Chapter 248 

As anger surges through my body, I stand up and before I can stop myself, I hurl a glass at the wall in front of me and stay still as I watch the glass shatter and fly around the room, and while it stems a little of my anger, it’s not enough. I turn around and pick up my chair, but as I go to throw it at the same wall, I realise I can’t let go of it. What the fuck? I turn to face the chair to find my dad standing 

there with a tight hold on the chair. 

“What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be guarding my family?” Seeing my dad here and knowing he’s not with my mate and children just increases my anger. “Calm down, son. Johnathan is there with Shane and Tony. You know perfectly well that I wouldn’t ever leave them unprotected, so don’t start with me!” His words are firm, but still hold the gentleness that is my dad. I nod my head and let go 

of the chair before I take my anger out on the wrong person. 

My dad places the chair back down on the ground before walking around to the front of my desk and taking a seat. We start talking about the women that we need to go and talk to, and it makes my heart ache, but no matter how bad I feel, we have to go and talk to them face to face. It is the least they deserve, considering what we are going to tell them… 

It takes us a couple of hours to make our way around all of the women, and as you can imagine, it was an incredibly hard thing to do. Seeing their faces as they took in the news is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. And Opal… Well, Opal took it the best out of all of them. How does the one woman who got the worst end of things take the news the best? In her own words, “I have my boys and I wouldn’t change a thing. We are thinking about adopting a little girl to complete our family.” That woman has incredible strength, and I’m proud of her. 

After speaking with the women and their mates and offering them any future support that is needed, I decided that it was time to head home and spend some time with my family. Today has been hell, and I couldn’t think of a better way to end it than being with my mate and children. Children… goddess, I have two children now. 

I walk through the main door to my lounge area with my dad right behind me to find my mom, Lily and Rosie chatting while Tony, Shane, and Johnathan are off to the side at the breakfast bar drinking coffee. All three men come alert when they hear me enter the floor, but immediately relax when they see me. “Bonnie and Lottie were both falling asleep, so I sent them to bed,” My mom says as she stands 

up with my son in her arms. 

She walks over and hands him to me, and my heart skips a beat when I look down at his face. “Thank you, all of you, for staying here.” I look around the room as everyone starts gathering their stuff to leave while nodding my way. 

Once everyone has left, I turn to head for my bedroom, only to be greeted with the sight of my mate as she walks out of the bedroom. Her hair is all over the place, and she looks exhausted and yet she’s never looked more beautiful. My heart pounds as I think of how far we have come in such a short space of time, and before I can stop myself, words leave my mouth that I didn’t plan to say yet but I don’t 

regret them. 

“Marry me.”
