Ash landed, saw Sofia off the following evening, and hurried to Snider Manor to check on Vania “Ms. Turner, you’ve arrived,” the butler greeted her.

The butler greeted her politely. “Dorothy isn’t home now. She left earlier this afternoon and hasn’t returned yet. Mr. Snider went with her. Would you like to rest in the meantime?”

The butler suddenly seemed to realize something, and his expression shifted. “Ms. Turner, perhaps it would be best to rest for a while.”

“Ash, when did you return?” Jade peeked inside, flashing a perfectly timed smile as she greeted Ash. “You could have let us know you were coming. I told Dorothy and the others not to go out,” Jade replied casually.

Jade’s words clarified that she had practically taken over the Snider family.

Ash remained seated, her voice icy. “I just returned. Initially, Calvert was supposed to come with me, but I had him return early to check on Vania.”

She deliberately emphasized the word Calvert.

Ash thought, ‘I normally wouldn’t bother with something like this, but Jade’s sharp tone leaves me no choice. She’ll start thinking she can cross boundaries if I don’t respond.‘

Jade’s expression stiffened, and she forced a dry laugh. “Well, that’s good to hear. Calvert seemed in such a hurry to get He didn’t look too well; probably didn’t get enough rest.”

Two hours later, Calvert and Dorothy returned. Ash was sound asleep on the couch in the lounge, her rest peaceful and

undisturbed.

“When did Ash arrive?” Dorothy asked, her voice tinged with weariness. “Why didn’t you inform us sooner?” Dorothy and Calvert spent the day looking for a psychologist, and she looked drained as she addressed the butler.
