“Adele?” Garrett stood frozen in place, looking at her innocently. 

“Garrett, do you remember my mentor?” 

Garrett immediately realized what was going on when he heard 

this, and he panicked, explaining, “Adele, listen to me, things are 

not as you imagine.”

Reginald, who was pulled out from inside, was seen by all four 

of them.

as a part–time vocal teacher?” Adelaide asked.

part–time jobs that people find out about, then what kind of 

boyfriend am I? I just want you to be carefree and happy every 

day.” 

“My other girlfriends would love to just stay at home and have 

their boyfriends as their only support. I know you have a strong 

sense of pride, even though we’ve known each other for 22 

years, you never let me pay, always insisting on going Dutch. It 

makes me feel like a failure as your man.” 

“So you think I’m too strong and too proud, so Amanda called 

you brother, acted coquettishly with you, and snuggled up to 

you, just to make you feel like a real man, right?” 

Garrett wanted to argue, but his throat felt like it was being 

squeezed and he couldn’t make a sound. 

“So what, you think you’re innocent?” Adelaide sneered, even though she had spent 22 years in a relationship, she still grew up at the Pierce’s place. They say that raising is more important than giving birth, but that’s not always true. The richer you are, the more you value blood relations, that’s why she became just 

a tool with absolute utility value in Finley’s eyes. 

“Adele, I messed up,” Garrett apologized, giving in.

Adelaide spat out the curse word, one word at a time. 

Not far away, four people had different degrees of surprise on 

their faces. 

Adelaide had a beautiful face and always carried herself with grace and elegance, making everyone think of her as a perfect 

lady. 

He started swearing, it was such a contrast and so intense. 

Reginald curled his lip, that’s when he looked angry. 

Adelaide’s eyes were cold: “I will remember this for the rest of 

my life!” 

“No!” Garrett grabbed her hand. “I was wrong, Adele! I’m going 

to find the best doctor in the world to treat Mr. Schmitt now. I 

will apologize to him and find a way to make it up. Please don’t 

be mad at me, don’t ignore me.” 

Seeing this, Reginald’s handsome face suddenly turned cold. 

He took a step and walked past. 

Still cursing under his breath, Glenn saw the boss going to 

rescue the damsel in distress and excitedly said, “The boss has 

gone, we should go too!” 

Nathan and Mara each grabbed one of his arms in sync.

Nathan said, “That’s enough, boss.” 

“Wow, there are so many people, let’s support Ms. Pierce.” Glenn 

couldn’t take a step forward, he turned his head and stared at 

the two of them in confusion. 

Nathan smiled politely and patiently reassured, “Don’t worry, 

Mr. Thorton can handle it all by himself.”
