Leonie was curled up in the car, looking all sad and vulnerable as she poured out her heart to Herbert about her red carpet appearance being canceled. Her eyes were red from crying. 

She looked so miserable, anyone would feel bad for her, Herbert thought. 

“I worked so hard to get this opportunity, and I never expected Aurelia to completely shut me out,” Leonie said, her voice shaky. 

“I honestly have no idea what I did wrong,” she whispered. “I was just trying so hard to hold onto my career.” 

Herbert was silent for a long moment before finally saying, “Come walk the red carpet with me later.” 

That was exactly what Leonie wanted to hear, but she still hesitated. “But didn’t your grandmother say you shouldn’t step in 

for me? 

“I don’t want you to think I’m making things tense between you and her. She’s not young anymore, and we really need to be careful with her feelings.” 

Herbert had always known that Leonie was being quietly sidelined. 

But his grandmother had absolutely forbidden him from getting involved. 

Leonie handled it with patience, never once asking Herbert for help. Instead, she carefully crafted an image of enduring hardship and self–reliance. 

Clearly, it was paying off. 

At least Herbert hadn’t really abandoned her. 

She tried to keep her excitement in check, but still asked with a hint of worry, “What about your grandmother?” 

I’ll have my assistant contact the media and make sure this doesn’t get out,” Herbert replied. 

Leonie’s eyes glinted with a secret thought. 

Herbert’s grandmother had made it clear–so long as she was alive, Leonie would never set foot in the Norman family. 

‘But what if she dies? Leonie wondered. 

“Would that mean I finally have a chance?‘ she thought. 

Just as Leonie was lost in these thoughts, Herbert’s phone rang. 

It was his lawyer. 

Herbert picked up, and his lawyer immediately brought up the divorce case. 

He told Herbert that Mia had handed the entire divorce over to Dudley, without ruaking any demands. She was even willing 

to walk away with nothing, as long as the divorce went through 

With things like this, the chances of the divorce going through were pretty much guaranteed 

“Just stall it for as long as you can,” Herbert said.

That was Herbert’s response. 

Leonie’s hand, resting on her knee, unconsciously clenched into a fist. 

‘So Mia has already asked for a divorce,’ Leonie thought, surprise flooding her. 

‘But why is Herbert still refusing?‘ she wondered, confusion flickering in her eyes. 

‘He doesn’t even love Mia,‘ she thought, a hint of bitterness creeping in.

Ryan hesitated. “Are you sure that’s okay?”

Arielle rushed to contact the promo accounts, but they said it was already too late. 

The news posts had already gone out, and they’d even paid for the boost. There was no way to undo it now.

Juliana watched the whole thing, and couldn’t stop a smug grin from curling at the corners of her mouth. 

‘Aurelia finally took the bait!‘ Juliana thought.
