Chapter 100 

Lachlan wondered what kind of person Calvert was. He probably knew for a while that Rick had a good relationship with the Turner family. A long time ago, Rick was Lachlan’s mentor and had been the Turner family’s business consultant for three to five years. 

Lachlan asked Rick for a favor to see if he could stall Calvert. He wanted to know exactly how much Calvert cared about this land. 

“Riverstone’s Commercial Area indeed has a lot of room for development. If you’re willing to listen to my advice, don’t put too much effort into this land.” Lachlan called Rick to help, and he was willing to do so despite not knowing the twists and turns behind the scenes. 

Lachlan agreed with Rick’s advice, a hint of worry appearing on his face. 

That night, after dinner, Ash took out her computer and was about to do something when she heard a knock on the door. followed by her brother’s voice. 

“Ash, can I come in?” Lachlan asked. 

Ash quickly turned off the computer and walked quickly to the door. She opened it and asked, “Lachlan, what’s wrong?” 

“I want to talk to you about that piece of land.” Lachlan’s expression was gentle, and he was holding a cup of hot chocolate in 

his hand. 

She nodded without hesitation and made way for him. They stood on the balcony, and Lachlan handed her the cup. “When you were young, you always liked to drink hot chocolate before bed. I wonder if you stopped this habit now that you’re older?” 

Ash was touched by his gesture. She reached out and took the cup. This was the best thing about family. One small gesture could bring you closer together. 

“I still love it. Thank you, Lachlan,” Ash said. 

A faint smile appeared on her lips. “Lachlan, what do you want to say to me?” 

Lachlan explained, “Riverstone’s Commercial Area is quite important, and I believe Calvert has already prepared to buy it. Although it’s a bid, Calvert has probably taken care of all the people involved in the bid process.” 

Ash thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. Lachlan was as capable as Calvert in business. He could quickly grasp the details of a business project. “So you mean it will be difficult to acquire this land?” 

Lachlan shook his head and said slowly, “It won’t be difficult. As far as I know, the Snider family’s businesses in the medical sector are just emerging. I can try to make a fuss and divert Calvert’s attention. At the same time, I can make Riverstone’s Commercial Area bid big. Everyone will know about it.” 

“I understand!” A faint smile appeared on Ash’s beautiful face. 

When Lachlan saw her smile, his heart softened a little. He subconsciously raised his hand and rubbed her head like he did when he was young. He said gently, “No matter what, I will always support you.” 

This sudden intimacy stunned Ash. Caspian, whose room was next door, saw the intimate scene. 

Caspian instantly felt this moment was too heartwarming and cleared his throat. He felt a little uncomfortable. “What are you two doing so late at night?”

“As you can see, chatting.” Ash turned her attention to Caspian. She looked over the balcony next door. “Why haven’t you left yet?” 

“Does it have anything to do with you? This is my home. I can leave whenever I want, Caspian retorted. 

“Oh,” Ash replied nonchalantly. “This is my house, too. I can also do whatever I want. There’s no need to explain to you Lachlan, let’s go and talk inside. Someone is too much of an eyesore.” 

“You…” Caspian retorted.
