’s deep, gravelly voice came from the bedroom as he stepped out, looking sharp in a crisp suit. “I’ve never been called that before.”
No one could believe that the man with Edwina was actually Kelvin.
“Edwina is my personal assistant. I was here for a meeting, got my clothes dirty, and she helped me clean up. Is that supposed to be a problem?” Kelvin replied.
With the way they both looked, calm, totally above board, there was no way this was some kind of scandal. It was definitely not the juicy drama Beatrice was trying to sell.
Beatrice felt a chill run down her spine.
“Something’s off. This doesn’t add up,” she muttered, charging straight into the bedroom.
She’d had people watching the door the whole time. No one went in, and no one came out.
‘How did those two guys just vanish? How did Kelvin even get in here?‘ Beatrice thought.
Beatrice was about to go off the rails, but Kelvin stepped in and blocked her path.
“Mrs. Lennox, you keep smearing my name, and now you wanna storm into my bedroom? Tell me, who’s really the one acting shameless here?” Kelvin shot back.
“I…” Beatrice was left speechless, frozen in place. All her careful plotting had just blown up in her face.
