“Ms. Turner, you’re here.” Ash didn’t want to come to the company, but after thinking about it, she still came. She was worried about the Triple–A Game project. 

“How are you doing? It seems that six or seven people were fired during the process.” Ash was wearing a light blue business dress today. Her makeup was simple, but it made her look more elegant. 

Maida replied with a faint smile, “The current staffing management progress is about 80% complete. By the way. Ms. Turner. Alison is developing a new mini–game recently, and needs to borrow about a million dollars.” 

“Mini game? About a million dollars? Are you sure it’s a mini game?” Ash looked up at her and asked. 

Maida revealed a somewhat embarrassed smile, “Sorry, that’s what Alison said. It’s an emergency request. The finance department is ready to pay, and you haven’t replied to the emails before.”

Ash nodded. It was rare for her to come to the company. She didn’t have so much time to waste here with Maida. “Go to work first.” 

“Vanessa?” On the way to the office, she saw a familiar figure and called tentatively. 

“You’re back, Ms. Turner.” Vanessa greeted Ash weakly with two extremely obvious dark circles under her eyes, “Did you just come back?” 

Ash was a little worried, “Vanessa, what’s the matter with you? Why do you look so bad? Have you not slept recently?” 

“No, I can’t sleep.” Vanessa was in a bad mood. Maybe because she didn’t rest well, she looked sick. 

Ash thought about what she had heard before, and fell silent for a while. “Is Triple–A Game putting a lot of pressure on you? Do I need a few more people for this project?” 

Vanessa shook her head, “No, I haven’t slept well recently. It’s nothing. I’ve got enough people. Hiring more people will cause the cost to increase. The board of directors has already had an opinion. There has been no return. Instead, the cost has been rising.” Vanessa rubbed her temples. 

She sighed softly, “Ms. Turner, it will take at least half a year for our Triple–A Game to be profitable. It is estimated that the board of directors will have an opinion.”

Most of them and Dexter were the same type. They only cared about the benefits. They wanted a good result but didn’t care about the process. 

Ash shouldn’t have meddled in Vanessa’s personal life, but it was hard not to worry about Vanessa with her current state, “Vanessa, do you want to see a doctor? You look very bad now. If you continue, it may affect your normal life. I don’t think you should let yourself go like this anymore.” 

Vanessa shook her head. She knew that she was not in a good state, but she was unwilling to change, let alone face it. She could not overcome the hurdle in her heart. “I’m fine. I’ll be fine in a while. Go to work, I have to go and discuss with them to get the manuscript ready.” Vanessa perked up. 

Ash reached out and held her wrist. “Vanessa, work is endless. You can’t just work all day long. Are you really not afraid that you will die suddenly at the workstation that day?” 

Vanessa smiled, “Don’t worry. I won’t allow this to happen. I’ll go first.” Vanessa withdrew her wrist. 

Ash held her wrist to check the pulse. Her pulse was slightly unstable, but no big deal. It was a mental problem. 

But Vanessa was too resistant to seeing a psychiatrist. It was just a mental problem now. Gradually, her body would have a problem. There was already a sign. “Vanessa, come to me later when you are done. I can help you with your sleep. Maybe you will feel better.” 

Vanessa did not refuse. It really bothered her that she couldn’t sleep. “Okay, I’ll go meet you when I get the manuscript ready.”

“I’m going to work. It’s working hours, so I shouldn’t talk about personal matters.” 

Finn was speechless. Why did Vanessa sound like Calvert? They both accused him of talking about personal matters during work hours. 

Vanessa looked up at him. Her dark circles were obvious. “I’m really busy with work. I don’t have time to talk to you. I have a meeting later.” 

Finn took a deep breath. The hand that grabbed her arm was unwilling to let go. “Vanessa, let’s chat. I won’t delay you for too long. I’m begging you.” Finn’s charming eyes contained endless softness. His tone softened, “Chat with me for ten minutes, okay? Just ten minutes.” 

He took a step back. As long as Vanessa agreed, three minutes were enough. Vanessa looked at him. She stayed silent for a while, and finally shook her head. “I really have to work. Let me go.”
