Now that Eleanor would accompany Ash, she would leave home and move around often. Without Jade, that conniving bitch. by her side, Ash would feel more free. 

Ash would be even happier if the Snider Group did not pursue Shadow Ventures relentlessly. 

“Ash,” Lachlan called out as she was about to leave. “Please come and look at the Arcade Enterprise you gave me when you’re free.” 

I’ve been very busy recently,” Ash rejected immediately. 

Ash was not in the mood to think about anything else until she obtained the plot of land in the Riverstone Commercial Area. 

Lachlan noticed Ash had been leaving home early and returning late these past few days. He looked at her and slowly said, “If there’s anything you need help with, you can tell me.” 

Upon hearing this, Ash’s eyes lit up. She might not necessarily be able to defeat Calvert using Shadow Ventures‘ power and influence. However, if the Turner family helped, that might not be the case. 

A hint of surprise appeared in Ash’s eyes. She turned around to confirm, “Can you help me?” 

Besides the occasional guidance from her mentor, Ash had always worked hard alone and rarely sought help from others, so she was a little unaccustomed to it. 

However, this was her brother, who was related to her by blood. 

Lachlan looked at his sister’s huge, innocent eyes, and old memories suddenly overlapped with reality. He remembered how she used to chase him around when they were younger. 

Ash was his biological sister. She should have been pampered until she had grown up. He couldn’t believe how hesitant she was to ask for help. 

“I’ll definitely do what you ask of me,” Lachlan said firmly. 

“I happen to have a presumptuous request.” Ash thought for a moment. “Do you mind stalling Calvert for a while so he doesn’t have time to meddle in Shadow Ventures‘ matters?” 

She recalled how heartless Calvert had been, so he shouldn’t blame her for being cruel. 

After Ash finished speaking, she looked at Lachlan and waited for his answer. 

“This…” Lachlan hesitated. He did not expect his sister to ask him to help her with her fiancé. 

During this period, Shadow Ventures and the Snider family were engaged in attacks against each other. Lachlan, who was in the business world, had long noticed this but did not expect Ash to be involved. 

After a while, he asked, “Do Mom and Dad know about this?” 

Ash shook her head. Her parents liked Calvert very much. If they knew that the two of them were plotting against each other, they would probably be disappointed again. 

Ash warned, “This secret stays between us. If you’re willing to help, you can’t tell Mom and Dad.” 

“Alright,” Lachlan agreed. Those familiar words brought him back to his childhood.

During their childhood, Ash had always been indifferent. She had been closer to her parents and always had nothing to say to him. After so many years of separation, they finally became a little more comfortable with each other. 

However, something seemed different when she explained her problem to him this time. She had broken the ice between them, and he no longer felt conflicted or guilty. 

She thanked him, “Thank you, Lachlan.” 

When he saw a smile finally appear on Ash’s sweet face, Lachlan’s expression softened a little. She used to thank him and smile when he bought her candy during their childhood. 

Ash’s worry dissipated now that Lachlan was helping her. 

Calvert was indeed influential in the business world. He was not inferior to her and even showed signs of surpassing her. 

Ash turned around and left. She headed to Shadow Ventures for a meeting to adjust her plan to grab the land.
