Chapter 317Â
“Do I look like a little kid to you? You think I’m that easy to trick?” Juliana suddenly let out a twisted, menacing laugh.Â
She was so far gone, so paranoid, that nothing could get through to her now.Â
“So what do you want me to do for you to finally believe I’m telling the truth?” Aurelia asked.Â
Juliana’s smile grew even colder and more sinister. “I’ll believe you when you’re dead, because only the words of the dead can be trusted.”Â
“You’re insane,” Aurelia blurted out, a chill running down her spine as she saw the madness in Juliana’s eyes.Â
Right now, the cruise ship was hosting a party, and most people were off having fun.Â
The rooms were soundproofed, so even if Aurelia screamed her lungs out, no one would hear her.Â
If it weren’t for that, Juliana wouldn’t have dared to kidnap her so openly.Â
64Â
In addition, Aurelia had been spending most of her time in her room working or resting these past couple of days. No one would even notice if she went missing for a few hours.Â
Aurelia was restless and desperate inside.Â
Juliana saw right through her and laughed hysterically. “Just give up already. This whole cruise ship is property of the Sands family.Â
“We’re in international waters now, where there are no laws or rules. I can do whatever I want, and nobody can save you.”Â
Aurelia felt a chill run down her spine.Â
She thought, ‘No wonder Juliana dared to kidnap me so brazenly. It turns out that the cruise ship is owned by the Sands Group. If Juliana is telling the truth and we are already out in international waters…Â
Chills raced down Aurelia’s spine, her skin crawling with fear.Â
If Juliana wasn’t totally crazy, Aurelia might’ve been able to buy herself some time.Â
But the problem was, Juliana really was insane.Â
Juliana didn’t even let Aurelia think for a second. With a quick gesture, her bodyguards, who were waiting on either side. grabbed Aurelia and dragged her out onto the balcony.Â
Panic took over, and Aurelia couldn’t help but scream for help.Â
Juliana stepped out after Aurelia, her twisted smile growing wider. The sea breeze whipped her red dress around, making her look both crazy and sinister.Â
She mocked Aurelia for being so naive. “Those women who tried to cozy up to Darren screamed for help just like you, before they got tossed into the sea. Did it save them? In the end, they were all fed to the sharks.”Â
Even Aurelia, usually so composed, found herself thrown off balance.Â
Aurelia explained hurriedly, “There’s really nothing going on between Darren and me.”Â
“I don’t care,” Juliana replied with a smile. “Let me spell it out for you. I’ll get rid of any woman Darren even glances at. IÂ
never let them have a chance.”Â

Chapter 317Â
She’s out of her mind, and a complete psycho, Aurelia thought.Â
In that instant of terror, Juliana’s expression shifted, and she barked at her bodyguards, “Throw her overboard!”Â
Suddenly, Aurelia felt herself being lifted into the air.Â
Two massive bodyguards, each towering over six feet, picked her up effortlessly.Â
Before she could even cry out, she was swept up by the sensation of falling.Â
The wind howled, waves slammed against the hull, and just like that, the endless, devouring darkness of the sea swallowed her desperate screams.Â
Juliana smiled, then tipped the remaining half glass of red wine into the sea.Â
It was as if she were mourning the dead.Â
Inside the room, Joey, who’d been shaking like a leaf, witnessed everything and totally freaked out.Â
She lost it, screaming and biting like crazy.Â
Her teeth sank into the bodyguard’s hand, causing blood to gush out, and he yelped, letting go.Â
Joey made a break for it, sprinting out of the room and yelling at the top of her lungs, “Help! Help!”Â
Juliana’s expression shifted. “Quick! Get her back here!”Â
The bodyguards rushed out the door, but then started backing away.Â
“What are you doing?” Juliana shrieked, her voice wild and manic. “Hurry up and grab that little brat for me.”Â
She barely finished yelling when Darren strode in, his face icy.Â
“D–Darren.” Juliana’s voice faltered, all that crazy bravado gone in an instant.Â
“Save Aurelia. They threw Aurelia into the sea!” Joey screamed, her words clearer than ever.Â
Darren’s expression changed in an instant.Â
In the next second, Darren sent Juliana flying with a powerful kick.Â
If the bodyguards hadn’t caught her just in time, she would’ve been kicked straight overboard.Â
Juliana was still unsteady when she saw a dark figure leap over the railing and dive into the sea without hesitation.Â
Aurelia couldn’t swim to save her life.Â
It never seemed like a problem before. But only now did it hit her that knowing how to swim could mean the difference between life and death.Â
The winter sea was bone–chilling. She flailed desperately, but after just a few kicks, a wave slammed her down and dragged her under.Â
The icy water stabbed into her like a thousand frozen needles, piercing right through her flimsy dress and invading everyÂ
pore.Â
The cold pierced straight to her bones, chilling her to the marrow.Â
She couldn’t even get out a full scream.Â

Chapter 317Â
The bottomless sea swallowed up every sound she made, like a ravenous maw devouring its prey.Â
Saltwater came rushing into her mouth and nose.Â
The briny, overpowering taste was brutal, scraping her throat raw like rough sandpaper.Â
The suffocating feeling never left her side, haunting her every second.Â
It was like an invisible hand was crushing her lungs, squeezing the life out of her, making it impossible to breathe.Â
Air was slipping away fast, and her mind was blaring warning signals, teetering on the edge of blackout from lack of oxygen.Â
She flailed her arms and kicked desperately in the water, trying to reach for anything, even a straw.Â
But all Aurelia’s fingertips brushed against was the icy, suffocating, endless water.Â
Her body sank helplessly, completely beyond her control.Â
Slowly, the ship’s lights blurred and scattered, swallowed by the night.Â
Just as darkness was about to claim her, the water above rippled once more.Â
*****Â
Aurelia snapped awake, the suffocation still clawing at her chest.Â
She sucked in fresh air, gulp after gulp, just to make sure she was really alive.Â
Darren was out on the balcony, phone pressed to his ear. His voice was all edge, none of his usual warmth.Â
“Save your begging. Juliana hurt someone, so she has to pay for what she did. I’ve already called the psychiatric hospital. They’ll be here soon to haul her off,” Darren said.Â
“Don’t use Zofia to plead for Juliana. If it wasn’t for Zofia, Juliana wouldn’t have survived the night. If the Sands family really wants to stick their nose in this, then don’t blame me when I cut off all support for the Sands Group.Â
“You know very well that without the Keith Group backing you up, the Sands Group won’t survive three months. I’ve already gone above and beyond for the Sands family.”Â
With that, Darren hung up, ignoring the desperate begging of Joseph, Juliana’s father, on the other end.Â
He turned around, saw that Aurelia was awake, and rushed over, concern written all over his face. “You’re awake? Are you feeling any discomfort?”Â
Aurelia’s voice came out hoarse. “I’m having trouble breathing.”Â
“That’s just the aftermath of nearly drowning. The doctor said your lungs are a little swollen up,” Darren explained.Â
He personally poured her a glass of water so she could moisten her dry mouth and throat.Â
After taking the glass, Aurelia asked, “How’s Joey?”Â
“She’s really shaken up. The psychologist is with her right now,” Darren replied.Â
“What about Juliana?” Aurelia pressed.Â
“She’s in the room next door,” Darren answered.Â
Worried that Aurelia would be afraid, he quickly explained. “Someone’s watching her. The boat that’s coming for her will beÂ
