Chapter 172 

Ash leaned against the wall and said, “The leak of the Triple–A Game proposal has already had a serious impact. If there are more love scandals, it will only have a greater impact on the company’s future development. 

“The most important thing is to deal with this matter as soon as possible.” 

She had given an explanation, but Calvert’s face darkened even more. 

Obviously, he was angry. 

But Ash couldn’t understand what he was angry about, or why he was suddenly angry again. 

The three of them sat on the living room sofa, each taking up one side. Ash occupied the largest one in the middle, leaning back comfortably. She looked at the two of them. “Do I need to excuse myself?”

Ash originally wanted to watch the drama unfold quietly, but Jade didn’t give her the chance, cueing her from time to time. 

Ash suddenly stood up, sat down next to Calvert, took his arm, leaned her head on his shoulder, and curled her lips. “Jade, don’t feel that way. 

“Calvert and I have never been influenced by others. Besides, this is obviously a malicious hype. We’re not fools, so how could we be led by the nose? 

“I’m so sorry to have worried you, Jady.” Ash had just the right smile on her face, and there was a hint of triumph in her eyes. 

Jade’s face was filled with guilt, but she clenched her fists and forced a calm expression. “That’s good. Seeing you and Calvert so happy, I’m content. 

“Then I won’t bother you any longer. I have a night shoot tonight, so I’ll go back to the set first. I’ll deal with the rest as soon as possible to minimize the impact.” Jade stood up, her heart burning with hatred. 

Ash was still holding his arm, and she hummed in agreement. “Okay, take care. Calvert and I won’t see you out. There’s no need to go out of your way to do this in the future.”

After Jade left, Ash, as if electrocuted, immediately released her hand from Calvert’s arm and kept a safe distance. 

Calvert glanced at the arm that she had just touched, lowered his eyes, and said in a low voice, “Am I your tool that you can throw away when you’re done?” 

“No, I can be your tool when needed. We call this a win–win situation. The way you put it hurts my feelings. 

He sneered. Seeing her eloquent words, his tone was somewhat sarcastic. “Feelings? Our relationship is just a cooperative one. What feelings can there be?” 

Ash thought, ‘What a petty person.‘ 

She hummed heavily. “Yes, you are right. I was presumptuous. Now that the meal is over and the show is over, may I leave?” 

“I’ll see you out.” 

She was confused. “You’re seeing me out? You’re still injured. How can you see me out? After you see me out, will I have to send you back? 

“There’s no need to be gentlemanly at this time. I brought someone with me today. Don’t worry, it will be very safe. Take care and recuperate. I’ll still need you for the family gathering in a few days.” 

Ash patted him on the shoulder, like coaxing a child, “Get well soon, I’m still waiting for you to make me proud.” 

He said, “You’re patting me like I am a dog.” 

She let out two dry laughs. She didn’t expect Calvert to be quite self–aware. 

Then she said, “Why would you say that? I’m cheering you on. You must get well soon. I’m leaving now. Goodbye. Don’t see 

me out.” 

She went downstairs and keenly noticed that someone seemed to be taking pictures of her. Ash casually opened the car door and got in. She found the photographer through the rearview mirror. He was at the corner downstairs, dressed in black, almost blending in with the night. 

“Eleanor, about a hundred yard diagonally behind, a man about 5 foot 8 tall. Are you confident you can handle him?” Ash turned her wrist. She was really walking right into a trap. 

Eleanor received the message and immediately followed her gaze. She smiled knowingly. “Boss, of course. Shall we switch places now? Watch me.” 

In order not to startle the other party, the two easily switched places in the car as usual, and Ash sat in the driver’s seat. 

Ash first turned around normally, pretending to be following the normal route.
