Later in the afternoon January couldn’t stop staring at Glenn as they sat in a warehouse where they were going to see Davis and Baldy, Apparently Ford felt very much the men needed to be hosed down before January was in front of them. Gulliver had agreed when Ford reminded him both men had defecated the night before and were still sitting in it.
“What is your problem?” he finally hissed at her.
“That’s a hickey!”
His smile suddenly popped up on his face, “yeah. Ernst decided it was silly for me to sleep on the sofa.” He tugged her t–shirt, “we’re twinning by the way.”
“Ernst wanted you to sleep with him in your bed. With his mother in the next room?”
“Isn’t she a hoot?” Glenn leaned forward excitedly. “I’m going to introduce my parents to her later. I can’t wait to watch her rip my father a new asshole.”
“I thought you were working things out with him.”

“He didn’t seem upset.”
“I can’t help it. I always feel he’s watching and judging.”
“That’s fair.” She pursed her lips.
“Your mother was staying with Kaylee today. You got everything all ironed out with her?”
“I did. Davis was extorting her. He has shit on Dad to make it look like Dad participated in some illegal activity with my uncle. Chop shop type stuff.”
“Gulliver got all of that last night. He made sure there is nothing on your parents or you anywhere in the FBI database or in any documentation Davis has. Our IT guy, our lead tech fella, went into Davis’s condo and went through everything personally. He sent everything he could get. We also had a guy actually break into the FBI building and clean out Davis’s office there too.”
“No way.”
“Yes. Do you know how calculating you need to be to break into the FBI?”
“I can only imagine,” the scuffling of feet made her look towards the open door. “Is it showtime?”

on his knees and grinning, “Gulliver is really taking, this shit personally. He threatened to put the bat up Davis’s ass last night and usually it’s Ford with the weird and gross ideas.”
“He wouldn’t really put a bat up is,” her voice trailed off at Glenn’s raised eyebrows. “Wow.”
“Gulliver was always the intense one growing up. He usually kept us on task and made sure we did the things we were supposed to do but there isn’t anything that man wouldn’t do to get results he wanted. He’s bloody brilliant and he loves a damn good puzzle. Davis is a puzzle to him. It’s driving Gulliver nuts how someone with an IQ high enough to get into the FBI is deranged enough that he would target a teenager as a possible partner and then believe it’s some kind of mate bond like in a werewolf or vampire romance novel. The team in Davis’s apartment found a Team Jacob t–shirt.”
“No way,” she giggled in spite of herself. Her eyes drifted back to the doorway as Gulliver himself was shoving carrying Davis with another man. “Holy shit. Gulliver said he hit him with a bat on the knees and stuff, but his legs are just dragging. Did you paralyze him?”
“Maybe? Gulliver did crack his back pretty damn good when he was hanging.” Glenn slowly rose up on his feet to help his brother put the man back up on the hook through the ropes at
his wrists.
“He’s not even awake.” January frowned and then noted Ford arriving with Baldy. “He looks worse than Davis.”

She grimaced at the notion. “You didn’t go hard on him and he is likely paralyzed. I feel like you’re not telling full truths.”
Glenn called over his shoulder as he and Gulliver got Davis suspended the way they wanted and stood back to examine their handywork, “Gully wanted him bleeding from every orifice and his cock removed instead of just maimed. We practiced restraint.”
“It looks like it.” January looked at Baldy who seemed to be coming around, his eyes fluttering and low groans escaping his lips. “How come he’s awake and Davis isn’t?”
“Ford gave Davis a shot of animal tranquilizer before we left this morning. He’ll give him a reversal agent shortly.”
“Why?”
“We didn’t want him to die before you got to talk to him. A drug–induced coma was the best way to keep him from succumbing to his injuries.” Ford explained as he approached January and pulled her into a hug. “We didn’t get to chat last night. You were incredible and brave and I’m so proud of you.”
“Thanks Ford.”
“If you decide the mafia prince over there isn’t worth the second chance, just remember I can help you manage Kaylee’s animal encounters.”
“Flirt with my wife again, Ford and I’ll bury you with these two assholes.”
