He thought, ‘She just goes with whatever works for her. 

‘If she can fight, she fights. If she can’t win, she runs. If she can’t escape, she admits defeat.’ 

But he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about Chloe’s sudden change.

Noah looked calm and indifferent on the surface, but his hand behind his back was slightly clenched into a fist, clearly wrestling with his emotions. 

Thin threads of lightning formed at his fingertips, and right as he was about to strike, the situation suddenly flipped. 

No one knew what Chloe said, but Frankie’s expression finally softened, and he actually let her off the hook. 

“Are you really someone with a healing ability?” Frankie asked uncertainly. 

Healing abilities and space–powered abilities were the rarest powers around, and they were extremely scarce in every team. 

If a team had someone with a healing ability, it could significantly reduce casualties among its members. 

“Of course. If you don’t believe me, I’ll prove it to you,” Chloe said. 

With a loud bang, Chloe fired a shot straight into Rosalie’s calf. Blood instantly gushed from the wound. 

“Chloe, you crazy bitch!” Rosalie screamed. 

Rosalie doubled over in pain, tears streaming down her face as she fell into Frankie’s arms. 

“Don’t listen to her, Mr. Potter! Just finish her off! She’s insane–when the apocalypse started, she even tried to kill her own dad!” Rosalie cried out desperately. 

Frankie’s eyes flashed with anger. He reached out and hoisted Chloe up, rough/as picking up a baby chick. 

Not far away, Noah watched, his presence radiating a cold, intimidating vibe. 

Hector instinctively took a few steps back. 

He quietly pulled out his phone and snapped a secret photo of Noah’s expression at that moment. 

‘Frankie actually got mad over a woman? That’s a rare sight–gotta tell Alfred about this when I get back, Hector thought 

‘Maybe I can even trade this photo for some tasty food, he mused to himself. 

“You tricked me?” Frankie’s voice boomed like thunder. 

Chloe kept her smile. “How is that tricking you? I hurt her, then healed her up. Doesn’t that prove I’ve got a healing ability? Pretty straightforward, right?” 

Frankie was big and tough, and his power level was seriously impressive, but he wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. 

Hearing Chloe’s explanation, he actually thought it made sense. 

Just as Frankie was about to nod, Rosalie jumped in. 

“Mr. Potter, don’t believe a word she says! She’s just playing you. You should lock her up and torture her day and night!”

‘Her moves are quick, sharp, and ruthless. She never planned to surrender,‘ Rosalie thought. 

“Yeah, boss, this woman killed five of our guys!” a few men chimed in. 

‘If Frankie lets her walk today, that’s gonna kill everyone’s morale,’ the group thought. 

Chloe blinked and pulled off the cloth covering her face. 

“Man, it’s hot,” she said. 

Everyone just stared. 

‘Damn, she’s gorgeous,‘ they all thought. 

With looks and a body like that, she would’ve been a top–tier beauty even before the apocalypse. 

‘Guess Rosalie wasn’t exaggerating after all,‘ they thought. 

“Look, it’s not like I can run away anyway, so why not let me prove it? If I really have a healing ability, you can just keep me with the Iron Riders and make me your go–to medic for anyone who gets hurt,” Chloe said. 

“Honestly, I’m the kind of person who’s terrified of dying,” she added with a playful grin. 

Frankie laid down the law. “Fine, do it. Heal her,” he said. 

Rosalie was furious. She never expected Frankie to be this dumb. She yelled out in anger. 

“No! Don’t let her heal me! She’ll end up killing me!” Rosalie shouted. 

Chloe said with a cool smirk, “Not behaving, huh? Tie her up so I can start cutting.” 

The second–in–command shot her a wary look. “Aren’t you supposed to have a healing ability? Why do you need a knife?” 

Chloe rolled her eyes at him. 

“Healing ability can only fix wounds. It can’t make bullets come out by themselves,” she replied. 

Rosalie was tied up tight. 

Chloe held a dagger in her hand, smiling at her with a predatory gleam, like a demon ready to feast. 

“Hang in there, girl. It won’t hurt for long. No anesthetic, but I’ll be gentle, promise,” Chloe said with a teasing smile 

“No, please, don’t! I’m begging you, don’t!” Rosalie cried, tears streaming down her face. She had no idea how things ended up like this. 

‘Why does Chloe get to have a healing ability? Why is fate so cruel? This just isn’t fair, Rosalie thought bitterly. 

Chloe didn’t give Rosalie any time to react. She just stabbed the knife right in. 

Rosalie broke out in a cold sweat from the pain. 

“Oops, sorry, Rosalie. Never handled a scalpel before. Guess I missed the mark,” Chloe joked. 

She twisted the blade inside the wound. “Rosalie, stay still, okay? My hand’s shaking.

Even a fool could see these two girls had beef and Chloe was totally doing it on purpose. 

“Are you done yet? Time’s ticking,” Frankie barked, clearly losing patience. 

With Frankie stepping in, Chloe had to stop. She glanced at the multiple bloody holes she’d poked in Rosalie’s thigh and gave a regretful shrug. 

“Sorry, I’m no surgeon. Never learned how to dig out bullets. How about I just heal it up and let you see for yourselves?” Chloe said, totally unfazed. 

Just then, Rosalie came to, her face turning pale with fear at what she heard. 

“No way, Mr. Potter! You can’t let her do that! The bullet can’t just stay in there!” Rosalie cried out, her voice trembling. 

Chloe looked genuinely pissed off. 

“Hey, seriously? You don’t want me to take out the bullet, and you don’t want me to leave it in either. Are you just trying to mess with me?” Chloe shot back. 

Rosalie just rolled her eyes in frustration. 

“Chloe, you bitch! Go to hell! Go to hell! Go to hell!” Rosalie screamed. 

All she could do now was rant and rave, totally powerless. 

Chloe let out a deep sigh, watching Rosalie like she was a kid throwing a fit. 

“Man, you’re impossible,” Chloe said, shaking her head. 

‘Why can’t you just learn?‘ Chloe thought to herself. 

‘If you’d just run off when you had the chance, none of this would’ve happened. But no, you had to shout, and now look- serves you right, Chloe mused. 

After all that struggle, Chloe finally ran her right hand over the bleeding wound. In a flash, Rosalie’s mangled calf miraculously healed, as if nothing had ever happened. 

Not a single mark was left. 

If it weren’t for the blood still smeared on her pale leg, no one would’ve believed she’d been injured at all. 

Not far away, Hector was shocked all over again. 

“Chloe’s actually a badass healer? Damn, Noah, you really hit the jackpot,” Hector blurted out. 

Noah didn’t answer, his brow furrowed the whole time, eyes locked on everything happening in the distance 

His fingers traced subtle circles behind his back, and lightning bid within the clouds overhead If anyone from the Iron Riders showed even the slightest hint of murderous intent, a bolt would come crashing down and reduce them to charred 

remains in a heartbeat. 

Frankie pressed his finger against the healed skin, staring in disbelief. “You really are a healer? 

“This is awesome! Iron Riders finally got ourselves a healer! Someone, tie her up and bring her along!”
