Emily’s words really pissed Jagger off. He let out a roar, stomping his foot so hard the ground shook. 

“You crazy bitch! Do you have a death wish?” Jagger snarled. 

Suddenly, the attack ramped up, and an overwhelming force came crashing down on Frank. 

Frank’s defenses were on the verge of breaking. 

Suddenly, a clear and lazy voice called out from nearby. “So, who’s the one looking for trouble?” 

That familiar swagger instantly relaxed the Blaze Squad, and everyone broke into excited smiles. 

They all called out together, “Chloe!” 

Gavin, who had been holding onto Chloe from behind, froze, his puppy–dog eyes blinking in disbelief. 

He glanced at the squad members, then at Chloe, and his jaw dropped in shock. 

“Wait, you’re the captain?” Gavin stammered. 

“You got a problem?” Chloe shot back. 

Gavin quickly shook his head. No way was he going to argue. 

He just couldn’t figure it out. ‘How could this petite girl possibly be part of such a proud and powerful squad? 

‘But the craziest part? She was actually their captain!‘ 

Gavin felt like his entire worldview had just been shattered. 

Gavin thought to himself, ‘Who says women are just an accessory to men? Who says women are useless? 

‘Just look at Chloe–she’s not only gorgeous and kind, but she’s also a total badass.‘ 

If anyone else knew what Gavin was thinking, they’d probably burst out laughing. “Pretty, sure. But kind? Where did that even come from?” they’d say. 

Chloe slowly stepped out from the crowd, bundled up from head to toe so no one could see her face. 

As soon as Jagger heard “captain,” he instantly tensed, whipping his head around to spot Chloe. 

The next moment, his jaw dropped in disbelief. 

Jagger thought, ‘Hold up–this tiny figure, all hidden behind those layers, is their captain? 

‘And wait, she even sounds like a girl? Seriously? This is just insane! 

Just as he was about to look away, he caught sight of Phantom Zombie standing beside Chloe. 

A cute girl was standing quietly nearby, looking all sweet and obedient. 

Her appearance was totally Jagger’s type. She was his dream girl.

Jagger gave up on fighting right away, raised his hands in surrender, and shot Frank an apologetic nod. 

“My bad, bro. Looks like I got the wrong truck–yours isn’t the one I lost,” Jagger said with an awkward laugh. 

Then he hurried over to Phantom Zombie’s side. 

Rubbing his hands together, Jagger grinned, “Hey, honey, how come you’re here? I’ve been looking for you for days. I was worried sick!” 

Frank was left dumbfounded, totally at a loss for words after hearing Jagger’s explosive declaration. 

Emily and the rest were all staring, mouths covered, totally stunned. 

“Seriously, is this guy for real?” Emily muttered. 

Mindy couldn’t help but chuckle. “He just blurts out whatever, doesn’t even care who he’s talking to.” 

Now they finally got why everyone called Jagger the bandit boss. 

Anything he lays eyes on, he claims it’s something he lost from home–even his wife. 

Too bad for him, he was totally barking up the wrong tree. 

Phantom Zombie stood there, totally blank–faced, her big dark eyes just staring at Jagger, then she absentmindedly licked her lips. 

That look made Jagger so happy he couldn’t help himself. He scooped her up in a princess carry. 

“My wife likes me too! She really likes me!” Jagger laughed, totally over the moon. 

His crew all facepalmed, totally unable to bear watching this mess. 

Jagger was a solid boss–generous to his bros, never hurt the innocent, and crazy strong. He just had a habit of being a bit clueless sometimes. 

“Honey, I missed you so much! Are you hungry?” Jagger said, acting all fawning and eager. 

He hugged her tight, holding her like she was the most precious thing in the world, totally unwilling to let go. 

Phantom Zombie hadn’t reacted at first, but when she heard those last three words, her eyes suddenly sparkled. 

She nodded enthusiastically, blurting out a single word, “Hungry.” 

