KEITH’S POV

The meeting with my lawyers didn’t last very long. I mean it was a pretty straightforward case with an outcome we all anticipated on the day of the hearing.

My lawyers confirmed what I had already been thinking. That this was an open and shut case. They thought that as soon as the judge opened the file he would quickly come to a decision. We might not even need the second hearing. Jasmine I’m sorry but you’ve lost this one.

I escorted the lawyers to the door and we agreed to have a final discussion on our plan for Monday just before the weekend. I then got back to my desk to continue doing paperwork before I had my next meeting. It was about an hour later around midmorning when Edward returned to my office.

Sir, the CEOs of all the subsidiaries have arrived in the meeting room,he informed

  1. me.

Okay, let’s go,” I said as I got up from my desk seat and left my office with him. Upon arriving I found the subsidiary managers/CEOs seated. They greeted me as I went to stand at the head of the table.

I greeted the men back and started the meeting. Among all the attendees my eyes landed on my halfbrother for a moment then looked away. He was also one of the subsidiary CEO’s present. His branch operated in the city of Polister so he didn’t live in Yorkshire.

Thank you all for coming, gentlemen,I started. As you we will be discussing the current performance of all subsidiaries.

I then turned to Edward who was near me to start the presentation on the projector which at behind me at the front of the meeting room.

So as a formality we have to start withI continued and pointed to the screen.

Nearly, 3 hours later the meeting came to end and I made final announcement. Please, there is lunch being served

The meeting had been so long that it went over lunchtime so I had a meal plan ready ahead of time. I made my way to the cafeteria with them where we continued discussions we had had in the meeting room.

After lunch many of the Managers said their goodbyes to me and and leaving to return their respective HQ’s. I noticed I had lost Edward who had disappeared during lunch. As I left the cafeteria I saw Kolton walking down.

Kolton,I greeted him being polite.

Keith,” he greeted as well.

Moments later I found Edward coming from the same direction.

Edward where did you go I’ve been looking for you?I asked him.

I apologize sir, I was making a call to my mother,” he said to me.

When I arrived home later that evening I felt a heavy weight come over. The feeling heightened when I was greeted by Diana when I entered the dressing room of our bedroom. She was holding sone dresses and inspecting them. My eyes unconsciously went to her belly recalling she was pregnant.

How was your day Darling?she asked me.

It was good dear, and yours?I asked, trying to match her cheery energy. What are doing?I asked her as I looked at the clothes she held.

Just going through some outfits wear in the next days, she answered. Maybe this one Incan wear at the court hearing. When is it again, Monday?she asked me.

I internally frowned at the fact that that was what was on her mind.

You know you don’t have to come,I tried to convince her. I want you to take it easy you’re pregnant after all.”

I’m pregnant not disabled Keith I already told you I want to support you as well,” she was adamant.

Hopefully, she wouldn’t find out about the lie I had told her that I wasn’t.

Okay,I ended the discussion not wanting to fight.

We had dinner together and then we went back to the bedroom.

She then began kissing me. Whilst I gave for a moment I was eventually thrown off when she tried to go further.

Diana, let’s not,I let her down as gently as I could. I really wasn’t in the mood it was taking a concerted to find the words to say.

A sour expression was on her face at my rejection. She got off me.

Why does it always feel I am the one initiating things. I always ask for sex or a kiss,” she complained.

I feel we have a lot to think about Diana. Our future, our child. My upcoming divorce settlement. I think we sho

Her lips pressed into a thin line showing annoyance.

This is the third time you’re asking for time and space. I keep on giving it to you for the past weeks. Do you not see how patient I am being?she asked me.

And I’m grateful for your patience. But we’re not teenagers where everything was so much easier and we had fewer worries,I told her.

Her eyes flashed me a look of hurt. I feel like you’re just making excuses now. All this time I had been giving you what you ask for hoping you’ll eventually come around. But it feels like your attention is elsewhere and we are growing further apart.”

Like my attention is where?I asked her.

What really happened to your face, Keith?I asked. I recalled the lie I had told her about my encounter with Jasmine.

Huh?I said as if I didn’t know.

You’re interested in her aren’t you?she asked me.

My eyes widened in shock. I’m not a cheater. I would never cheat. Diana you’re overthinking this,I tried to deescalate her thoughts.

Am I?she asked hysterically. Am I really?”

Diana-I started, but was cut off.

-I’m the one you hurt Keith so why can’t you choose me!? Are you going to abandon me again?! Because that’s what it feels like,” she complained her eyes filled with tears. You never used to be like this. You were always kind and caring. You now feel so cold.I bit my lip as that annoying feeling of guilt came over me once again. I’m not going to abandon you or our child Diana,I told her. The next words almost couldn’t leave my mouth. We are going to get married, I promise. Once this divorce is settled I promise.I brought my hand to her face and tried I hope that’s true, she said as she then moved away from me dodging my hand. She then got up from my bed Im going to get some air.”

I watched her leave the bedroom and shamefully instead of feeling bad I felt relieved.
