Chapter 201Â
Chloe used up all her points to redeem the dogs‘ loyalty.Â

After that, the dogs lying on the ground finally woke up. She went ahead and named them Dog One, Dog Two, all the way to Dog Twelve. Weirdly enough, each dog instantly recognized its name, like they’d always known it.Â
It must be the system’s doing.Â
The two men, shaking on the floor, saw all twelve dogs slowly get up, and their eyes sparkled with hope.Â
They tried to rip off the tape on their mouths, trying to command the dogs to attack Chloe. But what happened next left them stunned.Â
The twelve dogs just strolled over to Chloe like it was no big deal, and flopped down, showing her their bellies.Â
In the animal world, showing belly meant total trust or recognizing someone as the master. Otherwise, it was just not gonna happen.Â
The belly was their softest spot. Only their closest friends or their owner ever got to see that side of them.Â
They wondered, ‘How is that possible?‘ Before they could even process what was happening, Chloe peeled the tape off one of their mouths.Â
She pulled out a fancy armchair from her spiritual space, plopped down, and started rocking back and forth, looking totallyÂ
at ease.Â
She held up Noah’s photo, studying it closely. “So, who’s this guy in the picture? And why are you after him?”Â
One of the man’s eyes narrowed with suspicion. ‘What does she mean by that?‘ he thought.Â
“So, you’ve met the guy in the photo, haven’t you?” He asked. His tone made it clear he wasn’t really asking.Â
No sooner had he spoken than Chloe’s foot smashed into his mouth, sending blood gushing from his nose.Â
“Let me remind you. Who’s interrogating who here?” Chloe snapped.Â
She stood up from the armchair, pressing the gleaming dagger against the other guy’s cheek, making sure he felt the threat,Â
“Why don’t you tell me? Who’s the guy in the photo?” she demanded.Â
Then she put on a lovestruck face. “Damn, he’s really a looker. Spill the beans. Maybe I’ll just drag him home and make him my live–in hubby.”Â
As soon as she said that, both men’s faces fell in disappointment.Â
“Turns out she’s only interested in his looks. Looks like she really doesn’t know who Noah is at all, they thought.Â
Just as Chloe was about to say something else, she saw both men bite down hard, and a stream of inky black blood oozed from the corners of their mouths.Â
She shot to her feet, her eyes turning icy cold.Â
“These guys aren’t just assassins. They’re suicide operatives!‘ Chloe realized.Â
‘Why didn’t they just off themselves with poison the moment they were caught?‘ Chloe wondered.Â

After thinking it over for a second, she figured out what was really going on.Â
These two must have a way to contact their boss. Usually, arrogant captors end up revealing their plans to prisoners.Â
Guess they thought Chloe would let something slip in front of two helpless prisoners, and they’d have a chance to get the info out.Â
Chloe’s instincts screamed danger. She didn’t hesitate. She just flicked her wrist, and a tornado packed with slicing, winds tore the men apart, leaving nothing but scraps behind.Â
She skipped the scavenging. With a casual wave, a camper van popped up out of nowhere. She shoved the dogs inside, jumped behind the wheel, and floored it straight toward the base.Â
‘Noah’s presence here might have been exposed, Chloe thought.Â
In the most lavish estate of the Elite District, at the very top floor of the castle, a man stood in his office, his face clouded with anger.Â
He bore a striking resemblance to Noah, but when all his features came together, there was a menacing edge to his expression.Â
A dozen men in black stood silently around him, eyes lowered and lips sealed, none daring to utter a word.Â
“Did someone cut the comms?” he growled.Â
He looked up and slammed his glass down on the desk with a loud bang, the sound hitting every man in black like a punch to the gut.Â
They all flinched, startled by the sudden noise.Â
The man sat back down in his chair, his hand drumming lightly on the mahogany desk, each tap making the atmosphere even more suffocating.Â
With every tap, the hearts of the men in black thudded wildly in their chests.Â
“Do you think that girl knows Noah?” he said, his tone icy.Â
His sharp, predatory gaze bore into the silent men in black, not letting a single one escape his scrutiny.Â
“All those hitmen you sent out are a bunch of losers! They can’t even track down a single person!” he snapped.Â
“Mr. Leonel Fletcher, Mr. Noah Fletcher got hit with some kind of new virus. Maybe he’s already dead, and that’s why we can’t find him,” one of the men in black stammered.Â
His hand froze mid–tap, and his voice went cold. “I want him found, dead or alive. Bring me proof.”Â
He couldn’t relax until he saw Noah’s corpse with his own eyes.Â
Just then, hurried footsteps echoed outside, and a woman with a killer figure walked in.Â
Her voice was so seductive that it could melt people’s bones. “Mr. Leonel Fletcher, Mr. Alfred Fletcher is here.”Â
The man shot up from his chair so fast that he knocked over a second glass, which hit the floor with a sharp, ringing clatter.Â
Just as he stood up, a man well into his seventies walked in.Â

His hair was streaked with white, and the years had carved lines into his face, but his eyes were still sharp and full of life. He moved with a natural authority that commanded respect.Â
Even now, you could still catch a hint of the imposing figure he must have been in his youth.Â
“Any news on Noah?” Alfred asked, his voice tense.Â
Hearing Noah’s name, a flash of worry showed in his eyes.Â
Leonel’s arrogance disappeared in a flash. In front of Alfred, he bowed his head respectfully, all traces of defiance gone.Â
He said, “Grandpa, things are a mess out there with the apocalypse. I’ve sent out so many people, but nobody’s been able to track down Noah.”Â
Alfred fixed Leonel with a cold, piercing stare, his voice icy and devoid of any warmth.Â
“Noah is the only heir of the Fletcher family. You, a nameless bastard, think you have the right to be the heir?” Alfred said, his tone dripping with contempt.Â
A flash of venom flickered in Leonel’s lowered eyes. “Yes,” he muttered, barely hiding the malice in his voice.Â
His fists were clenched so hard his nails broke the skin, blood seeping out. His chest was rising and falling, barely holding back the rage that threatened to explode.Â
‘Why? We’re both Dad’s sons! So why does Noah get to be the only heir of the Fletcher family, while I’m not even allowed to have the Fletcher surname?‘ he thought.Â
He hated them. All of them.Â
He hated his father for straying, hated that scheming woman for luring him in, and hated Alfred most of all for only ever caring about Noah.Â
Something dark flashed through his mind, and a sinister grin crept across his lips.Â
‘You old geezer, you’ll never lay eyes on your precious grandson again!‘ he thought to himself.Â
If Noah kicked the bucket, the title of heir would be his, fair and square.Â
Not like there’s anyone else left in the Fletcher family bloodline anyway.Â
Just then, Alfred let out a heavy sigh. “Go get the best people from the side branches. I’m calling a family meeting.”Â
The man’s head snapped up, eyes full of disbelief.Â
“Grandpa… No, Mr. Alfred Fletcher, what do you want with them?” he blurted out, still in shock.Â
Alfred gave him a scornful glance. “You’re not even someone who deserves a seat at the table. Do I need your approval to bring them in?”Â
Then he turned and walked out.Â
He left Leonel standing there, his face twisted with venomous resentment.Â
Gritting his teeth so hard they creaked, he glared at Alfred’s back as he walked away.Â
‘You stubborn old fool, you’d rather give that spot to some nobody from the side family than to your own flesh and blood?Â

Fine. Whoever you favor, I’ll make sure they meet a bad end!‘ he thought to himself, his eyes burning with malice.Â
“Get everyone moving! Send all our men across the river. I want Noah found before anyone else does!” he barked.Â
