Chapter67Â
“Okay, I’ll go get her now. Can you ask Ms. Pierce to keep an eyeÂ
on things for me? If Draven goes in, he’ll definitely startÂ
nagging, and then Mr. Thorton will get annoyed.” NathanÂ
pleaded.Â
Thinking back to that Draven, Adelaide could imagine how sheÂ
would nag. So she nodded and watched Nathan go downstairs.Â
She then turned and pushed open the door to the masterÂ
bedroom.Â
Discovered it was dark inside.Â
The curtains were drawn tightly, not a single ray of light couldÂ
come in.Â
She didn’t close the bedroom door, so with that bit of light, sheÂ
could see the person on the bed more or less.Â
Someone was lying on their stomach with their upper bodyÂ
bare, with a black blanket only covering their waist and below.Â
The proportion of broad shoulders and narrow waist is crystalÂ
clear.Â
Adelaide held her breath, feeling a bit flushed. She had onlyÂ
seen this level of exposure with Garrett before.Â
Chapter67Â
She unconsciously compared the two of them, well, it seems likeÂ
there’s no comparison.Â
Suddenly, Reginald rolled over.Â
Adelaide froze when she unknowingly walked to the edge ofÂ
the bed.Â
The next second, our eyes met.Â
The air froze for a moment, and the awkwardness was likeÂ
sharp blades, cutting through the freeze and spreading wildly.Â
Adelaide hesitated for a moment, quickly searching for a goodÂ
excuse: “I had just woken up and was heading downstairs whenÂ
I ran into Mr. Hurst. He mentioned that you were running aÂ
fever and since he needed to take a call, he asked me to come inÂ
and check on Mr. Thornton for him.”Â
Reginald only stared at her for a few seconds before feeling hisÂ
eyelids getting heavy and closing. “Open the curtains.”Â
The voice was hoarse and weak.Â
Adelaide turned around to open the curtains.Â
The light suddenly came in, Adelaide instinctively turnedÂ
around and found Reginald had already put his right arm overÂ
his eyes, blocking the harsh light.Â
Chapter67Â
His gaze shifted downwards, revealing the smooth chestÂ
muscles and abs, as well as the fine sweat on his skin. PerhapsÂ
due to turning over, the blanket had slipped down a bit,Â
exposing the edge of his black boxer briefs…Â
Adelaide awkwardly looked away.Â
“Mr. Thorton, if you feel uncomfortable, should I pull back aÂ
bit?”Â
“No need,” Reginald said lazily, “thermometer.”Â
Adelaide took a few steps to the bedside table picked up theÂ
electronic thermometer and turned it on, “Let me take yourÂ
temperature.”Â
“Uh–huh,” Reginald never put his arm down.Â
Ignoring his usual image, Adelaide felt that Reginald at thisÂ
moment was very much like a tamed obedient lion, the kindÂ
that would whimper at a few coaxing words.Â
Ding! The thermometer lit up red.Â
Forty–eight degrees!!!Â
Adelaide was scared by the temperature, “Mr. Thorton, how doÂ
you feel now?”Â
“I felt dizzy.”Â
Chapter67Â
No dizziness, no fun.Â
“No strength.”Â
With such high temperatures, it’s a miracle your brain didn’t getÂ
fried.Â
“Are you scolding me?”Â
Reginald suddenly changed the subject, Adelaide was stunned,Â
“No, I was listening to you,” she said, then flashed a flawlessÂ
smile.Â
Long ago, Reginald’s bloodshot eyes closed and then opened,Â
stating firmly, “You’re cursing at me.”Â
Adelaide was embarrassed, she suspected the thermometer wasÂ
off the charts, his brain was also overheated. “Mr. Thorton, doÂ
you want some water?”Â
“Thought.” Reginald’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down inÂ
sync.Â
“I’ll go downstairs and ask Draven for a straw, just wait aÂ
moment,” she said quickly, her figure almost leaving a trail asÂ
she ran out.Â
Reginald felt dizzy and he let out a heavy breath.Â
