Chapter 91Â
“What’s the fuss about? Calvert glanced at the receptionist coldlyÂ
Kamari was extremely delighted Calvert usually just passed by and never took the initiative to speak to her. This was the first time she had received such treatment.Â
She acted as if she had found someone to cling to and explained obsequiously, “This woman said that she’s your fiancée and asked me to report it to you. I knew at a glance that she was lying. How could she be worthy of such a wise and mighty person like you? So I stopped her on your behalfÂ
Ash stood on the spot with her arms crossed, watching the scene in front of her indifferently. She wanted to see what Calvert wanted to do.Â
“Who gave you the guts to make decisions for me?” Calvert said in an icy tone. “Go handle your resignation procedures yourself.”Â
Kamari didn’t expect this answer. Her expression froze as she tried to understand how this could happen.Â
The Snider Group offered excellent benefits and had high selection standards. It took all of Kamari’s effort to finally get in as a receptionist.Â
Calvert had always disliked meddling in others‘ affairs, which was why she had been helping him chase away unwanted women. But today, it seemed she made a big mistake.Â
Kamari instantly understood and looked at Ash pleadingly. “I was wrong. Please ask Mr. Snider not to fire me. I apologize to you.”Â
Before Ash could speak, Calvert said indifferently, “If you continue to pester me, I will revoke your severance pay.”Â
Hearing this, Kamari’s face turned pale. She instantly understood that what the woman before her had said was probablyÂ
true.Â
As she knew, Jade was Calvert’s fiancée. She didn’t know what was going on. Lost in her sorrow over the dismissal, Kamari had no time to ponder the situation further. She could only accept her fate. After all, severance pay was still a significant amount of money.Â
The security guard at the door witnessed the scene and felt a surge of satisfaction. This receptionist had always judged others by their looks and looked down on people like him. Now that she was facing dismissal, no one was stepping up to speak for her.Â
The guard’s gaze lingered on Ash. Even when Jade came to the company, he had never seen Calvert personally come down to welcome her. So he was determined to remember Ash’s face and not make the same mistake.Â
“Sorry, I didn’t train her properly.” There was a hint of regret in Calvert’s voice.Â
Ash looked up and saw his serious face. “It’s fine,” she said. She didn’t take such a small problem to heart as long as Calvert wasn’t doing it on purpose,Â
After the unpleasant incident earlier, Calvert chose to take her away from the office and brought her to a cafe.Â
After the two of them sat down, Calvert asked, “Tell me, why are you looking for me?”Â
Ash looked puzzled. ‘Isn’t he the one who wants to talk to me?‘Â
But she didn’t dwell on it. Since she was already there, it was a good opportunity to discuss the matter of the land with him.Â

Chapter 1Â
“Do you have some kind of misunderstanding about me? Ash asked straightforwardly.Â
Calvert gazed at her intently, puzzled. He had clearly seen her get into another man’s car right in front of him. That waniit a misunderstanding at all.Â
“I thought you were here to apologize, Calvert said, taking a sip of the coffee on the table. His every move exinded elegance and nobility.Â
After a moment, he set the cup down. “Now, it seems not”Â
“I apologize?” Ash furrowed her brows even deeper.Â
Seeing her innocent and unrepentant face, Calvert’s expression darkened. “Don’t you have an explanation for what happened between you and William?”Â
“There’s nothing between us. What are you even talking about?” Ash did not understand what Calvert was thinking.Â
