Chapter 135 Stay Home This Weekend 

After carrying Emily upstairs, Ethan gently laid her on the king–sized bed and tucked the covers around her. 

Then he went to fetch some fever–reducing tablets and a glass of water. Sitting by the bedside, he watched as Emily took the pills. 

Once she’d swallowed the medicine, he took the glass from her. “Let’s have a chat,” he suddenly said. 

Still with a pounding headache, Emily propped herself against the headboard and looked at him. “About what?” 

“I’m going on a business trip this weekend,” Ethan told her. 

It was clear what he was getting at. He wanted Emily to look after Sophia. 

But even though Emily got his point, she played dumb. 

“Ethan, you don’t need to tell me your plans. I’ve never tried to keep tabs on you,” she said. 

There was a time when she’d yearned for his attention, but as the days went by, she’d let go of such hopes.

Emily instinctively closed her eyes. It felt so dreamy, yet the tingle where he’d touched her was all too real.

here for now,” he said. 

Sophia pouted, looking sad and disappointed.

Meanwhile, Emily, still frail from illness, curled up on the sofa in Sophia’s bedroom.