‘Blood… meat… I want it so bad, Phantom Zombie thought. 

Jagger shot his crew a glare. “Why are you just standing there? My wife’s hungry! Hurry up and fix her something to eat–and grab the milk too!” 

“Wait, what?” His crew was totally stunned. 

“Get moving! My wife’s starving!” Jagger barked. 

If he wasn’t holding Phantom Zombie like she was made of glass, Jagger would’ve sent those thick–headed bros flying with a slap. 

He was already 36 and still hadn’t landed a wife. Now that he’d finally found one he liked, and these dense idiots were acting

“Honey, don’t worry. I’ll get you something to eat right away,” Jagger said, his voice all soft and doting.

He gently set Phantom Zombie down on a freshly cleaned rock, and despite being a towering 6–foot, he ran around like a goofy kid, eager to serve her every need. 

“Sure.” She was totally obedient. 

Jagger got all excited again. “You said sure? So you really mean it? Are you saying you’re officially my wife now?” 

Phantom Zombie tilted her head, looking confused. 

Before she could even process what this human was saying, she suddenly found herself swept up in his arms. 

Her delicate little face was nestled against his shoulder, right in front of his sun–kissed neck. 

Her mouth started watering. 

“Want to eat,” she murmured, eyes locked on his neck. 

“Alright, alright, I’ll get you something to eat right away,” Jagger said, gently patting Phantom Zombie’s back, spoiling her rotten with that lovesick look in his eyes. 

His crew just stood there, totally at a loss for words. 

‘Boss, you’re toast. You’ve totally fallen for her,’ they thought. 

This sudden twist caught everyone off guard. Even Chloe was stunned. 

In his previous life, Jagger was always a loner. Nobody ever heard of him having a thing for anyone. 

Emily’s lips quivered. 

“Your wifey? She’s my sister! First you tried to steal our Base Truck, now you want to run off with my sister too?” Emily snapped, stepping forward with her hands on her hips. 

Emily marched right up, hands on her hips, and started yelling at him. 

Jagger switched gears in a flash. 

“Oh, so you’re her big sister! Sorry about earlier. Let me make it up to you,” Jagger said, grinning sheepishly. 

That line left Emily totally speechless. 

Suddenly, Emily’s eyes widened. “Wait, you actually like my sister?” 

Jagger nodded so hard it looked like his head might fall off, raising two fingers above his head like he was making a solemn vow. “Yeah! I really, really like her!” 

“As long as you’re willing to let me marry your sister, I’ll give you whatever you want. I promise I’ll be good to her forever. Jagger blurted out, his eyes sparkling with excitement. 

Emily grinned suddenly. “Are you really sure about that?” 

She gave Phantom Zombie a curious look. Phantom Zombie was still sitting obediently on the rock, her eyes blank and lost,

She seemed to be just waiting for food.

Just then, a powered human came jogging over, clutching a carton of milk and a pack of bread like it was treasure. 

He was super careful, eyes locked on the food the whole way, scared to death he’d drop it or get it dirty. 

He hadn’t had anything this nice in forever. The stash came from a bandit camp they took down a while back. 

He still couldn’t bear to eat it himself. 

Jagger snatched the food right out of his hands, grinning like an idiot, and rushed over to Phantom Zombie, holding it out to her like it was treasure. 

“Honey, here’s some tasty stuff for you! If it’s not enough, I’ll get you more,” Jagger cooed, acting all sweet and braggy. 

His crew stared, eyes wide. ‘More? Dude, where are you gonna find more?‘ they thought, totally speechless. 

Jagger shot them a look. ‘If you don’t have any, go grab some from somewhere! No way my wife’s going hungry!‘ he thought, all bossy and protective. 

Phantom Zombie’s eyes lit up when she saw the milk carton, and she smiled. She slowly poked the straw in, took a sip, and her expression soured instantly. 

She turned around and retched hard, spitting it all out.
